  1. It is good to know that your men do what they are supposed to when they are supposed to do it. My most sincere apologies to the chiefs and the crews for thinking otherwise.
  2. Either one would be cool, for a very short time. The B-52 had a crew of five while the B-2 might be more manageable, in sim terms, since it only required a crew of two. Neither aircraft would lend itself to being piloted by a single player with AI handling the rest.
  3. Repping you in my mind, since I can't do it here anymore. :)
  4. What? You don't have a spare drive and video card? Aside from the router which is provided by my ISP since it runs more than just my internet, I have backup hardware for everything else, including an unused 6700k CPU/mobo/memory package, spare Warthogs, TIR and a backup set of pedals. ;)
  5. Glad you explained that but it is perfect.
  6. Exactly. Since none of us has any investment in the product we can enjoy the occasional update without getting overly stressed out about the details or timeline. I would rather be surprised than spend time over anticipating the final results of HB's efforts, which will be well worth the wait, I am sure.
  7. I am sure that the F-14 is going to be awesome but Cobra, historically, is a terrible prognosticator. I would double any time frame estimate that comes from him.
  8. Yup. It makes you wonder how you ever flew without it.
  9. Just don't plan on removing it. There are many threaded pipe style extensions out there and every single one of them is liable to get stuck which will cause you to damage your base in the process of removing them.
  10. Too bad I am in the U.S. I would grab those pedals in a heartbeat.
  11. I see, or don't. When you are almost sixty you prefer the real thing.
  12. Really? Doing what?
  13. 1. ED sells through Steam so that is all that matters. Steam customers don't care who or what ED is. 2. My router only dies once, then it gets replaced. 3. I bowed back in, which is my privilege. I understand ED's need to protect their IP. However, there is a line between serving the company and serving the customer. I think ED is operating on the wrong side of that line.
  14. Windows already gives you that option.
  15. That is a fine plan unless your router dies. Even with Amazon Prime it could take three days to procure a new one. How does this impact Steam clients?
  16. Very much true. I bet on Oculus twice. I backed the kickstarter (which garnered me a DK1 and a CV1 for the low total of $365, IIRC) and I bought stock in FB right after they bought Oculus (the stock price is now triple what I paid). All in all, it was a very wise, and profitable, choice.
  17. Though I am sure that you are correct, I also suspect that corners are often cut by some ground crews.
  18. True, but it is a situation where they compare the most good for the consumer vs. an acceptable level of loss for the company.
  19. Really? I have played with many BIOS settings and never had a Windows activation issue.
  20. Remove the lightbulb from the fridge. Problem solved. ;) Seriously though. External light sources will really mess with TIR but aside from that it is an amazing device, especially if you have never used any type of head tracking. Oh yes, Gerry's setup vid is probably the best one out there.
  21. Very cool. Did not know about them. Too bad they only operate in the Cali/west coast area.
  22. Explain why, please.
  23. Those are all issues with DCS, not with VR as a whole.
  24. Actually, overclocking has little to do with it. Both chips have nearly identical single core performance. The advantages of the i7 has much more to do with the availability of more threads which, while of little value to DCS, has advantages since DCS is not the only thing the PC is doing at any given time.
