  1. I reached out to Upuaut, but no reply yet.
  2. @ Voc: Very much appreciate your doing this work for the community. Would you be able to update the old object mods by Upuaut that are used in a great many missions? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124251&highlight=upuaut
  3. Sorry, meant .50 cal.
  4. @Hardcard. Much obliged for the enlightenment, O Learned Master.
  5. DCS AI behavior deficiencies frequently require work-arounds I find. Made a WWII mission requiring P-51 to attack AAA. 20 direct hits with 20mm and the AAA was still firing. Finally resorted to destroying the AAA when hit.
  6. @Hardcard: Please explain "weaponType".
  7. How do you plug the Cougar throttle into the PC? USB adapter?
  8. 1. AI are barely qualified to perform any type of AG attack and are most incompetent at unguided bombing. They need lots of help. Exception seems to be WWII carpet bombing, at which AI does reasonably well. 2. Give AI plenty of notice to begin their bomb run. Set the IP: "Bombing" Advance Waypoint action 15 to 20 miles from the target to minimize their inevitable "mucking about". 3. Order them to "Attack and Rejoin" 4. Restrict AI AG loadouts to only the weapon you want them to use. 5. Be ready to do most of the heavy lifting yourself.
  9. In practice, USN ship formations are miles apart, except for PR photo shoots.
  10. I no longer get an aural response from AI wingpersons when commanded to REJOIN. Is this common or unique to me? The REJOIN sound files are in place and play correctly with VLC, but do not play in-game.
  11. Got it. Thanks.
  12. My screenshot. DCS.exe affinity shows all 8 cores checked.
  13. I have Z370 chipset with LGA 1151 socket and I5 8600 CPU; however, Task Manager shows I am using only 1 core when in game 3D. How can I make DCS use all cores? DCSW OB 2.5.5.3 something (latest) and Win 10 1903.
  14. Guess I will try to partially simulate my objective by destroying the uncooperative wingmen units and late activate new ones.
  15. One place to get missions is DCS User Files, here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ Word of caution: many user missions include mods to bring more life and options to DCS World and those missions can not be run without the mods installed. Mods subforum might be helpful.: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ I think many of the included missions you mention are accessed through the TRAINING app on the main DCS screen.
  16. Has anyone successfully commanded AI wingmen to land and rearm? I have set flight plan as above, but wingmen simply land and park. They never take off again.
  17. What issues? I am on 1903 and have not noticed any.
  18. Yes. Scripts become embedded in the .miz file.
  19. I use OvGME and have 2 configurations. One config directs the bulk of my mods to the Saved Games folder; however some mods, like liveries, textures, and default key bindings must be directed to the main DCS folder, requiring a second configuration. This makes restoring my mods, post-updates, quite painless.
  20. Trigger: On Destroy Condition: UNIT DEAD, CAR 1 OR UNIT DEAD, CAR 2 OR UNIT DEAD, CAR 3 ETC. Action: whatever you want.
  21. One way to do it would be to identify the cockpit click sound files and modify them directly with a sound editor.
  22. I filtered the original mod to make the call sign voices sound like radio transmissions and match the pitch of the surrounding voice messages. Not perfect, but improved.
  23. To reduce CPU load, I try to turn off stuff that is transparent to the player/observer like Fee suggests. For example, turn off ground unit AI and explosions when players are outside the observable battle zone. Also late activate air units until actually relevant to the mission scenario. Another good tip is to place one unit of each late-activated type at some remote location on the map and set it to uncontrolled or no fuel. This loads the object into memory at mission start and prevents a graphics stutter when the group type is first activated. You can also "simulate" action beyond the player's visual observation to save CPU cycles. for example, instead of programing an AI SEAD flight, simulate the SEAD event by scheduling voice files and SAM unit explosions/destructions.
  24. It is my understanding that snap views do not function in VR.
  25. Indeed, the mission creator could place a static building target, which a JTAC could designate.
