  1. Outstanding job there mate! Regarding the leobodnar controller that you have, after seeing it in this thread out of curiosity I check their website and noticed that they also have a similar controller that is not in matrix. What factors went into your decision to pick this and not that controller? Cheers
  2. Page 1 of this thread, post #10 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4455306&postcount=10
  3. Mr. Wags already said in several occasions that DCS Apache is not an if, but a when.
  4. None of the above. It's a problem inherent to how a game is rendered in a monitor in the form of pixels. In real life, your eyes have a far better acuity and the image is not pixelated. The problem here is that DCS, as opposed to other simulators like the one we're supposed not to name which starts with B and ends with S, there is no implementation, other than dots, to attenuate for the problem above.
  5. Anyway, I asked kindly and addressed to Mr. Wags and was received by the same old toxic fanboys with insults and accused of misinformation. Thank you for your passion.
  6. Marketing happened. Below it there's nothing similar, above, it can definitely be a lot more expensive. Why charge $600 if they can charge $1000?
  7. You can create your own simple dogfight trainings via mission editor: Set USA to Blue and Russsia + USAF Agressors to Red. Place your F-16 at 400kt and 20k ft, then head-on at 35nm away, place a red aggressor F-16; make sure both are set to CAP. Setup the armament for both units and the level of skill for the AI opponent. Run the mission and have fun. Shift-R restarts the mission. When you're tired of fighting against a F-16, head back to the mission editor and try another opponent: SU-27, Mig-29, F-15C...
  8. I'm not even referring to the empty area outside of the map square (kuwait, oman, yemen...). I specifically referring to the space inside of it which is virtually wip as seen on the picture below: And it was mentioned by Mr. Wags that they wound try to expand it. No news ever since, that's why I'm asking Mr.Wags and not ED's fanboys.
  9. Yeah, eventually with proper native hand tracking support, all that expensive hardware could be replaced by leftover cardboard.
  10. Hello Mr. Wags, I would like to kindly ask if the paid DLC Persian Gulf map will ever be completed. For its price, the actual developed area is too small, specially compared to the empty WIP space. Thank you so much.
  11. Given 2020 worst year and ED's historical commitment to the F-16, it's very unlikely. They already have a plateful of excuses to delay it even more.
  12. Exactly!
  13. If you run into any problems with it, search the forums cause I remember one of the ed censors mentioned some useful win10 settings to go along with dcs and win update 2004.
  14. More cheats for the AI is like a walking stick. It's not the solution. The AI needs to be improved. One can only fix so many issues by giving cheats to AI before it starts introducing new ones (2.5.6) There is only one medicine for this and it's bitter and takes time; time that was neglected during these past 15 years.
  15. Maybe in another 10 years or so.
  16. Was it Windows 10.2004?
  17. I was testing some time ago something similar to this. The solution I found was to activate the radar unit's AI via trigger when part of coalition aircraft in zone, and deactivate radar unit's AI when all coalition out of zone. I was actually testing this in order to optimise performance by only having only the absolute necessary amount of AI for the mission in question. What happened was that the SEAD units would only engage active AI AD units or so was my perception.
  18. It seems ED is actively working on the flight dynamics and the flight model... It may be actively working on it, although it had passively not made any improvements for the past 6 months.
  19. Yeah, but of course it is, it's a product from the 80s! Do you remember 80s computers and 360kb floppy disks? I think the whole point of the discussion was that, me included, are still surprised that LANTIRN is not in the plans, regardless of being obsolete or not.
  20. Who said its perfect? And btw, what's your point in this whole discussion?
  21. I agree, it's currently very sluggish.
  22. Tell that to the Republican Guards who got their asses kicked from 3.5km away during heavy rain, shamal and dense fog on the Medina Ridge. :megalol:
  23. NVG = Image Intensifier, means it depends on a light source to intensify. Back in the late 90s we only had early gen NVGs. On a very dark night or without moon, you just can't see anything. It's useless against weather and it provides very bad depth perception. FLIR = Forward Looking Infrared. It's independent from the visible spectrum. It's a passive sensor that detects heat difference in the enviroment. LANTIRN = Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night The FLIR on LANTIRN is only part of a system designed to provide a relatively safe very low altitude navigation system for day/night/weather with targeting capability. https://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/lantirn.htm If you were a F-16 pilot, without LANTIRN you would probably be restricted from any low altitude flying (<500ft) in a contested battlefield, as was the case during Desert Storm.
