  1. fighter variant as extra paid version of base module could be worth it, while you may say that US plane would sell better, there is additional factor that learning Viggen to have 2 diffrent planes could persuade players who dont have Viggen to buy one and learn it, it's rather common opinion that Viggen is very diffrent from other planes we have in game, and Viggen knowladge not really carry us easily into other planes, this can be a turn of for people with less playing time.
  2. If someone is finding F-18 boring, then they have to join pvp servers with pl-12 armed J-11's or have to face Flankers, Fulcrums and Mirages in gulf war setup in stripped to A variant Hornet, change of perspective from hunter to prey should be interesting itself
  3. I m preety sure Armat missiles would be great addition, currently redfor lacks SEAD capability, Mirage would be much more flexible with them, and fast antiradiation platforms for late cold war-90's scenariso are rather limited currently
  4. yeah, same experiance here, 1 well placed 23mm shell and i m often out, MG's and small arms can do little if not kill crew, but any cannon caliber is lethal. Is this video from mp or it's AI, AI is known for having simplified damage model, can also be some weapon underperforming or clear bug

  7. it's all not that importaant, becouse HOJ mode is real killer, passive anti radation weapons are UFO technology in DCS, both SARH passive mode and Harms like weapons, only Shrikes on Skyhawks work more or less how they should IRL (~25% effectivness)

IRST have very narrow aplication in DCS, but it's also opinion of real pilots who were flying Migs, In DCS it's basically nice tool to attack from the deck outside EWR and awacs coverage, so you dont send warning to attacked plane, and it's mostly MP thing, for SP it's has some use in night fight, but if you remove IRST from Mig, you dont lose much capability.

I dont even think about taking Mig-29 against Amraam capable anything, I just hope that on top of FF Mig we see changes to IR moddeling, diffrent temperature effects hopefully clouds affecting things, and Mig radar will be in realistic charts with it's all abilities and disabilities, but Mig will not be flying in vacumm, need adversary planes with real capabilities from era old Fulcrum has it's prime, DCS shifting towards cold war is a good thing overall
  10. Any plans to add stripped variants of those 2? Battlefield would be kinda leveled in cold war scenarios, currently even without data link and helmet cueing, both still have radar that is much better than other planes from 80-90's, would be nice to have package reducing both to early versions, especially with Mig 23 and Mig 29 coming

Hopefully with FF Mig 29 we also get old APG 66 radar to simulate early A Viper in cold war setting, so playing field will be equal, while features like restricting helmet, DL and weapons are nice, it's still gives Viper pilots radar and ECM adventage they shouldnt have in any cold war setting, and similar treatment for Hornet. Just as editor option we have for other systems

Current FC 3 Fulcrum have adventage in 80-90's scenario over Hornet in kinetic performance and F-16 due having BVR capability that Viper dont have, F-15C is less popular LF module and Tomcat is real adversary, Fulcrum will be dengerous always, and in good hands very dengerous, biggest limitation will be fuel, not avionics, even if ED make radar modelling right, like difficulties of picking cold targets, or radar not being able to see 2 target when 2 planes fly close to each other, it still will be top of food chain, but again, afterburner time is very limited and extra skill Mig pilot will have to learn is gliding back to base It's significantly less fuel than similar sized US jets, but also less fuel than Viggen or Mirage. My biggest concern is pricing of Mig and fact FC3 is in top 3 most popular modules, it will be hard sell for a lot of people who already own FC3 without some promo for FC3 owners, but it's another topic...
  13. old mod can start crashing game with new DCS update, I had French pack mod working, but with newest update now, it no longer pass IC. I was running some trials recently, also stable older modules, started to crash game, had graphics glitches, no problems after clearing tech mods folder. Mods are great overall for SP, but have price

Possibly too many mods installed, I had issues with radio on Gazelle before, and i found some mods guilty, UH 60, Virpil equimment, navy equpment, French pack, and iirc A-29, all those were crashing game when entered infantry encyclopedia. So highly likely they were creating issues with other stuff as well

  16. altidue thing maybe? I remember 2000ft FARP Caucasus take of to be challanging, was impossible to take Gazelle to level flight
  17. In Gazelle, 68mm rockets are way too weak, need literally hundreads to sink frigate, also single HEAT warhead is doing 25% damage vs BMP 1

I had missiles on my mind and MP settings, navigation definitely allow practical use Mig 29 for bombing, radio is handled by SRS anyway, startup? in FF modules it's actually 1 button Another thing to consider, I see in cold war servers that alllow Flankers as well, Mig 29 is way less popular and have way worse A2A KDR than Flanker, like in RL, something to keep in mind...
  19. Even if A used ET/ER in Russian service, still it should be definitely removed from G variant, neither Germany nor Poland had access to ER/ET, ED had this thing right,as default loadout is 2xR-27, 2xR-73 and 2xR-60M

Mig 29 is best FC 3 module, FF Mig 29 need a lot to be hi in priority for FC3 owners, both systems modeling and capabilities, things that are not modelled in F3 are not that needed anyway in interceptor role, like nav system, except maybe point attack role that is barely used anyway. Instant IFF have no practical meaning with Mig 29 engagment ranges. First thing first, ED should fix FC3 Mig 29A and G loadout, ER and ET's should be removed, it would be weird if new Mig come less capable than old one.
  21. While announced is 9.12 variant I will be very supprised if FF Mig 29 come with less capabilitiy than FC3 one, so I expect S variant of some sort included, also modders can come to help. Maybe we even get variant of some westernized export models with some NATO weapons, or even SFM, but not on release date of course. I agree with earlier opinions that realistic modern NATO vs Russia/China scenarios are impossible to be played realistically and balanced, and it's not DCS future for some time, but best in DCS is cold war period anyway, most kills are close and personal even in early 90's, and 80-90's provide best balance for majority of modules, even if vipers and hornets have to be stripped in them, Mig 29 is good fit in this company

We have F-15C with Amraams C that get it after First Gulf War, but without other improvements in cockpit, like GPS, what is supposed to be APG 63V (1) from 90's performs terrible, but this radar get later improved as well to use amraams for full poential, we have modern amraams, but with 90's radar that is performing like 70's era radar, thare is few years old thread about underperforming radar that is still not fixed. In modern it's that big issue as Amraam lethal range in TWS agaisnt even small fighters not reduce effective range, but in cold war Sparrow scenarios that are nearly non existant in SP F-15C experiance, Sparrows under jamming are terrible underperforminng due bad radar modeling. Thats about weapons, another issue is not working autopilot level mode. Now for the flight model, occasional blackouts during landings feel weird, gear is made of glass compered to other aircraft, I also experianced glitches where landing on grass didnt made frame damage, but landing on runway resulted at least in blowing a tire. I lost wings recently on mp server, in what according to tacview was 1.3G manouver, classic WTF moment. Thare is also damage model that seems bugged, I had burning engines and voise telling me both engines are on fire, visually 1 engine was on fire, but BOTH engines were worknig like new, just landed plane like nothing happened, at least AB was damaged too, so nice to see this. I can make some cold war missions to reproduce how bad STT radar mode is performing in ECM enviroment, hopefully ED either bring F-15C of some version to FF module or fix current issues with F-15C. Of course i dotn have tracks for all those issues I mentioned, hopefully someone will assist in this, and i promise to bring evidence of all those issues if they happen again, but i say again, F-15C is worst FC3 module in terms of FM and avionics modelling. FM itself is ok i think, both performance and behavior, issues are various mentioned glitches
