UPDATED 03/15/2011 I thought it would be good to post here my approach to configure the X-52 in this sim since many people could be new to it and could use it as a starting point. Attached to this post are 2 files: the Saitek .pr0 profile and the DCS A-10C .lua profile. Also you can see in the pictures below the controls arrangement. Note that the italic commands are executed in conjunction with the pinky switch located in the base of the control stick. This profile is optimized for TrackIR users. You may want to replace some functions with the camera panning commands if you don't own one. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW CAREFULLY TO AVOID TROUBLE. All the steps are simple, you just have to pay attention to not screw anything up. INSTRUCTIONS 1) To load the .lua profile: Open up A-10C options screen, controls. Select any cell in the Saitek X-52 column. Click "Load Profile" on top and point to the .lua file. Beware that if you leave selected a cell from other controller (e.g. keyboard, mouse, etc) you will overwrite that controller definition with the .lua file, so double check before you confirm the changes. In any case, backup the Config/Input folder, in the case you need to revert the changes. 2) To load the .pr0 profile: Copy the .pr0 file to the Saitek profiles folder (in my case is C:\Users\Public\Documents\Saitek SD6 Profiles). The profile should appear in the right-click menu of the Saitek taskbar icon. Right click the Saitek taskbar icon and ensure the "SFJackBauer A-10C" item is clicked. 3) Configure the speed brake slider: Inside DCS A-10C, change the "HOTAS Speed brake switch forward" keyboard key to "N", and the "HOTAS Speed brake switch aft" keyboard key to "B". This enables the use of the slider as a speedbrake controller (check pic below). If you open up a chat textbox, and it is spammed with BBBBBBB or NNNNNNN keys, then remember to set back the slider to the center position :). Tips * Use the Cockpit illumination switch (T4) for dark ramp-starts. * The buttons in the throttle LCD alone give access to the radios. When used with the pinky, are useful to switch between the flight plan and markpoints. * Use T5 and T6 to light up your engines. * The mousewheel behind the throttle gives access to the NVG functions, when combined with the pinky. * You can use the "i" (clutch) button in the throttle to command your voice chat program as I do. To do that you need to disable the clutch functionality in the Control panel -> Joysticks, and assign a key to the clutch button inside the Saitek Profile Editor. Known features that are not implemented / complete yet: - Much of the Nevada map is incomplete (Las Vegas, Groom Lake, building blocks, etc.)

How about a mini-walkaround. ;) The model and texture work are incredible, and the normal/specular mapping really gives it that painted-metal look, with all those scratches visible when the light hits them just right. :) Click each image for full 1920x1080.

Насколько я понимаю, реверс-инжиниринг фритрековцами (и не только ими, кстати) делался не протоколу, а библиотеке натурального пойнта :) . Но в любом случае - фритрек пытается эмулировать протокол обмена NP и "подсовывает" играм свою библиотеку, что и приводит к коллизиям. Почему-то никто не хочет идти прямым и открытым путем - HID-устройство, воткнул и играй. Потому и жду я USB-девайс от ВКБ - он будет (надеюсь, таки будет) первым. Добавлено. Вышедшая 2 года назад Акула уже могла работать с обзором (все оси!) от HID-устройства. А люди, которые занимались обзорниками, знали о такой возможности еще раньше - ED не делало никакой тайны из новой подсистемы ввода. Тем не менее...

Well, learning the avionics aside. Little things such as too much lateral movement on landing or landing too hard will blow the tires and visually you can see the shreaded tires. Learning the avionics is going to be the biggest issue for most people, but I believe as people become familiar and online wings start up those struggling will be able to learn from others. The flight model is very well done. Even as you start to taxi you feel the ground bumps, which just feels and looks so real. I'm not sure if rwy conditions have been implement or if it was just my inexperience but I slid around on landing during a thunder shower. The only missing for me is "ivc" in game voice comms using the radios for online flying. :( For me, complexity is everything from environmental effects, which button to push, flight model, radios, weapons performance, navigation all as realistic as possible.

Я считаю, что профессиональный программист высокого класса, может взломать любую игрушку, вне зависимости есть проверка файлов или ее нет, ломают же защиты банков и пентагона, но думаю, что профи взломом ЛО вряд ли будет заниматься, дело неблагодарное и не денежное, поэтому предлагаю не поднимать панику и спокойно разобраться в ситуации. Посмотрел трек, тоже не увидел, чего то запредельного, чел грамотно сочетает энергетическую тактику с полетами на углах, да выходит на максимальные режимы, и эти режимы иногда скачут на доли секунды, но я смотрел другие треки они скачут у всех практически. Тем не менее Тогану предупреждение за некорректное поведение в чате, будет повтор - забаним.

Hi Mustang, First thing I do is package mods when I get them before installing :) I love modman it's so easy to test versions and take them on and off. Sorry I can't post the package it's too big, and I don't want to post some of your work to the lockonfiles or fileexchange. Just see the screenshots below and you can do it. 1. Create the mod, add the cdds as per the first screenshot. 2. Click the CFG button 3. Set it up like the second screenshot. 4. Do the same for FC2 - but change the graphics.cfg file instead of graphics_bs.cfg Cheers and thanks again for the roads, I will try the new one with more markings. ps do you think your mods will work in DCS: A-10C?

Тут у народа полное недопонимание, большинство под русской версией игры понимает версию с переведенным на русский GUI, который не имеет ничего общего с симуляцией самолёта и моделью\текстурами кокпита самолета. Можно конечно тыкать мышкой в надпись OPTIONS, а можно в НАСТРОЙКИ. И в миссиях приятней прочитать русский субтитр под английскую речь... Об этом разговор, для этого нужна руская версия (читай локализация) игры Русская кабина нафиг-нафиг....

It works with both my throttles just fine. The only problem is you can't set the idle detent to correspond to the fuel cutoff in the game. You have to use the keyboard or a joystick button to simulate lifting the throttles over the idle detent.

topdog, not toying with you and don't listen to the haters. I was a bit skeptical myself but if you don't get 3D vision you will be missing out big time. It's only a matter of time anyway now. Looks like a big push for 3D is going down this fall anyway. Think, that's all you going to see and hear this holiday season, 3D screens everywhere except your place. Anyway, to give you a bit more info. I can't stop installing games. everything is a blast now. I would have never even played say a game like Just Cause 2 but holly shit in 3D it's amazing. You see so much more detail and the level of immersion can't be explained. much better than what you get in the theater. For one, there is 0 eye strain, no shutter at all and everything looks nice and solid. If i was getting any eye strain or it wasn't good I wouldn't be bumping it. To tell you the truth I feel like my vision has improved over the last few days, call me crazy but that's my experience. Look, I got it for $529 + taxes, and this is the kit I was talking about. http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=54802&vpn=VG236H&manufacture=ASUS This package is nvidia approved. And the monitor alone is so nice, has that glossy look so makes all your graphics that much better. controls are also very slick but read some more reviews on tiger direct and take peak at the nvidia forums. There's a big crowd now. Also nvidia is incredible when it comes to support and drivers. there is lots of control and you can tweak and adjust everything. There are custom profiles to every game and you can make your own. There some problems with cross airs in the older fps games but there are work around's and nvidia has 3d laster cursers for replacement. but newer games like BFBC2 or Just Cause2 all use proper 3d cross airs. Let me be honest, if you have a full time job, and not living pay check to pay check at less then $600 this package is the most fun thing I bought this year. Even my girl is hating on 3D because that's all I have on my mind. People say it's gimmick they don't know what they are talking about. One last thing, I'm running a quad core q9400 2.66 with 8gb ddr2, xfx mobo and sli 465 GTX and I'm getting perfect smoothing experience. So yea, if you have a semi nice system and $600 that you don't need for rent do yourself a favor and get one. You will never look back.

Can't believe how excellent this feels. I've been waiting for a new fixed wing study sim since the original release of Falcon! This is absolutely groundbreaking. The systems detail, flight modeling and handling "feel," the good looks... it's all there!

Но и проигрывать я тоже умею и признать силу противника не называя его читером у меня хватит смелости. Может ты и не нуб, но в том вылете ты летал как нуб... Я думаю что моя бабушка летает лучше чем ты, хочешь опровергнуть назначай место и время. Ты говоришь про какие то цифры? Я пока вижу что ты только говоришь, что знаешь цифры и формулы, но не вижу не одного вменяемого расчета. Про максимальные перегрузку и скорость я тебе уже сказал, у тебя пиковые значения выше чем у Topgan, секунды трека не буду называть, е если хочешь посмотри сам в десятый раз, если интересно только больше на себя смотри, а не на него. Именно у тебя макс перегрузка в пике достикает 10, 5 g, угловая скор. около 60, про абсолютную скорость вообще молчу Topgan бедняга мучался все время не мог тебя догнать всегда почти его скорость была ниже на догоне. На меня лично трек не произвел впечатления, чтобы смотреть его еще один раз. Я на треке увидел, как чувак с ИЛ2шной школой, методично разбирается с не очень опытным пилотом. Разработчики вроде прокомментировали что каких то явных отклонений нет... PS Бабушка пошла тренироваться на ботах.
