  1. Hopefully, some used equipment from NSA, and/or NRO, will come onto the market. ;)
  2. He brought a lot of enjoyment to my youth. R.I.P.
  3. Absolutely, a cpu change will cost an activation if you do not deactivate.
  4. If I had to pick one, I would choose the A-10. It is slow and certainly not a fighter but if you are more interested in learning to fly (Pink Floyd reference keeps floating through my head) then it is a good choice.
  5., true, almost anything is possible. EDIT: As long as my billiard skills hold up, I will be happy.
  6. Sounds great but let's see if we can get any kind of dynamic campaign first. I suspect I will be too old to sim by the time it happens.
  7. I don't recall anything after the first time I saw Dax. :)
  8. Since I have three of them. I always keep a Warthog in my 'Go Bag' just in case I suddenly have to travel to Mexico or Mars.
  9. Since we don't even have realistic aerial combat, yet. Let see them finish that first.
  10. Not a bad price. I could do it cheaper with my laser printer (toner goes a very long way) and FedEx/Kinkos would bind (spiral bound) it for less than $15.

I would love to understand why people post threads that will be deleted.
  12. That chip was very unique. It could overclock like crazy and work for years. Mine ran at 450Mhz for three years before it started to fail. Life is a lot different now. Tolerances are tighter and performance outside of certain ranges is far less likely.
  13. What does the QVL for your MOBO say?
  14. It is a sad truth, that sometimes you get what you pay for. For a high end build, spend the money. What you save in hassles and headaches will be worth it in the long run.
  15. Btw, the dimensions of the screen do not matter. 4k at 28" is the same as 4k at 60" when in comes to performance.
  16. Yep. It is a really amazing device, especially when you consider it's size. Been playing with various flavors of Linux for twenty years.
  17. I haven't kept files that I want on my C drive in nearly twenty years.
  18. That would still require an agreement from ED to allow it.
  19. This is the silliest discussion I have ever seen on this forum. 1 - Since there is no way to protect them, the whole idea is pointless. 2 - Since ED owns the rights to the model, skinning it for profit is probably not legal. 3 - In the MP environment, custom skins would not even be visible unless every client owned them.
  20. For a PC, in general, an SSD is a worthwhile investment. The only HDDs left in my house are used as data drives, in the PCs, or as backup/multimedia drives (RAID 1 configs) in NAS boxes.
  21. The bottom line is that TM has, historically, found a much better market in the racing sim world.
  22. While 32 GB might, and I mean might, show a slight improvement, it is highly unlikely to be worth the investment. Save your money for a new laptop, or better yet, build a desktop machine.
  23. I would try a repair first. The biggest issue is that the registry no longer contains the requisite entries.
  24. It doesn't. :P
