Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
Dr_Pavelheer replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
As I said, there is only so much you can do by modding FC3, you need access to API for stuff like multicrew or sensors. Even A4 mod authors had to create some workarounds and that's a 50's jet, still some features like Bullpup, Walleye or one bomb delivery mode had to be omitted due to limitations stemming from lack of access. Keep in mind proper devs can put many more man-hours into a project by sheer virtue of getting paid, it's simply unrealistic for modders who do it as a hobby after hours. It's worth mentioning the issue of multiplayer. There is a very good reason why most servers tend to not use mods, and if they do it's the well established ones like C130, UH-60 or A4, even then it's a pain in the lower back because people have to manually download and update them, there is a risk of abuse etc. -
Su-30MKK Full fid or FC3 version?
Dr_Pavelheer replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in Deka Ironwork Simulations
@pepin1234 DCS makes no sense because there is Ace Combat There are limits to what can be done by reskinning Su-27/Su-25T, not to mention resources and know-how that are needed to make something somewhat realistic. By the way currently FC3 based mods seem to break the game if loaded causing units not to load and even CTDs in MP -
Try removing mods

@DrWalnuss SFW are currently bugged
-
@TheGhostOfDefi You're connected to ground station, not AWACS, and it transmits data only about your target instead of providing general SA
-
@TheGhostOfDefi It's a system similar to TAF in M2000, aircraft gets updates about targets position, calculated course to intercept, cues radar, apparently can even work with autopilot. We're getting it for Mig-23
-
@garrya According to Starbaby (ex F4G EWO and F15E WSO) in the F4G system could also estimate emitter elevation and could even be used for enhancing SA in air to air combat

You forgot to disable the zeroizer, if I remember correctly switch is somewhere on the left side
-
Nature of the beast, for me improved image stability is worth the side effects which in my case are mostly noticeable on MFDs, tracers and navigation lights on other aircraft but for some any form of TAA is too distracting

[FIXED] GB-6 is still none functional (trk attached)
Dr_Pavelheer replied to My_Name_Jeff's topic in Bugs and Problems
If I were to guess next patch -
@dock999 I'm pretty sure it's about Mach, not airspeed. As you approach speed of sound the way air flows around the aircraft changes, which means things like bombs, missiles, tanks might not necessarily separate safely from the aircraft above certain speeds. Take a look at photos of external fuel tanks carried by Su-24, they have little wings in the front to make sure they don't hit the aircraft when jettisoned Also airspeed in the JF-17 is measured in knots, not km/h, to be more precise by default it shows KCAS, Calibrated Airspeed in knots

I remember encountering similar issue couple of weeks ago, it's some kind of bug that I've not been able to recreate. If you encounter it again in a pinch you can always turn the MSL knob all the way down, though obviously it's not a perfect solution as it will turn off for instance RWR/MAWS sounds as well

Two irregular factions-insurgents and Militia
Dr_Pavelheer replied to upyr1's topic in DCS Core Wish List
In ARMA you have blues, reds, insurgents and civilians, something similar would be nice -
Several former operators of Su-22M4 are in NATO now, I don't think access to data would be an issue at least as far as Kh-25MP goes. Kh-58 is a different matter, though I've yet to see any indications that its employment is vastly different from switchology point of view but I might be mistaken.

In my experience Limas track slow flying targets like helicopters better than Kilos. Of course kinematic performance is limited and missile lacks proximity fuse, but if you catch enemy with their pants down and don't try to shoot helicopters beaming you at 250 kph you have a decent chance of hitting the target

Mavericks' crosshair indications ("shaky" vs "closed")
Dr_Pavelheer replied to wkth's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
That little crosshair is where the seeker head is pointing in relation to missiles boresight, there are limits to how hard can missile turn and still hit the target. In my experience the difference between lock symbology is matter of what did you lock, usually if you get a lock on a vehicle they will be closed all the way, while if you lock something big like an object or ship it doesn't close all the way -
Apache can mix Limas and Kilos on one pylon, though there might be something different about how Apache is programmed in DCS to handle stores which allows that

[FIXED] MSL Volume Gives Non-stop Audible Warnings
Dr_Pavelheer replied to Gunz's topic in Fixed Bugs
I've had similar issue recently, Betty got stuck repeating "altitude, altitude", had to turn the MSL volume completely off. No track file unfortunately, it happened after over one hour of playtime so even if I had one it would be useless anyway. It hasn't happened since though and I have no idea how to reproduce the issue -
Variant of the same gunsight was also used in Su-17/22, which in later versions was able to carry some of the weapons Su-25T does including TV-guided and anti-radiation missiles. And, as a bonus, it hasn't been in Russian service in many years which means significantly reduced risk of defenestration

How far out are you? Targeting pod in JF-17 has limit of ~20 nm, outside of that range you can't get area or point track
-
Unless ED implements it on their side Deka doesn't really have anything to work with. Currently clouds in DCS aren't "real", but if they want to implement things like clouds affecting AI LOS, IRST or heat seeking missiles they will have to tackle it sooner or later

@AG-51_Razor If were to guess similarly to F16 in VIS mode or Viggen
