Итак, встречаем то, что наводит ужас отсутствием пафосных жк-дисплеев и будет регулярно мозолить глаза, а именно - центральную приборную панель:pilotfly: Суммарно 3 панели весят 10031 треугольников. Анимировано ВСЕ кроме светосигнального табло, ибо это тоска, рутина, и просто лень, потом доделаю:) При изменении давления на барометрическом высотомере, если приглядеться, ручка вращается:D На радиовысотомере анимирована лампа "опасная высота", по личным соображениям маркер установлен на 100м:music_whistling: Анимированы индикаторы отказа высотомеров по отключению питания, а для радивысотомера - и по предельной высоте измерения. Вроде пока все что вспомнил...))) И вопрос к ЕД по поводу прозрачных объектов. Светящиеся элементы березы, идикатор механизации, и некоторые лампочки упорно не хотят показываться в игре на переднем плане, они отрисовываются как бы за моделью кабины, в то время как индикаторы отказа курса, глиссады и индикаторы топливомера отображатся нормально на перднем плане. Все эти прозрачные и светящиеся элементы имеют один общий материал и каждый элемент был получен клонированием от такого же с целью экономии времени на анимации... В итоге во вьювере все отображается нормально, что видно на скринах, в то время как в игре часть светящихся объектов не появляются. Пробовал ставить материал standart, cockpit, но эффект один и тот же - никакой. Иерархия для всех светящихся элементов выглядит как "панель - dummy с анимацией отключения питания - индикатор". В общем я уже не знаю где искать косяк, просветите:book: зы: А в ответ тишина, что ж... )))

  2. metalnwood, seriously, if you just knew the amount of work Renato71 invested in this game (or to be exact a part of it's community) you wouldn't talk like that. Thanks to his labor he managed to quadruple the number of active Croatian members, that fly and BUY the simulations, he maintains the Croatian community forum, Croatian IL-2 and FC2 league. So even if he was trying to get some credit for his work it would be more than deserved and nobody who knows his work will think that's arrogant... Now he his sarcasm is 100 or 200 times greater than his ego, so when he mentioned why wouldn't somebody buy him a copy when they would be willing to pay 200$, he was sarcastic. On the other note 60$ is really a lot to pay for a game. Now i would much rather spend 40$ on Civilization V. Why? Because Civ V gives me thousands hours of fun just like some claim FC/DCS does for them. But with 40$ i pay I'm worthy of their time when i say i found a bug, don't have to write 5-6 huge posts to prove it's not me it's a bug, mostly fending off people who have almost no connection with the developers, i have a HUGE number of mods and conversions, the game is very open to modding. When people say it's not the same, that DCS is a simulator and everybody can play CIV 5 i say well everybody can play DCS can't they? It has an arcade mode... And about the full realism options, there is a lot of ways to make CIV 5 so difficult that you need more time and nerves than for any flight sim... Also for just 20$ more than A-10 I get the collectors edition with a lot of goodies, here i don't even get a printed manual (I KNOW it's huge, but still it would be a nice touch to get at least a part of it...) And I agree that making this an elitist simulation is just plain wrong. I don't have all the fancy peripherals I have a Saitek Aviator which was given to me by a friend, i don't have Track IR, and my headphones cost like 30HRK which equals to about 6$. Yet i really like modern jets, they are a passion for me and i spend a lot of time reading about them and watching videos. This is starting to look like Croatia or America, not an forum. Either you are totally with us or you are the heathen that wants to threaten our way of life. Here everybody takes criticism like it's a loyalty thing. And trust me the Croatian community IS loyal, but we still get treated like second class citizens because our purchasing prowess isn't on par with some of the best off here on the forum. That being said a realistic price would be about 30-40$. Simply put, Gabe Newell has a really nice point, discounts are made to increase profit, cheaper games are more likely to get considered upon purchase. Regards Arg0n.

  3. Thanks Sobek, As said above the checklists are a WIP, the normal operation sections are complete but the emergency checklists and performance data sections still have quite a lot of work to be done. Hope you all find them useful.

  5. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed any small little details that just make them like the game that much more. For instance, earlier I was just messing around and shooting stuff with the GAU8, and when I was out of ammo, I noticed on the external view, the cannon still rotates if you hold down the trigger. I thought to myself that it was maybe one of the coolest little details I've ever noticed in any game. Also, really happy to be playing this beta finally. Didn't play LOMAC, only BS and this, so I haven't had a good A-10 exprience since A-10! Cuba on my old mac. :megalol:

  6. Aaaaap! Put that flight stick down and finish reading the manual! You'll thank yourself later! If I hear one person in multi-player ask what key resets trim, I'm going to track you down and beat you with my HOTAS cable. I just pre purchased and I'm reading the manual now. I'm a 39 year old business intelligence consultant with two teenage boys. I'm usually described as 'stoic'. As I realized how complete the A-10C is in this simulation, I jumped up and belted out an excited cackle/giggle/scream that echoed out of my study and through my home. My family came running, probably thinking it was the apocalypse. I haven't been this excited since I got my first Erector Set back in the 70s. Sweet funky Moses! I'm going to finish the manual before I even fire it up. The anticipation is intoxicating. Like that first 'strap' you'd ever tried to undo. It's boggling and clumsy, and you know something better is to come, but you have to stop and revel in the moment... as it is oh so sweet! RTFM boys.. a little technical foreplay will make the flightgasm much more spectacular. Why? .. further explanation ... Update One Week Later.. my sweet reward for RTFM! .

  7. Hi, I just flew a fantastic mission armed with 6 Mavs (65H) and 4 GBU12's, I managed to lock and fire all 6 mavs at a convoy of tanks in one pass, 4 hit 2 missed. Then took the remainder out with GBU's and the GAU. However when landing, when my speed got down below 50 the Hog tipped back onto his tail and dragged his backside along the runway like a dog with worms. Spooling up the engines got her back on 3 wheels only to do it again when slowing down again. Any ideas what happened? Cheers Tom

  9. So, I'll probably get banned and yelled at by a million people after posting this, but I'm pissed. Can't even play the game because, not only does my keyboard not have a "pause/break" key on it... but I have been playing video games for 25 years and have never even effing heard of a "pause/break" effing key!!! What kind of moron developer puts that in a game? What about the "p" key? Or, hey, maybe the "/" key? Or maybe even the never used "end" key? But the "pause/break" effing key? Go eff yourselves you effing jokers... Way to go. Back to Microsoft Flight Sim Back to X-Plane 9 Never again Lock On. Never again.

  11. Argon, I see that he has 700+ posts so I would think that he has been active in the community but I don't have time to read all his posts before I comment on one or two. He didn't seem to pass it off as one flippant comment, he said it again, and then again. I don't mind someone asking if someone else will buy a game for them. Good on them if it actually happens. What I don't think is appropriate is having a go at someone else because they would not buy that game for them. We have all done things for other people in our lives, this goes nowhere when you list your credentials. There is always the quiet guy who has done ten times more than all of us. Yes I know it costs more for different people. It cost the equivalent of about $80 USD in my part of the world. It was worth it to ME. Renato71 has already said if he had the $$ hw would not buy it because it's past his monkey island 2 threshold of $30. Good for him, lets stop the complaining.

  12. Great real life demo showing the A-10's amazing performance capabiltities. Observe several things in the above video: 1) The roll rate. Time the rolls and you see roll rates in excess of 180 degrees per second. 2) The ability of the pilot to rapidly deflect the ailerons. Nearly instantaneous. 3) The phenomenal turn performance of the jet. Some comments and constructive criticism re the DCS A-10C sim (and I know it's a BETA...) 1) The roll rate is S-L-O-W. With No weps, no ammo, no flares/chaff and fuel 30% and Sub zero outside temps I get at best a roll rate of approx 81 degrees per second. (About 100 degrees per second slower than in the above demo). 2) The ailerons (and stick) in the sim move very S-L-O-W. Full deflection is nothing like in the above video of the real A-10. I hope that some of these things can be adjusted in this otherwise fantastic and extremely promising sim. :thumbup:

You must be kidding. :smilewink: People, saying that A10 is expensive, say that not because they are Scrooge McDucks, but because the price is high, if compared to their salary and amount of money they spend for essential needs. Before asking "how it can be expensive?", everyone needs to remember that price is one (so far), but not all of us are living in the same country, so perceived value of 60$ can be very different. Native English tribesmen like to say something about apples and oranges in such case. In anyway, SC2 has strong MP, in which everything needs to be very balanced or people will simply loose interest in it. This alone makes it hard to develop and requires army of testers.

  18. I think one thing your all forgetting is that all these modules start as military projects. You know the military that takes the lowest bid no matter what. 50 dollar hammers...... 500 dollar toilet seats.... See where I am going with this? When you buy a console game your buying something specifically made for a consumer market. All this was paid for by a military at probably super inflated prices and then tweaked for a consumer market. So don't even try to convince me that buying an ED product and buying an EA product are anywhere near the same thing.

  20. А вообще мне стало крайне непонятно поведение наземки. После попадания первого мэверика, танки кинулись в рассыпную, остановились и начали отстреливаться от меня пулемётами. Я сам служил в танковых, и такое поведение меня, мягко говоря, удивило. Возник вопрос, можно ли, как раньше в акуле было, включить обзор мышью+кликабильность кабины одновременно? Трекира у меня нет, а постоянно переключаться альт-с чтобы тыкнуть кнопку, потом опять альт-с чтобы крутить головой немного напрягает.

You're right though.. they'd probably just put ketchup on it... I don't mind questions, that's what half of my posts are, but understanding of the aircraft and minimal involvement in the hardware are two very different things. The manual satisfies.

  23. As per previous discussions, post your first track for posterity :) In order to inject a wee bit of fun in an otherwise serious endeavour, utilize the custom mission attached. Granted, the Hog's a wee bit bloated, but makes for an interesting flight. Let's have those tracks/clips! Your Mission - should you choose to accept it, is to Spool her up, taxi to active and take-off. Climb to Angels 2, circuit the AB and bring her back for a VFR landing.   24. Place that file in //Eagle Dynamics/DCS A-10C Beta Start A10C, go to options, then to controls. Scroll down to HOTAS under category. Click on any mapping key and "load profile" button will be available. Click that button and scroll all the way down to file named g940.lua. Hopefully, that will work. Right now other than countermeasures, I do not need extra buttons. But I also use TrackIR for view.

  26. choice is always good.. for some people pressing buttons is the worst part of the sim, for other (myself included) , it is the best part of the sim :) The best solution is what they've done for the KA50, and that's an auto-start script option

Уважаемые разработчики, понимаю что ВЕТА версия еще сырая и имеет какие-то нестыковки , баги,... в связис этим у меня есть вопрос информацию о найденных багах выкладывать здесь? , или где то в другом месте. Хотя возможно вы и сами знаете где у вас что нужно подкрутить и исправить, но ИМХО с нашей помощью (т.е. тех кто приобрел БЕТУ) вам будет легче. А вообще, я вот тока пару часов назад поставил, и начал летать понемногу, еще без джойстика и трекира, но даже несмотря на то что ваша работа над А-10 еще незавершена, МНЕ ОЧЕНЬ ПОНРАВИЛОСЬ. :) ПРОСТО РЕСПЕКТИЩЕ ОГРОМНОЕ ЗА ВАШ ТРУД.:thumbup: Самолет отличный, динамика, графика. Симулятор очень сильно изменился в лучшую сторону. Если все ваша затея с добавлением ЛА будет выполненна, и все будет удачно с реализациями, думаю мы получим офигительный симулятор. :drink: И кстати полетав на А-10, я теперь стал лучше понимать что действительно всякие там навороты геймплейновские, на самом деле не так важны как моделирование ЛА и его систем. Когда сидишь в самолете и смотришь на всякие панелики, тумблеры, на то как ведет себя самолте в полете понимаешь какая кропотливая и большая работа была проделана :smoke:

  29. Your statement is flawed at so many levels. So it looks like I get to be the devils advocate for all the other genre's of gaming.... again! You know, they aren't quite the same type of game, but they do share stuff in common. I'm not going to list the DOZENs of features that SC2 has that are not present within DCS. So let me compare just two areas that are actually shared between SC2 and ED flight sims. 1. A world editor that is not simply just a sandbox of a pre-built world, but you can create your own maps and modify several unit properties to drastically change the game you are playing. People have developed countless tower defense games, First (Third) person shooters, rpgs, racing games, and even recreated "RISK" using the SC2 world editor. Lockon/DCS gives you pre-built maps where you just place units. Extra triggers can add depth and variety, but in terms of "making the game play differently" it took 400+ triggers just to create a "King of the Hill" gamemode and even then it was the same game. 2. Story telling and everything related. Flight Sims have terrible stories, its practically a requirement within the genre. Also the story telling process is generally lacking. OOOoooohhh a bunch of text in a briefing with some pictures and some audio in the mission itself. You feel incredibly detached from the world within an ED flight sim. When you think about it, there is more story structure in the machinima created by Glowing Amramm or Ruggbutt. I'm not knocking them, I'm just saying that when you put music with expertly edited video you do get a sense of "story" out of it, so much so that it is actually greater than the sense of story found within the game itself. As for story and cinematics in SC2 (or any Blizzard game)... well to compare them to Pixar is not an understatement. I reckon it was more expensive to develop because Blizzard has at least 40 times the number of employees to pay than ED does, plus it was in development since 2003. As for difficulty to develop, I wish I worked at blizzard so I could tell you, but I don't, so I'll just take a guess. If making a sequel to one of the most successful and beloved RTS games ever created is an "easy" task, the game would have been out a LOOONG time ago. There is nothing more difficult in creating something than being incredibly successful the first time and then having to live up to the expectations for each subsequent product because of that initial success. There I'm done.

  34. It's a matter of discretionary income. No matter what the perceived value of the game is, there is a limit to how much any given individual can spend on it. Evidently you have more to spend. Congratulations. However, that doesn't make the cost of the game any less for others. If the price point is higher than the average consumer can afford, neither you nor anyone else will have any games from ED to play in the future, because there won't be enough sales volume. $100 x 100 is a helluva lot less than $60 x 10000. Be careful of turning your nose up at simmers who are on a budget. They subsidize your hobby. Unless you and the 100 other people for whom money is no obstacle plan on paying all of the development, support and distribution costs on your own.

A procedure to get >perfect< videos out of DCS/FC 2.0 (WIP) *********************************** :beer:Big thanks go to helpful people from VideoHelp.com Forum - poisondeathray, jagabo and others! Whenever I talk geeky about video encoding and editing it's thanks to their help :) *********************************** General idea - use Record AVI tool advantages (see the initial post), get lossless output, work in lossless format, (at the end) compress lossless format with lossy extreme quality x264 codec: DCS/FC 2.0 Mission Editor: Flight - Record AVI -> select a track PNG sequence + WAV, 100% quality, (for youtube HD->) 30 FPS, 1280x720 VirtualDUB: Open the first image from the sequence. It will load the whole sequence autom. VirtualDUB: Video -> Full processing mode AND Audio -> Direct stream copy VirtualDUB: Audio -> Audio from other file -> select the WAV audio file generated by DCS (at this point you can already use the VirtualDUB's full editing capabilities and/or save the file as AVI for YouTube) VirtualDUB: Video -> Compression -> Lagarith lossless codec -> Configure -> Mode: RGB (default) + enable Multithreading VirtualDUB: File -> Save as AVI (now we have a video in lossless format of both video and audio) Do video editing of any kind and in any application on the created lossless video. When it's ready to be produced (final work, publishing, uploading to YouTube etc.) proceed to the next step x264 GUI (XviD4PSP, Handbrake etc.) -> compress the final lossless video using x264 (video) and AAC (audio) extreme quality presets. If you're a perfectionist you may produce your video using lossless codec accepted by YouTube. The only lossless codec I've tested with YouTube so far is CamStudio lossless codec that comes with CamStudio freeware screen recording software (suitable for desktop recording only - not in-game recordings, although the codec is universal). Done! The final effect should be at least as good as these Please keep in mind that: - I would never be able to capture such a smooth video on my rig using any other capturing method. Again - if I'd choose 100 FPS output the Record AVI tool would happily produce that smooth 100 FPS video for me. Get it?! :D - these are beginnings Disk space limitations Converting PNG sequence to lossless video format you will work with will obviously require HDD space for both (the sequence can be deleted only after it has been converted, obviously). The simple solution is to convert PNG sequences from fragments of our track one by one e.g.: - first 10 minutes of a track file to PNG sequence - PNG sequence conversion to lossless video format - PNG sequence deletion - next 10 minutes of a track file to PNG sequence - ... and so on. A piece of advice for those who would like to begin the Record AVI adventure - in the Record AVI tool window select the start and ending time to get an output from 20 seconds maximum. You don't need more to see how it works and it will be reasonably fast to render. Also make some notes of the filesizes for your 20 s videos. It might shock you a bit :D Why lossless compresion? PNG (lossless c.) vs JPG (lossy c.) example that applies to videos too Additionally each time you save lossy compressed file into another lossy compressed file the quality degrades further (e.g. each JPG to JPG save). Same with video and audio formats using lossy compression. PNG (or HuffYUV for video) will reamin pixel to pixel identical to the source file no matter how many times you save it. __________________________________ What is the best lossless codec for editing? __________________________________ Color space conversions = loss of quality. How to prevent it? Is it hard to achieve? Lossless formats workflow can still suffer from loss of quality due to color space conversions. :baby:The solution does not look complicated...   40. Почему то ты этот трек не выложил, выложи - пусть все посмотрят другой трек будут ли там перегрузки выше чем надо или нет. Ты утверждаешь что чувак читерил, в 1 полете, а во втором значит все было правильно? Ты думаешь что он проигрывая не стал бы использовать чит? Или может админы включили проверку файлов? Надеюсь ты не чувак с повышенным ЧСВ, который считает что, если он побеждает то значит это в порядке вещей, а если проигрывает значить противник либо читак либо задрот. Просто такие сплошь и рядом встречаются, чуть чуть научился убивать бота и сразу в асы лезет. Лично мне кажется, что просто надо чуть чуть потренироваться и все будет хокей. Извини но, на треке ты как <s>нуб</s> начинающий летал в карусели. А этот ваш читак, видимо что то понимает в маневренном бою, видна ИЛ2шная школа, я бы с ним полетал.
