And a lot of countries use FA-18C's with equipment we will never see in our FA-18C because the US never used it....same situation. Contact ED and offer them to pay for the development of a F-16xy from country z which corresponds with the F-16 version you like most.

For everybody finding stuff that doesn't look right atm. just to remind you that these things are probably placeholders/WIP! Heck in the DCS:Syria pre-order trailer 2 weeks ago the flying MI-24P had not even an spinning tail rotor..... Edit: Just for clarification, what i wanted to say, don't tear apart the module yet because of WIP/teaser pics/videos we get to see now, wait with that after the EA release.

** AJS-37 Changelog / Update Master List **
unknown replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Could you all please stop feeding the TROLL(Scandfox) and responding to him with full quotes? My ignore list would appreciate that very much, thank you in advance @ all  -
Redeye is always mentioned in relation to this system. It's a relative simple construction and the groundcrew has to setup the "IR-modulation frequency" for the expected IR-missile before takeoff. I don't know if your browser can translate a german website to english but anyway here is the link: https://www.nva-flieger.de/index.php/technik/bewaffnung/infrarot-stoereinrichtungen.html

Yes there are flare dispenser on the MI-24, also on the MI-8. Attached is a picture, the old style of attaching them was under the tail boom with tension straps, the newer style is behind the wings.

Will a M.2 Drive allow DCS to run smoother?
unknown replied to ouseler's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Which nvidia driver are you using? If you use a 45x.xx driver try an older one. For example the latest 451.67 whql driver from nvidia has following issue: "Several games randomly freeze for a few seconds during gameplay. Affected games include Assassin's Creed Origins, Planetside 2, Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. [3038632]" -
Did you miss to uncage the thottle? Or like hamza_Khan said, are you pressing the button long enough? I just tested it in the latest OB(stable is the same version atm) and had no problem doing a cold start without ground power. Could you post a track of your cold start attampt?

Very quick test in 2d(monitor not VR) because i have not much time right now, Batumi airport: - on ramp cold and dark - fps stable at 121 - turning on battery, flashing warning lights - fps jumps 101-110 - closing the canopy, flashing warning lights - fps jumps 80-88 - starting at the same location with "hot on ramp", same view/time - fps at 88/89 Thats totally fine for me in 2d/monitor, my problem is only in VR. Turning on battery and closing the canopy drops my fps to 31-33(thats below the 40 fps of the Rift S and it's very unpleasend with stuttering). Not that much any more with my new setting(in signature + PD set to 1.3 instead of 1.6) but still worse than other modules F-14/16/18. Atleast my fps are back up at 40(VR, most of the time) in the air with the new settings. I don't know if you can do something about it, but it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. No, it was a quick test with time acceleration in game. I was curious because in my AG test mission i fly the JF-17 for 30-60min(realtime) with rearming and i couldn't remember seeing that problem(but that's SP, i don't know if there is a difference with MP) :dunno:
-
track is attached, you can see it yourself(i don't know if the track also plays back my time acceleration). That leaves just some options: - battle damage? - used the chute but forget to put the switch back from cut to neutral? - forgot the valve/tube? - problem with MP/server/mission/bug? It's hard to tell without a track :dunno:
-
I did a quick test with the ME: - caucasus - default weather - air start at +41k feet - time acceleration on Result: - oxy gauge needle touched the yellow area after ~75min - oxy gauge needle touched the red area after ~95min - oxy gauge needle touched zero at ~120min - blackout of pilot at ~140-143min ( i believe Deka said there is a second reserve bottle in the plane) all tested in latest OB non steam version oxy_test.trk

This picture is used on the webpage nva-flieger.de. On that page they also state that you can use atgm from hover but the problem is reduced precision because of vibrations. On the same page i found also the statement: in Hover: no unguided rockets, bombs, cluster bombs and "fire containers" https://www.nva-flieger.de/index.php/taktik/arfk/angriffsverfahren-gefechtsordnung.html (german) I must have overlooked that back in the days i visited that website, so question answered i guess. Me too!

I didn't even watch it at all(just skipped over it) because 140p, i only see pixels which should represent an Mi-28. I'm not claiming my guess is true but i never read about rocket pods having a minimum launch speed, that's why i asked if S.E.Bulba can clarify on this some more, i can read cyrillic but i can't understand it. All i read about that was from a book regarding the MI-24 about the S-8 rocket "...exhaust gases from the rocket might enter the air intake of the aircraft and cause engine failure, measures were also demanded to prevent such an occurrende from happening. This was achieved by development of the new...rocket pods." Maybe my english isn't that good and i just don't understand that text/misinterpreted it or it's a wrong statement? :dunno: Edit: On the other hand, every YT video i saw of a Mi-24 firing rockets the Mi-24 was on the move. I never thought about it much because thats what it was designed for instead of hiding behind trees and sniping tanks.

Ofcourse not, how should i play as a RIO in SP??? I spend 99% of my DCS time in SP because all people i know like to fly on my PC in VR for some time to enjoy the ride/feeling but they are not interested in investing a lot of money in a high end PC + VR + HOTAS/Rudder for something they don't consider their hobby. So you are right, i don't know what it's like to be a RIO and have to handle the radar, i can only speak for my experinces in single seat aircraft and helicopter. Does this make me a person not worth flying the F-14 or share my experience as "F-14 Pilot"? And it wasn't even a maneuvering bandit(fighter) it was a circling IL-76 and he was not able to regain lock, i had to do it myself. I'm so "afraid" of jester loosing lock that i don't even bother to shoot my aim-7 because i know 90+% of the time he will loose lock while the missile is in flight. Maybe this sounds like a rant, it's not intended as one. I like what HB did, i appreciate their work and am glad they gone the extra mile implementing Jester. And it's not bothering me as much as it may sound, i bought the F-14 in the first place to support HB and am hoping that they can do the A-6 as a DCS module, hunting SAM/AAA and ground pounding is what i do the most in DCS. There are better suited aircraft in DCS for that role but from time to time i like to ride in that F-14 and shoot some sitting ducks, but because i'm not able to use the radar/systems(as pilot) as i like compared to single seat jets i will stay shoot sitting ducks in the F-14 and go for a single seater for AA combat.

From what i read the Mi-24 suffers from vibration on lower speeds and hover thus reducing accuracy, so that it was prefered to fire on the move to increase accuracy. So nothing prevents you from shooting in a hover but don't expect to snipe something. Maybe S.E.Bulba can clarify on this some more. ;)

Progress pictures on the Eurofighter Typhoon
unknown replied to DashTrueGrit's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
Thanks for sharing  I'm looking forward to fly this beauty! :joystick::D -
I like Jester but tbh Mr. "I lost lock" is sometimes just  So, you lost lock Jester and you are unable to lock it again, but you point the freaking camera at it, i can see him on the monitor but you're unable to lock him with the radar? Let me click this button, oh look Jester, i was able to lock that enemy within 1 second.....i hope they fix that, because besides that i like jester  No, as far as i understand the problem is with "shared cockpits"-> sitting side by side like in the helos where both human players have the ability to click on the same buttons and have the same controls(flying) -> syncing the inputs is the problem. In aircrafts like the F-14 this is not so much a problem, everybody has its own control inputs. I would not buy any two seater without any sort of AI.

Update 2: It looks like the JF-17 doesn't like if i run Pixel Density(PD) at 1.6. I used to run 1.6 without problems in DCS 2.5.5 version but with 2.5.6 and the cockpit work it looks like this is to much for the JF-17, again no problems in other modules running PD=1.6. I lowered it to 1.3 and it now works most of the time ok for the Jeff(stuttering mostly gone). On the bright side, i could enable MSAA=2x with the lowered PD.

JF-17 not available as AI in latest 2.5.652196
unknown replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in Fixed Bugs
Don't worry about it, this little pitfall was only introduced with the latest OB Patch. Easy to fall for it. -
Nineline said on the YT comments of the trailer that they HOPE for a late summer release.

What he said :joystick:

Maybe i'm misinterpreting your whole text but the marked part contradicts the manual. But i agree that i would not use this in combat situations.
-
Update: It looks like that the setting "Terrain Object Shadows = Default" was causing the stutter fest in the JF-17 for me. If i set that setting to Flat instead of Default the stuttering is reduced drastically, but the JF-17 is still the worst VR performer. But atleast it's back to playable in the air with that setting. I don't get why other modules don't suffer(stutterin) from this setting in VR :dunno:

Bump Any news regarding the JF-17 and the bad VR performance? With the latest OB patch 07-15-2020 it's worse than ever for me. It doesn't matter if i have all 3 mfd's off or showing TGP/Radar/Datalink at the same time, the VR experience in the JF-17 is horrible for me now. Constant FPS jumps from 40 (Rift S cap) down do 20's and back up (33 - 37- 23 - 33... on runway/ 40 - 37 - 40 - 33 - 40... in the air 10k and up) and every head movement is just a stutter fest down on the ground and up in the air. This is now my only module i ever got sick in since owning a VR headset, never ever had this happen before in any VR game/DCS module  I don't have these problems in VR with other modules i own, so i :dunno: what else i can do beside bringing this up to you attention again. Edit: This is only in VR, on monitor i don't have any performance problems. Yes i already deleted fxo/metashaders2, i do this after every patch.

Sale dates - what's the deal (or not...)?
unknown replied to mike pavitt's topic in Payment and Activation
Thanks, i know that possibility exists but i will not fly any flightsim without VR again. The feeling in VR is just so different/amazing instead of sitting infront of your monitor.
