  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks. I always appreciate it when somebody comes in and can lighten it up a bit.
  3. @Ornithopter Well, in this scenario you're the girl and PC is you! Just kidding, couldn't resist!
  4. If I’m understanding the real manuals correctly: At an AoA of ~26 the stick pusher activates and drives the stick forward to lower the AoA. However, with a force of 17kg, the pilot can override the stick pusher and pull more AoA
  5. We have a new cycle starting this weekend! Come and join us and learn an airframe or topic of your choice! We offer pretty much every airframe and external topics like LSO, CATCC, Combined Arms (soon tm) and more!
  6. Coop need not be PvE. And PvP need not occur on open free-for-all servers. Obviously one can have a private server, with opposite teams both playing for "realism", thereby avoiding the pitfalls of the open servers. I've seen Milsim groups though that not only don't do PvP, they consider even the concept of it to be "unrealistic" as if it were some kind of blasphemy. I never understood how that could be...A skilled human opponent instead of a predictible AI? I hate to say it, but my guess is that a large number of MilSim-style/PvE only types would get their butts handed to them on a platter if they had to fight against a skilled human being. IMO, its an entirely new level of difficulty and requires a much higher level of skill. The open server people might not know how to communicate like a real pilot, fill out a comm card, or keep a tight formation, probably can't even navigate in the dark, but when it comes to shooting down the enemy, they are GOOD.
  7. I think it doesn't really matter. It's safe to say that currently every aircraft, be it a flyable module or AI is "broken" when it comes to the rendering of ext lights. I used to do bug reports for those issues, but they got ignored, so that's why it's a humble wishlist item now. I'm afraid that ED is silently aware that ext lights are broken since forever, but acknowledging that as bugs would put too much pressure on them to actually fix it?! It should not be rocket science to do it right, but would just need one orchestrated effort from the engineering and art departments. Every other game does this well and does it well since forever. It's negligence for the night environment and not an illusive art problem or a complex technical challenge. I sometimes hope that this is something that is on the back burner until vulcan get rolled out, but on the other hand it should not be complex enough for the vulcan switch to even affect it too much. It's a frustrating situation...
  8. Literally unplayable
  9. - You have parked cores. Try unparking them first to see if the situation improves. - SRS is throwing exceptions. There is a updated version available. - HFSExport.lua is throwing exceptions. - You have many mods, both in your 'saved games' and overwriting the DCS install. You need to remove your mods, run a DCS repair. Then try again. If it works better then slowly start adding back your mods
  10. Not sure why you guys conclude "HB say its intended, they wont fix it" when I keep saying the opposite. Sorry if the messages have not been clear enough, so let me try it one more time: The current behavior is "working as expected" but that doesnt mean that it won't be improved/changed. As I keep repeating, it is on the list and it will eventually receive another pass so that the lag is gone. Please do not misinterpret that some things take longer than you want for lack of interest or willingness to change and improve something.
  11. I made a mission, which i want to have in different difficulty levels. The pilot shoud be able to select at the mission start via F10 menue (F10 - other) the difficulty of the mission. is there a way where i can set options that the later spawning enemy squadron has 1, 2, 3 or 4 wingmen? Or set the skills from Zero to Ace? Thanks in advance
  12. А по поводу АРК что? Л-39 на каком РСБН живет на 21ом или 29ом?
  13. I guess you're right. For me having 3 WPT with 3 RSBN and 3 ARD with corresponding PRGM is enough for the Mig 29 missions at this moment. I hope the manual will be more documented in the future on this matter. Cheers
  14. If you watch the Reals Videos on YT , you can see how everything moves: Cables, Seats, Sun Visors, etc. Even the Pilots get shaken around. That's completely missing from the CH-47F, and in the C-130J, it's just the Microphone Cables. There's simply not enough life in VR.
  15. Thanks. I’ve been into "realistic" videogames for over 25 years, and I’ve thought about this dilemma a lot. I think it's just not worth trying to force "realism" into PvP. You can design systems that push players toward the dynamics we want, but they're always crude and end up feeling like crutches. Your idea with a single life mode will surely make players value their life more, but to me, that doesn't seem like an elegant or even practical solution. I'm not disillusioned though. I think each mode of play has its own strengths and weaknesses and embracing those leads to better results. My own frustration with the realism dilemma actually taught me to appreciate designs that lean into their format. I might scoff at 'airquake' but I’ve also learned to enjoy Quake itself for what it is. I mean the actual arena shooter, not the DCS variant. For truly "realistic" experiences, I believe the real answer lies in cooperative play. And with advances in AI, I'm quite optimistic about the future of that mode.
  16. I was using Cirrocumulus 3 on a sunrise Kola flight and saw the same sort of issue in the top layer there, but not nearly as severe as that photo. Didn't think to grab a screenshot when I was on but can get it next session if needed. Fantastic mod by the way - thank you! Looking forward to those 2.1 cirrus clouds!
  17. This summarizes my feelings every time I'm flying in a Hornet on the Persian Gulf and thinking "I really hope there aren't an F-14s operating anywhere..."
  18. Of course, but I hope you'll at least be willing to indulge me as I relate an analogy from my youth, to better explain where I'm coming from: Back in school, there was this girl I was attracted to. I asked her out several times. Instead of saying "No", there would always be a polite excuse that left the door open just enough that I wasn't sure but still retained a little hope. Eventually, I finally gave up and lost interest. Ironically, 6 months later, she called, and asked me out. I told her no. The time had passed, and I wasn't interested anymore. I'm a passionate DCS helicopter fan. I own all the ED helicopters, but none from Polychop. I wanted both the Gazelle and the Kiowa on and off, but I could never bring myself to purchase them because I didn't have the confidence in the company making them. Perhaps, through fear of missing out, I've checked back periodically all these years to determine if I should change my mind. But it seems like there is always something going on, and when questions are asked, the answer is always to just to wait around a little longer. Ok, totally fair. But I've started to feel like Charlie Brown when Lucy takes the football away. I don't want to be like Charlie Brown. At some point, just like with the girl who wouldn't date me but was keeping me in reserve, up on a shelf, it's time to stop caring, and just move on. And when that point is reached, it really doesn't matter what the explanation is, because my own interest has expired. I hope this situation works out for the people who have purchased the Kiowa or the Gazelle.

    Visore VR

  20. That's correct, but in this situation, I was wondering if only the first three channels would be connected to the MIG navigation, and the subsequent channels, starting from 4, would simply function as manual selection channels. So, whenever you add an RBSN using DTC, it sets the first three points as Beacon buttons, but not the rest. The rest will be manual selection, e.g., if you give 5 x RSBN here in DTC. Have you checked this?
  21. so switched to the MIG-21 today (same mission, nothing changed) and hat the problem again. more than ever. dcs.log
  22. I also have reported the laggy stick behaviour in the vertical axis before. I have an FFB stick and it doesn't make sense that I do not FEEL any resistance on the stick while on the ground, yet in the airplane the stick moves like the pilot has to exert so much strength that the stick can only move slowly. Or if it is truly that hard to move the stick while there are no aerodynamic forces, maybe it could be added to the FFB behaviour. I understand how it can be immersion breaking even without the FFB. And to second that, I also think there is no problem with F-14 mirror design and it's much preferable both for immersion and comfort.
  23. У МиГ-21 своя база РСБН. К ДКСной отношения не имеет.
  24. Let me guess: this is from the Black Shark days?
