can't work out how to select one of those items. Think you might have to use the bit value editor which looks a "bit" scary. Perhaps best to wait for FoxTwo's advice

.."export current profile including predefined settings" ?

The button for "Show unknown settings from NVIDIA Predefined profiles" is the second button from the right on the toolstrip top of the window. After you click that all of the unknown settings appear at the bottom of the DCS list. The 3 x 17 program items are right at the top of the unknowns

I've turned resizable BAR on in my MB BIOS, installed the latest NVIDIA driver, flashed my ASUS 3090 with their Resizable BAR flashing tool and I can see "Resizable BAR YES" in NVIDIA system information. I've never used Nvidia Profile Inspector before. I selected the "Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark" profile and clicked on "Show unknown settings from NVIDIA Predefined profiles" to bring up the "unknown" list. So is it just a case of selecting those 3 lines with the 17 profiled apps and hitting "apply changes" ?

In my admittedly limited time here I don't remember ever seeing DCS listed on ANY NVIDA game ready list. Does it ever happen ?

Interestingly, I also had a spare PCIE USB 3 card and I tried that first and it DIDN'T work. It was this one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07MZ3Q5KQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My ASUS PRIME X570 PRO MB supports resizable BAR and ASUS have literally posted their NVIDIA Resizable BAR flashing tool for my 3090 in the last hour. I may give it a go tomorrow if I get the time. Any other AMD owners tried it yet ?

My G2 couldn't be found by WMR using any USB 3 port on my 5900X motherboard. However, plugging an unpowered USB3 hub into any of those ports and the G2 into the hub works perfectly. It's an easy solution until HP and AMD sort it out.

I'm definately more conscious of the leather material on my face than the foam but it's still very wearable. Now that I have a second insert however, complete with its velcro fittings, I guess if I were inclined, it would be pretty easy to buy a sheet of decent foam fabric, back it with velcro sheet and cut a stack of replacements to fit the insert

..literally 30 minutes after I posted the above my VR Cover was delivered ! I guess they must have heard me Took less than a minute to set up and try. The good news is that the thinner pad works with my prescription lenses fitted in my G2. I had to loosen the strap a little to stop my eyelashes touching, but I'd had it pretty tight trying to maximise the FOV so no problem. Very comfortable and definately a slight increase in FOV and maybe even sweet spot. Very happy and will try over a few days.

..almost 2 weeks since VRCover (Europe) marked my order as shipped. I guess it's stuck in a container in Calais or Dover as we reep the benefits of Brexit

Much as I agree completely with what you're saying and have tested with correctly calculated relative resolutions on my rig and get absolutely no benefit at all, I think that if you watch his video carefully, in his defence, he states that he is aware that he is not comparing identical resolutions and what he is actually saying is that he believes that Steam Advanced Super sampling is better at generating a clearer (less jagged edged/less shimmering?) picture than DCS's, such that if you lower the workload in DCS and instead let Steam do the work you MAY get the same EXPERIENCE when the absolute comparative resolution is lower. Doesn't work for me on my rig but he's suggesting that folk with systems that are struggling can lower the resolution in this way to gain FPS without losing so much PERCEIVED visual quality. I'm not saying it works, only that that is what Lukas is suggesting. The problem is that this is not clear enough in the video and many people are taking it as a free FPS bump at the same resolution, which it clearly isn't.

..so before I rush to download (My HoloLensSensors.dll is currently still version 10.0.19041.2037), are the "Visuals quality improvements for the HP Reverb G2 headsets" actually noticable?

Newbie wanting to get into dcs vr without hotas, seeking advice
ShaunX replied to Penguinonice27's topic in Virtual Reality
I took the FC3 route to get into DCS and started with the F-15C, which was great and kept me very busy for few months. However, then ED did one of their regular "free to play all aircraft" periods and I tried the full fidelity F-16C and was completely blown away and bought it (actually, my wife bought it for my birthday) and honestly I haven't been back in a low fidelity jet since. So for me FC3 was a bit of a waste of money as I've scarcely been in it's other jets at all. Kinda wish I'd just bought the F-15C for 15 bucks. It's a great stepping stone up to any of the full fidelity fighters if that's where you want to go. -

Do you have enough light in the room and enough contrasting surfaces in front of you for the headset tracking to work with? You might also try changing computer usb 3 Port and making sure the usb cable is pushed all the way in at the headset connection.

nVidia driver hotfix for SteamVR released
ShaunX replied to speed-of-heat's topic in Virtual Reality
Ok, well that was a damp squib. I tested a number of hi AI activity scenarios with my original settings, and then with PD .5, SS 400%. Absolutely no difference in clarity (The G2 with my rig is super clear anyway) Zero performance improvement. If anything, slightly lower average FPS and CPU hitting red more often on the supercarrier I'll be sticking to PD 1.0, SS 100% -

I agree with you and I'm most skeptical about the trick. I will however give it a try this morning when I'm able with those settings. I think the claim in the video is that the Steam VR advanced super sampling is somehow more advanced/efficient that DCS's rendering, such that, if you maintain the same absolute resolution and let Steam VR do the work instead of DCS, you'll get a better experience. I'll report back later -

"which is pretty much exactly double to the 100% figures above ( err, shouldn't it be 4 times ? I'm confused now.) " - is it because it's a per-eye dimension and therefore actually 4 times over both eyes ? -
nVidia driver hotfix for SteamVR released
ShaunX replied to speed-of-heat's topic in Virtual Reality
I'm going to try the PD 0.5 trick this morning, though I'm pretty skeptical I currently have DCS PD at 1.0. In steam VR, I run Global SS at 100%, DCS specific SS at 100% which SteamVR calculates for my rig to be 3164 x 3096 (catering for barrel distortion) So, if PD is a linear dimension and as a multiplier I should use it as 0.5 * 0.5 * SteamVR SS, then increasing SteamVR DCS SS to 400% should give a similar resulting resolution ? (Am I right up to now ?) If I increase SteamVR DCS SS to 400% it calculates that to be 6332 * 6196 for my rig, which is pretty much exactly double to the 100% figures above ( err, shouldn't it be 4 times ? I'm confused now.) Anyway, with my original settings, if I jump in the Hornet on a hot start on a very busy supercarrier deck (which always stresses my rig so that I'm barely maintaining 45 FPS) , monitor the FPSVR figures, then quit the mission and save the track. Then replay the the track with the new settings and monitor FPSVR again, does that sound like a reasonable comparison ?
