  1. Out of curiosity, why doesn’t the “no springs” mode work with a dead stick controller? Isn’t that the intended mode to be used in your situation where your stick now has no centering springs?
  2. A lot of CPGs will use an Xbox controller for working the TADS in the front seat. The analog sticks are much easier to use than an 8-way hat would be, I would imagine; I have never tried. Using an analog stick for the TSD cursor is also helpful.
  3. LMC works well with practice. No, it is not a single button press to ground stabilize the TADS. Learn how it works and you will get comfortable with it over time. Use it on conjunction with IAT. That being said, the Apache is not necessarily the best module for everyone.
  4. Another video with better results tonight. The first missile on the SA-8 was SAL to make sure it was no longer a threat, then I switched over to RF for the rest of the shots. There were several differences from the last video, so lots of variables were changed at once, unfortunately. This is a smaller mission (300 units?) than before This is running on a dedicated server on my LAN, and I am the only player connected This is with a Hot Start, INU alignment was single-digits when I lifted off I used LMC and IAT when lasing targets My next test will be the same mission with a cold start, and taking off before INU is fully aligned. (Yes, I realize I was quite lucky casually evading that Sniper missile from the tank after taking out the SA-8. )
  5. We have been discussing this over here as well. In my video I was flying solo in a MP server, switching seats.
  6. FYI, this post is what I was referring to:
  7. I used IAT for a few of those in the video, then I think I used LMC for the last one, but I don’t think I was ever using both at the same time. I’ll give it a try and see what happens.
  8. I think if we were all designing the Apache again today, we would make this function easier to achieve, but alas, this is how it is.
  9. What if your pilot in the back is incapacitated, and now you need to fly the aircraft from the front? You can borrow his PNVS and select your sight while keeping your hands on the collective and stick. (This is just a guess; I am not an expert in these things.)
  10. I also noticed that the serial number on each missile is the same. Come on ED, step it up!
  11. ED has indicated they are looking into it.
  12. I posted a video in this other thread to continue this conversation, as this thread is really about the curvy flight of the missiles, which is correct as-is. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/326008-lima-hellfiresa-little-too-maddog/#comment-5222015
  13. Here is a video of some AGM-114L action I just captured in a MP server (Tempest Blue Flash). It is a mix of me firing from the CPG seat at a hover, and also George firing while I'm in the back. Some missiles hit other targets, other missiles hit the ground. One missile was able to hit the designated target, which was actually fired by George, while I was moving. Go figure. I don't have a track as I got disconnected from the server shortly after I stopped recording. I think I am doing everything right, but still not getting the results I do when flying a SP mission at the Target Range.
  14. That isn't exactly what he is doing. If you align a target and he gets the TARGET DATA, but you never launch the missile, and instead pull off the target (to evade an incoming missile for example) he will constantly say "laser on" and "laser off" every few seconds, even while cold on the target.
  15. In this test at the Caucasus Live Fire Range, I launch 4 114L missiles at 4 parked vehicles and they all hit. Then I fire at 4 parked aircraft, and they all miss in the same way each time. For the last missile I even use IAT for a stable track for TARGET DATA. Track file included. 114L misses parked aircraft.trk
  16. I'm finding mixed results, and I haven't quite figured out why yet. In SP, flying the Caucasus Target Range mission I can hit most targets from the CPG seat. George can hit most targets if he settles down and lases properly before I tell him to fire. (I did notice that when targeting the aircraft on the runway at the range that the missile will often hit short of the parked aircraft from my point of view.) However, I hop into Tempest Blue Flash (cold start) and head out to enemy territory, then swap to the front seat and engage an enemy group from hover, every missile I fire either hits a different target to the right of the intended target, or hits the ground to the right of the intended target. It's possible that the missiles were all coming off the rail and going left in that scenario.) Maybe it is a server latency issue and a larger mission is causing some problems? The server wasn't very busy with players at the time, but there are a lot of units in the mission. I see that video is from the Target Range. Have you flown on a large MP server?
  17. The LST needs to be set to OFF Add or remove the aux fuel tank on the rearm/refuel screen
  18. We have seen a few cases of trim just straight-up not working. In the two cases I can recall, the solution was to reinstall DCS. For example:
  19. When I do a cold start, I typically lift off when the map data pops up in the TSD, though I don't think the INU is fully aligned at this point. This hasn't resulted in any noticeable weirdness, until maybe now? I just sat in the CPG seat (at a hover) to fire 114L on a group of 6 artillery units, and every one of my missiles went to a different target than the one I had designated, always to the right.
  20. Check that NOE/A Mode is not enabled on the main UTIL page. When enabled, at speeds below 80 the stabilator is used to pitch the nose of the aircraft down to provide better visibility while flying NOE. (This sometimes gets enabled through some desync issue between the pages of the MFD.)
  21. After doing some testing just now, it looks like once you have the TARGET DATA? locked in, you can mask and launch. We tried it only once, and the missile found its target, so unless this was a fluke, it seems to work.
  22. Is there a way to predict which way it is going to come off the rail? Maybe left wing flies out left and right wing flies out right or something? They don't loft very high, so launching from behind cover requires some extra planning.
  23. It doesn't matter what seat you are in.
  24. Keep an eye on his laser tagging and if it doesn't look like he had a good track on the target, wait til he is stable on the target, cycle to No Weapon, then back to Missiles. This will force him to lase again and get a good track for the Lima HF.
  25. On the TEDAC Right-Hand Grip
