What new feature of the Hornet are you most looking forward to?

I voted HARM, since many of the other stuff can be find on different aircrafts or are partialy there on the Hornet but still WIP, but having something to finaly do human SEAD in game would be nice instead of seing people trying to SEAD with the Harrier's self-defence Sidearm :) On other words, something new. -
ED would have this problem fix so easily by simpling giving us options in the mission editor to simply state if we want lights on or off on the carrier on the waypoints advance options, or simply add an arguements we can add as Radio Menu while flying and contacting F-10 Other radio menu or simply contact Tower to request lights on until et ask them off, so many possibilities but we gotta live with it as crapopy as it is now, specialy in VR, either when weather is fine or not.

You do not ned to line up correctly perfectly, but the most you are the least chance you get from your bird to be hooked to the shuttle while ending a bit angled. Best trick is, give yourself some space to align to, i mean if hard to do, jsut align yourself further than where the blast doors open/raise with NWS HI (NWS HI can be achieve with wings extendid by keeping the button pressed, can'T remember default key binding) or with wings folded you press it once and it'll stay on NWS HI until you repressed it). You do not need to be perfely over the shuttle also, you got a few feets off, front or back of the shuttle that it'll auto-connect, i rather stop before going passed the shuttle when i connect. Also if you want, onced align, move close to the shuttle with F2 view, once there, jump in cockpit view and give yourself some reference point, left or right as you want, as next time you'll know where to stop as this references is where it needs, do it for both CATS (or 4 if you use the ones back of the ship)

Taxi on the deck with hook down catches wire .. ?

Seems pretty much touching all the way down from that perspective, though is the hook in a proper angle to get cought by the wrire as taxing as MurderOne said, dunno., but in any cases i wouldn't anyways taxi with my hook down, when i move it simply goes up. -

As many of us said, it happens in and out on the same servers, so same misison runiing and resetting each days, sometimes it works sometiems it's broken, so basicly has nothing to do with the Mission Editing, as if it was it would always be broken, not in and out, and no reasons why sometimes you'Re ont he deck it works, sometimes it doesn'T as it wouldn't make sens, it should always work on not when standing on the same spot, either at it should work airborn or not, only difference as i said on my previous post is, the travelling the carrier might have done, but again i dunno, but it's a bit more complicated than a ME option. -

Yep there seems to be an akward bug once in a while on multi-player i could never point out, though people says it'S you'Re far, you'Re this and that, i did a few test a few patches ago and latest patches also when it happened, and mostly has nothing to do from being far from it, as i simply loged out the server, open the Multi-Player track i was on in the Mission Editor and saved it as .miz, i then loaded on the deck, exactly where i was in the server, and the Tacan Worked, so basicly if it's bug it might had something to do with distance, but maybe something processing wrogn that the tacan folows the ship, but the original emitting source stays where the ship started in the mission, so after a few hours of server running at one point the tacan breaks as it's too far from where it started, dunno. But the few times it happenned to me on a server, i simply made the same test, and had no issues when loading it on my side. Same with the Hornet's exterior sounds, for some reason, on multi-player, when looking it side ways in F2 view, it has a properler sound, like the C-130, but watch it on single player, and normal sound. Go figure. -
That's why Photoshop exist, so all virtual pilots can creat their own virtual helmet for their virtual pilot in their virtual aircraft. :) The point is, no one from the team would waste their times to creates them as it's not like this in RL and it's pretty much a thing very few wants, i personaly create all my liveries, and i think i merely never, ever wasted time on helmets.

Well if the Stennis is the new Carrier, i do hope one day they'll work on Hi-Res texture, cuz it'S ugly as **** :) Lines are way more blurry then a yellow line on the street would be for a drunken driver passing the line test from a police officer :P

This ^^^ Though, just make sure to use the proper keystrokes, as some of us have slash some others backslash, so simply find the folowing keybinding names in your control menu: COMM Switch - Comm 1 (Make sure it's backslash or Slash when using) COMM Switch - Comm 2 (Make sure it's backslash or Slash when using) And make sure to use the right comm switch for the radio you pushed the grey knob on the UFC. normal Communication menu mostly only works for Ground Crew so once you are airborn mostly nothing from normal Communication menu (usaly / or \) works, maybe F-10 Other option might well though, i'm pretty sure. But any comm like AWACS, Towers etc.. won'T work. Also, if using Easy Comms as you mentionned, there seems to be an issue sometimes, as you'Re using Easy Comms, entering the frq as some says it's not necessary as it's gonna tune itself automaticly on the Radio you use, though, as i mentionned, sometimes there is a sorta bug if you do not manualy enter the Frequency even though it does it, you need to do the comm two times in a row the first time you contact a new tower/frequency, what i mean is, the first time you open the radio meny, for exemple if you contact Krymsk, the option is greyed out like al others, so once you contact it first, it's gonna auto tune to that frequency, but won't make the call, so you simply recontact a second time and this time the name will be white as tuned in, happens to me quite a few times, as the first time it auto-tunes and the second times and forward it's white and tuned to the frquency and the contact works... but seems like a bug as it doesn't always happens, so if once doesn'T work, try doing it a second time.

When i'm on Public Servers, either Default RCAF NORAD Anniversary on non-armement training/practice stuff or 409th SQN Low-Vis for tactical stuff (yeah i'm a cheater, i aded USA as country for all my RCAF liveries :)), on my own misison, of course, my own RCAF liveries.

Yeah, i found the Arguments quite a while after in Model Viewer as i was looking for the deck lights, unfortunately was quite a while after i played with a Hangar Scene, i finished it then stop playing around with this, took too much my patience out with the x,y,z's test and fail and reload to make it match :)

I'd say more they have SuperMan's X-Ray eyes as they can even folow through terrain masking in between mountains once they see you even though they are 40 miles away... i'm sure they do :) I'm in Vr, so i tried to sue the DoT mod last week, before the path implementing the option, i tried it and tok them both off, usualy i am not that bad spotting stuff, thing is, once i do i need not to loose sight of it, if i do, i'm breaking my neck looking for them, but only reason i consider using them is when i use AI armed with A/A missile, for the simple reason when i spot them from afar, missile and airplane has the same size when i beam a bogey locked on me, so i have a tendency as per murphy's law, to simply head for the wrong target/pixel in other words i'm trying to evade the airplane and not the missile as i pick up the wrong, far away pixel so ther missile simply pop up my ass, side or what ever i turn myself away from... so i simply fix the issue as making my training mission with guns only AI.

Hey man, What stick are you using, are you sure you're in the right colum? What i mean is, for exemple, on my side, if i select my Stick culum but try to bind one of my throttle (using X-56 Rhino, which throttle and stick are 2 seperate binding system) well it won't bind. I just did it last night and i had no issue to bind it on one of my Throttle button. Are all your buttons detected in DCS? In any casestelling us which stick you use could help a lot.

Open Beta crash since this week's path on menus

Well last night's Hot Fix seems to fixed it, was able to do a few things without a crash, we'll see further more -
The messages/Warning are only on left DDI, you know, the Bleed Air Left, Bleed Air Right, Canopy, Wing Lnk, Ice etc.. and so on, i don't know how in hell you get them anywhere else then left DDI :) Or did i miss a major patch that made this different then intended? I dunno who you are to tell someone where the HSI shuld be, i always had this habit snd funny thing is, even Lex in his ideo said that is where he puts it as he can see in a glance the info needed to cases landing without looking down the bowel of the jet and so did he in his video... but i presume, you have as much flight time in the Hornet as he does? You should tell him where he had to put the HSI. Try HSI on left DDI as you do pattern, you'll see you eyes sees it easier as you turn left constantly for pattern. but again we all have our choices :)

Hey guys, just curious, any of you guys also experiencing some crash in the Open Beta version sicne this week'S patch when accessing menus? Being having tonight only 3 crashes, once while going in the Control Option while in game, once i clicked the ok button to acept changes and leave the menu, and 2 times on MP servers, while i clicked the Leave Server button in the menu. Those 3 tiems the game froze when i clicked the button and got stucked with the nice time0glass in VR menu :)

It's absolutely a matter of AoA as for what we are concern now in DCS as for the pictures, as i was trying some stuff last night and it occured it made me noticed the behavior, i was sorta trying out High Alpha things, and the slower the aicraft went and i trimed it higher, the more it seems like the wind was blwing it away from the wind sorta way of saying, so at 80 kts or 110 kts not much g being pulled there for sure. In other words, just fly in F2 View, let the speed decrease and slowly trim, you'll simply see the evlolution of the effets as what i mean by wind blwing the smoke/effect. But since it's on Open Beta, it's more a matter of it's still a lot WIP

Lol so many time i simply sorta turn around pulling g's to watch the effect in VR, it's awesome :) Both the vapors and wing flex :)

Missing items being hidden on bottom of the Left DDI is normal as it's the Warnings messages zone as it's masked, but on upper section of the screen most be indeed a bug, i got to say i miss the missing Tacan carret on my right DDI which is where i usualy set my HSI. My bet is the missing Tacan carret is mostly a bug as there is no reasons why the Waypoint Carret is there and not the Tacan's.
