  2. LOL guys! Honestly though. It is a nice tips Airway and Sobek gave - Use the search button and RTFM because it's annoying to even just read the same questions fifty-eleven times (with different titles so you never know until its too late lol). Let alone replying to them! Phew. :D :megalol: No harm done though. And ofcourse people should post if they dont seem to find an answer (me included). Nothing wrong in that. But still good tips here that people seem to react strange to. ;)

  4. In the way to improve animations on my 3D model, I've got some questions about how controls are working on JAS-39. Especially : -> If "ailerons" and "flaps" (in fact, two half-elevons) on each wing are fully united or if they work differently on roll. -> If canards participate on roll... Thank you. :)

  6. Hi All, I still have one of these old birds in use, with Dhauzimmer's drivers. Ive completed a profile for Black shark, and have included the png file and PDP file for anyone who wants to change or improve on it. They are all in the file found HERE Its got three modes, Default, shifted, and safe. activation and actions are described in the txt file in the zip, and focuses mostly on mimicing the IPV and Abris control buttons and rotary. I'm sure someone would do a better job on the grafix, profile does what its supposed to, and eliminates the keyboard for me.

  8. If you've ever played Lockon online, you've probably noticed that the server you connect to enforces whatever 'scene' setting it uses onto you, the client. For some, this can be bad, since some have PC's that aren't capable or suffer from bad FPS if the server forces a High or Medium setting. There was, however, a way to trick the game into using whatever file you desire. DCS has a very similar engine to LO as you know, and the same editing tricks can be applied....all you have to do go into the folder 'Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Bazar\Terrain\Scenes" and look for 3 files: High.scn Medium.scn Low.scn (i advise that you backup all 3 files before you do this) If you want to have it on, say, Low scenes all the time, you just delete Medium.scn and High.scn, make 2x copies of the Low.scn and rename one Medium.scn and the other High.scn. The same goes for if you want Medium scenes, or High scenes :) Hope this is of some use to some

  11. You'd be doing well installing them.. unless you are hacking my PC! I haven't released 1.4 yet! ;) There's a fine line between tiling and boring textures as I'm sure you are all aware. I either run all texturing in the direction of the tiling so that no tiling is apparent or I keep some variation but get "some" tiling when zoomed out. Obviously if I was able to use tarmac/asphalt I could reduce tiling to almost zero.. but I can't.. asphalt and tarmac is virtually non existant on Russian military airbases! The dirt is necessary imo. I've tried to make it I feel that I've got the balance about right, it can't really be seen when flying unless you are flying very high above the runways. Run off areas (the dirt roadways) I've had a really good look at the run off areas. The problem is that whilst I could definitley improve them I don't think I can and come up with something suitable for all seasons and keep the realistic look which ED put in as stock. Basically unless someone can tell me how to make MODMAN able to insert the same texture name multiple times I am going to leave Run Offs alone. From V1.4 Final: Fixed the issue with horizontal lining, forgot to allow for the texture placement method. And.. a few other fiddles..

  12. I have to admit I haven't installed and played these yet (just going off the screen shots) but if anything there appears to be less tiling than before.

  13. I regress on my initial cloud statement. It does fixes the bar. But as some already mentioned; The clouds, does act weird after, see the screenshots. I’ve noticed that today. Anyhow it was a good try. Fixes one thing, but breaks something else...

  14. The textures are tiling. The main reason is dirt I think.

They soplenoid valve has been replaced by a mechanical valve thay is activated by the Collective Brake Handle.. Got pictures coming up later today.. The valve i bought at TESS I seem to remember.. Yup.. it wass definately at TESS..! I do actually have one more of those cylinders here though.. Why don't you PM me your adress and I'll send it to you.. Norway to Sweden isn't that far..;)

  17. I know it is nowhere near Falcon, but perhaps you will like these missions: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36213 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35840

  18. I agree with most of the first Postings. I'm a Falcon Pilot for years. And the only thing that keeps Falcon alive, for me personally, is the dynamic campaign and the easy(better say quick) to use Mission Editor. It really start getting boring to build missions for hours and then play the own Mission in an hour or two. Even when you do not know what happens exactly in detail(because of a complex mission or random triggers)....but you basicly know what is going around in your mission. I think only a dynamic campaign and an easyer to use mission builder can hold a big bunch of customers for long time. And when we are talking about dynamic campaign, we also must talk about AI radio chatter like Falcon one's:music_whistling: This is a must have for me to have a much better "being in there" feeling or call it atmosphere... I know all this is already discussed in the wishlist Thread....but it can't said often enough.:)

  19. The thing to note with icing is that it is dependant on air pressure, moisture content and temperature. The less pressure air has and the colder it becomes, the less moisture it can contain. Physical airframe icing will be most prevalent in low temperatures above and below zero with high moisture content. so it goes to reason (in theory) that the colder the air is and the higher you fly the less moisture it can hold and the less likely you will encounter icing. Though remember air is a collection of parcels of air of different temperature / density spanning in volume of space and moving in 3 dimensions. So you can have a cold air parcel moving through warm air or vice versa (clouds and fronts) The most prevalent form of icing actually happens in moist warm air and is known as induction or carb icing described below. Moist air well above zero is a major factor of induction or carburettor icing. And is the one of the largest contributing factor to forced landings. Induction / carb icing can happen in tempereatures as high as 15 degrees celsius or slightly higher depending on air conditions (high moisture content) Carb icing is most prevalent and this is caused by the venturi effect from the air appature controlling the flow of air into the carb to be mixed with fuel. From Bernoulli's law, the venturi effect will cause a pressure drop of the flow of air. As the pressure drops it cannot sustain as much water and will become more saturated. The air speed increases and cools the water vapour to a point where ice forms in the throat of the carburettor causing a restriction of air. This will result in power loss and possibly engine failure. This is why carburettor engines on low revs will be prone to icing more than an engine at high revs and can suffer from icing at temperatures well above 0. At low revs the butterfly or appature introducing air to the carburettor will be mostly closed. It is here that the venturi effect will be greatest (and from bernoulli's law) the pressure drop the greatest leading to a greater chance of icing. Fuel injected engines won't suffer from carb icing but are still succetpable to induction icing. At full power the butterfly or appature in the carburettor will be fully open with very little venturi effect. Hence why a lot of carb craft suffer from icing on decent causing engine failure. Induction icing works fairly similar in principle from the venturi effect of the air intake restriciton / air speed increase feeding the engine. So in real life. Icing can happen at temperatures well above 0 degrees c. Lowering the air pressure, the less water can be contained in the air. Lowering the temperature, the less water can be contined in the air. Its a combination of these factors that can cause icing and the reason why an OAT is a good indicator and here is the reason why. Before take off you grab the met weather. This will give you an idea cloud base, temperature and dew point. As we know as pilots that we are passing through parcels of different air, its stands as prudent that a drop in OAT whilst in flight in what we deem to be possible icing conditions will warn us that icing will become more likely. An OAT is not a device that will tell you exactly when you will encounter icing. It is however a great indicator that your likelyhood of encountering icing is increasing. A very useful device. Anyhow i have rambled.

  21. Just trying to be helpful :music_whistling: I am just offering my help. How should I know if it's wanted? Anyway, to business: There are no ailerons or flaps on the wings, just inner and outer elevons. They work mostly together, but it heavily depends on the attitude, altitude and airspeed of the aircraft according to signals from FCS. Canards work both as controls and de-stabilizers. They can move both together or differentially. There are also leading edge flaps which can move up or down. I will try to obtain maximum angles on all controls. The APU doors remain open until the APU itself shuts down when the landing gear is up and locked. After landing when the nose wheel is on the ground, the APU starts automatically.

  28. This makes me wonder...what does the targeting sight of a Stinger look like? Or any shoulder-fired heat seeker? As simulated in most flight sims, you can uncage an Aim-9 and pretty easily tell if its actually tracking the aircraft or a flare. Seeing as how these heaters are probably always uncaged, can you tell if its tracking a flare? Maybe it wouldn't be indecision from the AI but rather not being able to track the aircraft while its still in parameters. ^^^^ That DOES sound cool, doesn't it? :D

  31. I made my own affinity tool for myself a few days ago in AutoIt when I found I couldn't get TaskAssign to work. At first it was a simple script that would run in the background and set the dcs.exe affinity when it found one, but I kept adding onto it. I wanted to merge the two Black Shark desktop icons into one and never have to set the affinity again. After I decided I was going to release it on the forums I cleaned up the interface, optimized some shaky code and added some error checking. Here is the result: EDIT: Use this new google code project page for instructions and download link. Version 2 removes the need for any user configuration. Just run and it works.
