1. Greetings all. The Pre- Purchase release by ED for the A10-C is for some of us, a very early Xmas present! :joystick: The fidelity, thought, research, blood sweat tears and of course time, that has gone into this project so far is incredible. Some are having problems with it; Hardware conflicts, low / poor frame rates and 'bugs' that appear seemingly randomly, but to be fair, ED did not hide this on release. The Open Beta channel has been setup for us to post our thoughts and problems and works alongside ED's closed Beta as a way of gathering appropriate information to be addressed in future patches.:thumbup: Wags recently announced that there will be no more producer notes for the A10C due to ill health (good luck with op!) and there being not enough of a commodity that is valuable in business - time. There will however, be interactive information missions and these (IMHO) will undoubtedly dot the i's and cross the 'T''s. Until the Retail release however, There's some excellent videos on you tube on how to FLY, NAVIGATE and ENGAGE with the A10C and you will want to augment these, on to your own training regime. I would like to offer you my own series of IVS. Currently It is all ENGAGEMENT orientated and may offer some clarity with regards to the employment of some weapon systems. This Series is Ideal if you want continuity of instruction, rather than a million different methods, voices, quality of format and instruction, etc. All videos are available in HD 720p. Please use that and full screen. Pause for 1 minute after selecting 720p if neccessary, for buffering. Annotations are in use. Just doing my part. Please Enjoy them. Thanks. 5. As in topic. So we can keep everything in one thread. Only use this thread if you actually have problem with your TW. If you want to chit chat. Keep it in a separate thread. Thank you. *Now im just waiting for my hoggy to arrive. Probably on Tuesday :)* Q: Slew hat is way too sensitive! A: Q: Can i use my TW without T.A.R.G.E.T. software? A: Yes, both DCS: Black Shark and DCS: A-10C is plug and play. Q: T.A.R.G.E.T RC 22 10 will not run in Win7 64-bit? A: Carry out the following workaround: Provided by CrashEd If/when this thread grow beyond 2 pages, i will update this post will all Q&A's.

 6. Can't seem to find the right place to post user made missions, so I'll try here. :) This is a short and sweet landing practice mission, 6 minutes of simple fun. :) (Click the image to download the mission)

 7. Ok, let me start off by underlining that I like to fly realistic missions, but I know a lot of people would like to take the A-10C out of the mud and make it a fighter, do dogfights or whatever. I say if you want to "misuse" the plane :D, at least do it right. So I open this thread for pics, videos, tracks of "special employment" of the A-10, lucky shots, trickshots. Have fun.

 8. With a bit of luck, Amazon will be delivering my TMWH any day now, and I would very much like to donate my MINT Saitek X52PRO to someone who really fancies one, but genuinely can't afford to buy one. I was thinking of allsorts of ideas of how to go about this and in the end, I figured I'd pull a name out of the hat!! To get your name into the "hat", you just need to make a small donation to Martin House Children's Hospice (they looked after my son). When filling in their donation-page, please put "Michael McQuiggan" in the " In Memory Of " field. Delivery to the UK Mainland will be arranged by me and will be completely free. Sadly, delivery overseas must be paid for by the other party (Interparcel are good for this). So, drop me a PM and let me know that you made your donation to the hospice - then your name's in the hat! The winner will be drawn next Sunday (7th Nov) If I've overlooked something, please let me know. Regards, Tom. UPDATE : UPDATE: UPDATE: I'm also going to include my FULL COLOUR Black Shark printed manuals!!!! Go on, take a chance and make a small donation. And don't worry, I won't don't want to know how much you gave - any small amount helps the hospice (they don't get government funding!).

 17. Хорошо. Покажу на примере БМД-1. Открываем папку ..1C\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Database\vehicles\IFV В ней находим файл bmd-1.lua Открываем любым текстовым редактором (хоть и "блокнотом"), но если нужно редактировать, то лучше использовать Notepad++ В файле видим следующее: -- weapon systems GT.WS = {} GT.WS[inc_ws()] = {} set_recursive_metatable(GT.WS[ws], WS_2A28_GROM) GT.WS[ws].newZ = true GT.WS[ws].center = 'CENTER_TOWER' GT.WS[ws].LN[1].BR[1].connector_name = 'POINT_GUN' GT.WS[ws].LN[3].BR[1].connector_name = 'POINT_MGUN' GT.WS[ws].LN[3].fireAnimationArgument = 45т.е. БМД-1 использует оружейную систему 2А28 "Гром" Находим файл ..\1C\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Database\scripts\weapon_systems.lua открыв который видим, что в данной системе вооружения используется пусковая установка для ПТУР "Малютка": WS_2A28_GROM.LN[2] = {} set_recursive_metatable(WS_2A28_GROM.LN[2], WS_Malutka_launcher) WS_2A28_GROM.LN[2].major_weapon = true WS_2A28_GROM.LN[2].BR[1].pos = {1.4, 0.2, 0}Теперь нам нужен файл D:\Games\1C\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Database\scripts\missile.lua Недалеко от начала файла видим нужный нам кусок: S_Malutka_launcher = {} -- 9M14 Malutka (AT-3 "Sagger") for BMP-1, BMD-1 WS_Malutka_launcher.type = 33 WS_Malutka_launcher.pos = {-0.099, 1.753,0} WS_Malutka_launcher.xc = 0.512 WS_Malutka_launcher.distanceMin = 100 WS_Malutka_launcher.distanceMax = 3000 WS_Malutka_launcher.max_trg_alt = 3000 WS_Malutka_launcher.reactionTime = 2 WS_Malutka_launcher.type_ammunition={4,4,11,127} WS_Malutka_launcher.show_external_missile = false WS_Malutka_launcher.ammunition_reserve = 3 WS_Malutka_launcher.sound = { single_shot = "MissileLaunch", } WS_Malutka_launcher.sensor = {} set_recursive_metatable(WS_Malutka_launcher.sensor, WSN_0) WS_Malutka_launcher.PL = {} WS_Malutka_launcher.PL[1] = {} WS_Malutka_launcher.PL[1].shot_delay = 1 WS_Malutka_launcher.PL[1].ammo_capacity = 1 WS_Malutka_launcher.PL[1].reload_time = 30 WS_Malutka_launcher.BR = { {pos = {1.366, 0.237,0}, drawArgument = 4 } } Чтобы узнать количество боеприпасов, и время перезарядки смотрим на строки: WS_Malutka_launcher.ammunition_reserve = 3 (кол-во запасных ПТУРов) WS_Malutka_launcher.PL[1].ammo_capacity = 1 (кол-во ПТУРов на пусковой установке) WS_Malutka_launcher.PL[1].reload_time = 30 (время перезарядки в секундах) Таким образом мы выяснили, что у БМД-1 есть один готовый к стрельбе ПТУР и еще 3 запасных, которые БМД может пускать с интервалом 30 секунд. Для остальной техники можно найти по образу и подобию.

 18. That won't be a problem in the next beta, I stupidly decided to test this on a return from a successful mission. I don't know why it popped into my head, an hour into a mission, but it did and I can confirm they are now very solid. Nate

 28. wow only had it crash at the end, never at the beginning.. In any case, changing the start time for the mission doesnt help because it changes everything else that is based on time as well. The best you can do if you cannot make it to the runway in time is start yourself from the runway at 11:44:30. you can find your plane easy in the unit list tooltip, group name is "player". The mission will still start at 11:38 but as soon as your time for take-off is up it will change view to your cockpit.

 35. CDU docs start on page 167, but it goes through the CDU page by page and you'll probably go mad if you try to read it all in one go. The info about entering waypoints is in the WAYPOINT Sub-Page section on page 230. Basically, select the menu, stpt or waypoint information page on the CDU, click the button on the left next to "->WAYPOINT", click the button on the right next to "?3*" to add a new waypoint (the number will depend on the number of waypoints you already have), and voila, new waypoint. You can then enter a name for it and its position. The L/L button on the right hand side toggles the coordinate system. Straightforward to use once you know how to find that page. I think Military_grid_reference_system is a better reference for the coordinate system the JTACs use.

 36. Your flying looks good. Very smooth and controlled I thought. You even asked for start and taxi. You used the PVI also for WP. I usually just look at the arbris. For Taxi, you probably had too much collective and were near lift off. Could not see how much you had. Just add collective till rolling then you can pretty much take it all the way down. Its not a race car so it will tip over if you taxi too fast. I dont know why you could not lock the tanks. I took control and had the same issues. Once they stopped I could not really lock them easily either. After a while of messing with it I finally did and took them out. Makes me miss BS actually. I may fire it up again soon to take a break from the head aches of A10 beta.

 37. I briefly worked for an airline that lost a CRJ due to a high-altitude upset that resulted in a dual-flameout. For those who aren't aware, the CRJ has the same basic engine as the A-10. After stalling at FL410, the airplane experienced pitch and roll oscillations that resulted in high pitch attitude (~30 degrees), high alpha (~30 degrees), low airspeed (75KIAS), and high power setting (98% N1). The net result of this was a dual-flameout and subsequent "core lock" of the engines. Core lock is when the N2/HPT spool is physically prevented from rotating due to physical contact between rotating and stationary parts caused by rapid differential cooling experienced during engine failure/shutdown at high thrust or ITT/EGT. During the upset, the engines suffered N1 rollback and stagnation, followed by flameout. Because of the extremely low airspeed, the #2 engine ITT spiked above 1250*C. The engine was so hot, that the HPT blades melted and lost 80% of their surface area. The molten metal actually flowed aft into the LPT section where it resolidified into long strands. So yeah, heed those Dash-1 warnings concerning engine disturbance and flameout susceptibility regions. It will ruin your day. You can read about the accident here: http://www.ntsb.gov/events/2005/pinnacle/exhibits/default.htm

 39. It sounds like your airspeed may have been dangerously low. You want to be flying an emergency landing at a higher airspeed than you normally would, between 150-180 to be safe. Apply max throttle and make sure to yaw with your rudder pedals INTO the good engine. Do not extend speed brakes and leave flaps at ten degrees. Maintain SHALLOW bank angles if you have to turn. Do you know what it was that caused your engine to fail? Did you have a random failure condition set up in the Mission Editor?

 40. It's interesting to watch this tribute of the F-16 Fighting Falcon - The "Skull Vipers", and deployment of different weapon systems. I don't know if it's of any value for someone, but here's a rundown of the events: 1:37 Deployment of CBU, impact of CBU, effects from above / below. 2:30 Deployment of JDAM(?), flight characteristic, deployment of canisters. 3:14 GBU? deployment and accuracy. 3:20 AGM-65? deployment effects. 3:49 AGM(?) impact effects ground vehicle. 3:54 AGM-88(?) ignition effects, motor lighting effects. And accuracy. 5:00 Onwards, Air-to-air. 6:10+ Initial motor ignition of AIM-9, flight character & effects can be observed. 6:27+ Splash/impacts on drones, more launch effects 7:00 near-splash. 7:10+ AIM-120(?), smoke and motor. 7:45 Splash, breaking up. 7:57 AIM-120 motor ignition effect. 8:07 Proximity, splash. 8:18 AIM-120 motor ignition, better. 8:25 another splash, burning out of the skies. Explodes at 8:37 8:47 AIM-120 motor ignition, from cockpit.

 41. And to continue this macmall thing. Macmall actually called me out of the blue today to tell me my warranty on my macbook pro I ordered from them a year ago is about to expire! They wanted to sell me a 3 year warranty, which I quickly shot down. I didn't think to ask them about the TM HOTAS though lol. I'm waiting to see if newegg or amazon get it. Compare prices and stock, and go from there. If that fails, maybe from macmall then.

 45. Wow! I cannot find words to describe how I feel about Black Shark. I am going to have a lot of questions, but right now the foremost one in my mind is, “Where have you guys been hiding?!?!?” I am a long-time flight sim enthusiast and especially of military sims going all the way back to at least Falcon AT. Work has been really busy lately so I’ve been away from my beloved Falcon 4.0 for a few months, but went online to see what the Open Falcon guys have been up to, upgrade to the latest, etc., and get a few missions in now that I have some time again. But, trolling the forums I see a reference to “DCS Black Shark” – hum, don’t know what that is, so I do a bit of searching and find the DCS website and start reading. Sounds pretty cool, I think, must be somebody’s dream project that will never come true. But wait, what’s this? It’s for sale?? Can’t be real – must be some watered down, bug-riddled third-rate try at a new combat sim. But man, does it ever look cool… So I venture into the forums, and soon start thinking I must be dreaming. And then I found the manual – all 534 pages of it! Then I started dis-believing again – NO sim could really do all of this. Then I found the Developer’s Journal videos – incredible! Could it be? Could it?? Could it really be true??? When I got home from work last night I tore the credit card from my wallet, purchased, downloaded and installed. Still disbelieving that this thing could actually be all it appeared I anxiously loaded the program, activated and went into the tutorial missions. The next thing I knew it was midnight, I hadn’t eaten and the dog was begging for her “evening” walk. I just cannot tell you how happy I am that I found this, great job DCS! I still cannot believe Black Shark has been out for over a year and it took me until now to find it – I must be working too hard or something – OK, enough of that – first question: I downloaded the PDF manual before installing, and see that after installing I have PDF manuals in the doc folder as well. The manual I downloaded is named DCS-BS_Manual_EN.pdf and is 534 pages. The main manual installed with the game is named DCS-BS_Flight_Manual_eng.pdf, is 383 pages and has a file date of 8 Dec 2008. Can anybody tell me if one is more up to date than the other? Has there been a manual update since the 1.0.1c patch? Thanks and, and especially DCS – I thought I would have some time on my hands, but with Black Shark that’s all over now. :cry: Zenra
