Hi RagnarDa, i have no mods installed, clean DCS OB version(already tried repair), just putting the Viggen hot on the runway in the ME, nothing more is needed on my side. I thought the Radar must be running to trigger this crash because as i first reported this crash i could click many times my key bindings for the AP on my HOTAS(no double assignments) and it didn't crash but after a couple clicks with Radar running DCS stopped working. I tried it again today and it will also crash DCS without the Radar running, but it seems that you need more clicks to trigger it as back in march. Logs from today attached, i will also send you a PM with a private YT link showing everything from DCS menu to killing the DCS.exe. EDIT: Could narrow it down, activating/deactivating the AP ALTitude Hold mode 10 times(20 clicks - 10 ON and 10 OFF), on the 20th click DCS stopped responding. Another try showed that i could click over 20 times to activate/deactivate the AP ATTitude Hold mode without problem, after that my first click on the ALTitude Hold mode froze DCS. This time i used the mouse and the cockpit buttons to rule out HOTAS problems. dcs.log dcs_old.log

I tried it right now. Deleted fxo and metashaders2 folders. - restart and exit DCS -> new fxo and metashaders2 folders with files in fxo but empty metashaders2 folder - restart DCS and load a mission -> files in metashaders2 folder

Thanks for the info  Thanks that Deka has implemented the DPlayer, so i just have to crank up the volume :smilewink: OT But sadly the Jeff has become my worst performing Module in VR(2D no problems with fps) of all modules i own.... /OT

Bump This still happens to me in the latest OB. dcs.log

You are not alone: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=256850

It was in development by Belsimtek before they merged again with ED and the F4 got put on hold. Belsimtek1 Belsimtek2

Yeah, since a couple(?) patches it sounds like someone mixed a shower into the cockpit sounds.

DCS World image quality - 2017 vs. 2020, which is better?
unknown replied to GeneralDynamics's topic in DCS 2.9
I prefere the 2020 version tbh. You will not be able to get that 2017 look back because with one of the DCS 2.5(?) versions ED introduced deferred shading rendering to the engine and made it mandatory with the update to OB on 04-25-2018 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3463558&postcount=8 -
Yes and no. You can hide behind trees and brake radar lock(Shilka vs me in Chopper) but what can happen is that they keep looking in your direction and if a little part is showing they open fire again. I also observed that after braking LOS behind some tree lines and letting pass some seconds(can't remember how much) that the Shilka/Tanks/BMP returned their weapons to default position aka weren't looking in my direction anymore. But in general they are fast, popping up behind a tree line you will not have much time before they start shooting if you are in their weapons range.

Most of the time that you used/are using a mod that screwed up a config file resulting in missing textures(digi camo is rendered).

INSTANT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!! And woe if the pilot doesn't look like Alex! :D:D:D

You will probably have to wait a little for that. TrueGrit is doing a german Tiffy first and PIRATE is not used by the Luftwaffe, only on test/evaluation Tiffys. From the FAQ: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4260824&postcount=1

@MAD-MM The text only describes that it is used as part of the Army Test and Evaluation Centre and that it is returning from a "silmulated hostile thread to CSAR". But it doesn't tell anything about what it has equipped to its wing stations. Part of that role (threat simulation) is to show how "enemy" equipment looks like, we can see unguided rocket pod, guided anti tank missiles und what looks like an igla launcher(arrow 2). The "Laser Tec" stuff looks like the one at arrow 1 as far as i know. I'm not saying that this is a regular loadout or was ever used operationally or even worked(mockup) and i don't ask ED to implement it, i was just curious becasue i never saw that before on a Hind and it looked like an igla.

Thank you very much

Are you sure about that? I only remember the old "Discovery Documentary" about the US Hind with that "Laser tec" stuff and that looked quite different from the picture i posted. You can compare it with the YT video at 04:02, the picture doesn't look anything close to that "Laser tec" stuff. Also are you sure that 16 Shturm missiles are correct? I always thought there was only the possiblity of 4 AT-2 Swatter(Phalanga), or 4/8 AT-6 Spiral(Shturm) for the "classic" Hind and only for the modernized Mi-35 the option for 16 AT-9 Spiral-2(Ataka). For german speaking people, this looks like a great source(NVA-Flieger - NVA Airman): https://www.nva-flieger.de/index.php/technik/bew/palr-falanga.html

I don't have personal experience with that but in the video interview they say it's designed to withstand high G forces and enviromental influences for 3 to 4 years.

I hope for a Tiger Meet skin too  I also like the "Ghost Tiger": https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Eurofighter_Typhoon_%22Ghost_Tiger%22.jpg

You play the mission in VR, end the mission and click on "save track" in the result screen. End DCS and start it again without VR mode. Select Replay and record the playback of the track. This method has 2 disadvantages: 1 you have a shaky cam/view which is not present while gaming in VR 2 the track needs to replay correct, which isn't the case for longer missions every time You could work around problem 1 if you take control over the view while the track is replayed if this is suitable for you.

Mi-8 was developed for DCS 1.x, before there was any sling loading or cargo view cam. You don't see it so why render it - was probably the idea. We still would like to have better performance in DCS, this was just one way to optimise i guess(less geometry and textures to render). Would it hurt performance on todays PC's(DCS Engine is very old - LOMAC)? I don't know but on your screenshots you can only see a fraction of what is "missing". Video is from VR, so sorry for the shaky replay, in VR it's absolutely stable view but not in the track replay.

I don't know if it's "mindmelting" but a bomber - i'm looking at you canceled TU-22m MOD - would be a new thing for DCS and also fitting the new Syria map. But this guess is as good as every other one. :music_whistling:

It's not a bug it's a feature! :D I try to explain it, sorry for my english. If you start your mission DCS uses 2 models for your aircraft/module. One is the full glory 3d module you see in the F2...outside view (reduced details in cockpit) and one is your F1 cockpit view, this one has parts of the outside 3d model removed for performance optimisation. With the default F1 cockpit view you would normally never be able to see these things(the view mode you are talking about was added later to the module), so they removed them to increase the performance. If you have VR you will see much more things removed from the model if you leave your cockpit and work outside(F1 view and if you have enough space in your room to do so). This is also true for most/every(?) module in DCS, it's funny in VR if you look what they did remove or didn't care to align, VR wasn't a thing while the development of many of the modules, but performance optimisation was/is.

Thanks for clarification!

+1 What did i miss? :dunno:

I was looking for some nice Mi-24 pictures(wallpaper) and came across this attached picture, interesting loadout on the outer wingtip station, looks like some sort of igla? Was this ever used operationally or was it just carried as a test?
