Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Unified Release A new era begins For the past several years, we have released DCS in two forms: the Open Beta, which includes the most recent changes to allow broad testing and the Stable version which is based on the most recent Open Beta and has no known crashes, thus the term Stable. In 2024, we will be moving to unified DCS updates. This change has been a common customer request and will streamline our release process. We believe that it will also help avoid version confusion for both single-player missions and multiplayer servers. Starting with our first update of the year in February, we will also be making the same changes to the DCS Steam Edition. Please stay tuned for more details. AviaStorm’s Tornado Development Progress Five 3D artists are currently working on the project, which involves significant personnel commitment. This investment will result in a module that meets your expectations. AviaStorm has had the opportunity to examine many small details of this aircraft for the level of detail that DCS demands. Such details may not initially stand out, or even be noticed by most customers, but they are crucial in the context of creating a masterpiece that is the Tornado.   4. There will always be bugs, the complexity of what we do can not be under estimated. We have a much better internal testing process now and the main thing is no known crashes into the public build. But we will still need to be flexible and use your feedback and reports to guide us. Hotfix can happen if required still. thanks

  9. QA and internal testing has improved a lot recently, this has helped in our decision to move to a unified version for public versions, it has been requested a lot in the community. We still have dev versions and closed beta testing, but your feedback and reports will continue to shape DCS and we are grateful for that.

  12. Hi Dear friends and pilots. We are testing a new update and solving current optimization problems. As it turned out, doing more is quite problematic. But we can handle it. I'll share some new screenshots from Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Cairo, Alexandria and Eliat. New airfields are already being tested. We'll be ready for an update soon. Not only will more new unique places and airfields be added, but bugs that were listed after Early Access. Early access gave us good experience, which will help us avoid many mistakes in the future.   13. С помощью странных миссий, в том числе модов, которые ЕД не поддерживает, Growling Sidewinder видимо привлек много новых юзеров в ДКС. Американцы несут предзаказы, банкет продолжается. Надо понимать, что игры теперь делаются для блогеров, которые накручивают предзаказы, а что в итоге выходит - уже никому не важно. Я рад, что ДКС так же следует этому прогрессивному методу, ибо только за ним светлое будущее топ-менеджеров

Really silly thing to say, of course we care, but we also have to provide servers with the ability to prevent cheaters, sadly some people feel the need to cheat and fake their skill and ruin it for others. Servers can decide what level of integrity check to use, if they wish to allow edits or scripts they can. As for the "monopoly" there is a reason for that, it is difficult to do what we do, and we have continued for many years where others have failed. We may in the future look to make it easier for people who export for genuine reason using scripts when the server is using pure scripts, but I have no time line for it. thanks

  16. Why does editing your counter measures programs via CMDS_ALE47.lua break integrity check now? Never used to. Since DCS doesn't have a DTC why force people to edit their CMS programs manually every time they hop in a new jet? What is the point of that?

  19. I had the privilege to know and converse with one of the Ukrainian Fulcrum Drivers. In one of chats we had, he described 'day in a life" where he would fly three sorties one after another, with re-arm / refuel and quick visual inspection / BDA check. When you imagine all the training, like road strip operations training, it is that in fact - land, grab a bite and off you go for another one!

  25. added data plate, exhaust heat discoloration and fuel leak discoloration. not too sure about the exhaust heat discoloration. there is some pics around showing a faint tint, but by the looks of the the soot-y fuel exhaust would actually just layer on top of it and only the parts in direct contact with the exhaust flames would get adirect - white discoloration.

  26. The reason for the above is that Grumman made the mistake of abandoning the F6F in favor of the F8 Bearcat. F6F served till the end of the war with only two day variants, the latter of which F6F-5 was not much different than the original 1943 one, performance wise. The bearcat on the other hand completely neglected fighter-bomber capabilities, which meant that after the war it quickly became obsolete as a fighter with no other roles to justify its continued service. F6F was better than the Corsair in what mattered the most: being there when the battle happened! While the Corsair was still struggling to qualify for carriers and Vought were producing them slowly, Grumman were pumping out 600 carrier-capable Hellcats per month from a single factory to replace the F4F Wildcat as the primary USN fighter. The down side of that is that you don’t stop the production line for upgrades. Pumping out more Hellcats was more important than better Hellcats. In the end, it doesn’t matter how fast you fly or how tight your turn is when the battle happens without you.

  34. Посмотрел последние "новости". Я тут один не разобрался, что является вкладом Growling Sidewinder в проект DCS? Перешел по ссылке на Ютуб, оттуда на их магазин... Вроде ролики они какие-то делают ну и футболками торгуют. Я так понимаю - если играешь в футболке от Growling Sidewinder, то "игровой процесс становится интереснее" Правильно? И где вообще эти "подробности" про "промо-акцию с эксклюзивными дисконтами на отобранные игровые модули"? По ссылке из "новостей" не увидел вообще ничего, кроме роликов и магазина футболок. Плохо искал?

  38. Glaub mir, wenn du einmal in ultrawide gezockt hast, gibt's kein zurück mehr zu 16:9, egal in welchem Genre. Es passt einfach viel besser zum natürlichen Blickfeld deiner Augen. Wenn du Bedenken wegen des vertikalen Sichtfeldes hast, ziehe einen 38" Monitor in Erwägung. Der ist fast so hoch wie der 16:9 32" Monitor.

  40. I suppose nobody else remembers collecting cereal box tops and mailing them in for some awesome thing like a little toy 747 shortly after it started flying? First you have to eat all that cereal, then get your parents to put the box tops in an envelope with the form cut off the back of a box, then put it in the mail. Then you wait and wait and wait because tracking numbers and overnight delivery were still decades away... We're talking months of waiting here, which at that age is a significant fraction of your total life experience, not to mention you've only eaten one kind of cereal all year; 8 box tops is a lot. Then there's the doubt; maybe the post office lost the letter? What if you wrote out your address wrong on the form? What if... I figure the F-4 will arrive eventually, and I'll probably be around to see it, and two weeks after that it will get about as much use as the toy 747 that took so long to arrive back before Neil Armstrong did whatever that was that made him famous. I don't get tons of sim time and there are other priorities when I do, so it will have to share. Honestly, this reminds me of the F-14 release. All that anticipation, then it came out. A day after that the novelty wore off, and apart from the few dedicated Tomcatters it's just another jet in the hanger. A very, very cool jet to be sure, but so are the others. We'll see how the F-4 fares against all that competition once the novelty wears off.

  42. The F-4E project is a complex release involving a brand new module, new Jester AI, backfilled updates to HeatBlur’s existing modules, and addition of new weapons to the game. The honest release date is “when it’s done”. That won’t be two weeks. It may be two more years. Either way, I’m ready when they are.

  44. But I have to wonder: what would change for us, as customers, to know such a status? The Module would not arrive any sooner, and we would perhaps be placing additional stress onto the development team, for no real benefit. I simply try not to think about this aircraft, choosing instead to enjoy what DCS is already providing me with

I will try to explain the problem with this map in pictures: No bridge to cross one of the largest cities in the Nile Delta, Mansourah, supposed to be a real road crossroads : No bridge at Shirbin too, another city on the Damietta Branch of the Nil : In Damahur, there is the bare minimum to cross the largest rivers, but practically nothing to cross the small rivers. 80% of the bridges are missing! And all this for the major cities of the Nile Delta... There are practically no bridges in the smaller cities or in the inter-urban space! Consequences on pathfinding with a practical case: I take a vehicle on the coast and I want to go to waypoint 1, south of El Mansura: Despite direct roads, there is no major bridge around the city, the convoy is obliged to do a very large detour to the West and the South between Tanta and Al Zaqazik I now want to take my convoy to Waypoint 2 : New Damietta. While with the expected routes passing through El Mansura (there would be 65 km of road), the convoy will literally take a 200 km detour passing next to Al Salihiyah, the Suez Canal and passing through Port Said!!! Ok. Well, I want to go back to El Mansoura for my Waypoint 3, but this time, I'm going to stay on the same side of the Nile, I could probably hope for a direct route since I'm not crossing any major rivers..... And Well no ! Even so, the lack of bridges over simple small streams forces my vehicle to make a huge detour, returning through my origin point. It is practically impossible on this map to have a fairly direct route because of the quantity of waterways and the total lack of bridges!!! And for my last waypoint 4, I'm going to push the pathfinding problem of this map to the absurd: As the crow flies, my waypoint 3-4 is 35 km. By road, it is practically the same distance theoretically since there is a direct route between these 2 waypoints. But the lack of a bridge will force you to make a detour of around 160 km! These absurd pathfinding problems can be reproduced almost anywhere in the Nile Delta, making this map a real headache for a missionmaker in order to determine convoy routes, or coherent road axes. However, it would not take much to solve this problem: Simply the addition of a hundred bridges scattered at least in all the major or secondary cities of the delta, and on all river routes. For me this problem should be the ABSOLUTE PRIORITY of OnReTech, because in my eyes it is considerably more important than adding more details to the pyramids, adding new types of trees or buildings... The map must be PRACTICAL, otherwise, it will be shunned by missionmakers. It doesn't seem to me that these additions are that complicated to make, but their importance is crucial for the appreciation of the map! I wanted to do some dynamic missions on this new map which excited me and which I found magnificent: I quickly returned to the Syria map, because I couldn't do what I wanted due to the total lack of bridges... It's a shame for a suh beautiful map!! We are not only fly over the Delta. We make CAS missions for Helicopter and CAS plane. So the roads must be pratical for convoy!
