  1. It has an upgraded transponder but no interrogator
  2. Just wanted to bump this post again, I think now would be a great time to outline the future plans for the level of detail planned for the Cyrano IVM and a brief overview of its expected capabilities and limitations, particularly its use at low altitude and in look down
  3. Any chance we can get a sneak peek at the patch notes. It's been a long time since December
  4. An NVG compatible cockpit was one of the upgrades of the F1M so it should have NVGs in DCS. The main differences of the F1M: - Full digital HUD with CCIP/CCRP symbology - GPS and updated INS - radar altimeter - new digital UFC and a color MFD that replaces the stores management system and radar display - the ALR-300 RWR like the one available in the EE - lots of other stuff that isn't really relevant in DCS like new radio encryption stuff, upgraded IFF transponders, etc
  5. @BIGNEWY, sorry for the ping. Is there any information you can get / share from the team regarding this interface for laser codes? It is very limiting for the F1 in any dynamic or multiplayer scenarios to be unable to change laser codes
  6. Curve does help. You need a pretty serious one. I use 35. Also, disable the high gain steering before starting your takeoff roll and you can also disable NWS entirely once you get a little speed
  7. The F1 has had a wing bending effect modelled for a while now. I think recently it was tuned a bit or maybe it's just easier to do with the recent FM tweaks. It isn't represented visually at the moment but you can definitely bend the wings with over G
  8. Hello, I recently saw this post https://www.reddit.com/gallery/18f8njf with an update on the CAP from Deka. Like many others, I was very interested in the WIP Hunting Eagle asset and was sad to see it's "on hold". I understand that the J-8 is probably all hands on at the moment, but I just wanted to say that this asset would actually be an incredible addition to DCS and would open up a ton of awesome gameplay possibilities. I really hope Deka is able to continue work on this asset soon and bring it to DCS World.
  9. Ah! This explains a lot. I am very guilty of just relying on the F1ED manual for info haha. Perhaps if we had a write up of the Cyrano IVM it might help with some of the confusion https://forum.dcs.world/topic/337807-radar-white-paper-roadmap/
  10. No, there is a second safety only for the gun. I forget the exact name of the bind but it'll show up if you search "gun" I think
  11. Hey @SUNTSAG, is there any way to use this command in a script? I can get a ship to go to a waypoint in the ME but none of the commands available in the API seem to work with boats. https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/DCS_task_goToWaypoint
  12. I was thinking it would be very nice if someone from Aerges could give us a rundown or roadmap of the planned features and functionality of the Cyrano IVM simulation. The Cyrano IVM is a radar that does not have a lot of publicly available information, and the simulation in DCS as it is now is obviously WIP. I understand that the effort will be a long one, and I think most DCS players are accustomed to waiting for stuff like this. However in the meantime I think it would be nice if we knew what the plans were in terms of detail and capabilities of the radar. Some information that would be helpful: According to pilot experience / available documentation how effective was DATEP compared to the previous MTI in earlier Cyrano IVs? Are there any more details about how DATEP functions? Does the MTI have significant blind speeds in lookdown, and how does the radar determine when to use it? In older Cyranos the MTI function was tied to the altitude modes that aren't present in the IVM. Also just a general impression of the radar from what Aerges knows about it and what you are planning to implement would be really cool so we know what to expect while waiting. Thanks! Love the F1 and all the tons of hard work Aerges has put into it! My favorite jet in DCS (and one of them IRL)
  13. Any word on getting these weapons implemented with ED? We need some more Spanish bombs on our F1!
  14. When you say cut the throttle you mean all the way into the fuel cutoff to shut down the engine? Then advance it back to idle?
  15. So that you could have an online scenario with a Hornet without JHMCS, GPS, and advanced datalink
  16. How do you enforce this in a multiplayer server?
  17. Basically with LGBs in jets like the F1 or F-5 you have to fly a rough profile like you would with unguided bombs. Obviously you get a lot more leeway with LGBs. My advice is to setup a mission with infinite ammo and a pair of Mk83s. Fly up to whatever alt you'd like to drop from. Probably fairly high since you'll have LGBs. Dive around 15 degrees and when you're at the release alt you want hit active pause. Once you're frozen, drop the bombs. When you see an explosion, move the pipper down onto the fireball and write that down.
  18. No, the M has CCIP and CCRP. I don't know exactly what modes they are and how they work but it does have them.
  19. The long and short of it is, the Mirage F1 has the most realistic implementation of the Aim-9B, J and P seeker heads in DCS. It models a lot of things especially in the 9B that make it particularly hard to use including the inability to uncage it, the seeker null center, and the very limited FOV. Combined with the high aim point (the wingtip missiles center of fov is the very top of the HUD glass) this makes missile employment in the F1 much more challenging than almost any other module. But it is realistic and pretty damn cool from Aerges
  20. Yeah same. AD doesn't get the MCLOS AS-30
  21. AFAIK this pylon was only ever available / used on the A models. It has a completely different armament system to be able to use the quad racks on the wings. PS Aerges, I have some F1AD manuals if you want to make one for us null
  22. I have no idea how terrible of an idea this would be IRL, but I do the same thing. I don't know if it's just me being new to pedals, or my curve setup, or just me. But the F1 NWS is very dangerous for me on take-off. I can make-do with low gain but have a much easier time taking off with NWS fully disabled. I don't have this issue in any other plane. Even the Mosquito lol
  23. I think we've already learned from the Sea Eagle that putting weapons on a jet with no ability to use them adds very little to the gameplay. And it detracts from the simulation to have so many parts of the jet painstakingly recreated only to just make up some capabilities because it would be "cool"
  24. No, I don't believe we're getting that mode. It's listed as INOP in the Aerges F1 manual. The functions of the radar have a lot to do with what the customer ordered obviously and it doesn't look like the Spanish F1s had it. Not sure about any others or if any other F1s even used the IVM. It is very difficult to find any information about the IVM null
  25. +1 for this. It's a very needed feature, also countermeasures and radio presets would be very appreciated in the kneeboard
