Russia has them too. I don’t think we could get anything officially except ai. A mod would be awesome though
-
Thanks I would like to see what we can figure out by looking at them.

I was wondering if you had any diagrams for the EWO station in an EF-105F or G? I believe the EF designation was proposed though I'm not sure if it was used unofficially. Anyway it makes a good way to distinguish between the Weasles and other Fs

Since the MiG-21 was published I've felt DCS needs an AI buff with a tailgun. The bare minimum I ask for would be to a B-52G the dream scenario would be to add the D as well

I'm just going to state any module you may want on a Vietnam map would be at home in the cold war Germany map.

I don't know why not. I hope you have written them and asked if they have any interest?

While I would agree with you 100% about ED needing to improve IADSAI, I still think even with the current state of IADSAI the G would still be awesome. So the first two questions are wether there is enough interest now and available information.

heck even with the German map it would still be awesome. The map might not be the right era for gen 0 or gen 1 jets

I didn't take it but it appears to be screenshots from this video where an F-4G EWO is explaining roughly how the APR-47 worked. He doesn't go into a lot of detail, obviously, but just enough to provide us with the basic theory. @TacticalOni took the screen shots. Anyway, I'd like @IronMike to chime in on the threads about the G. The main questions I have for him are the following. First did HB at least consider doing the F-4G as a flyable asset? I understand if you can't answer any of them If so, did they try to get their hands on the manuals and fail or did you get the manuals but simply took a business decision not to do it (for now)? All the speculation about how we can fill in all radar information with open source data that might already be in DCS as well as what is actually modeled really won't do us any good if can't get information on what the buttons actually do Next wether or not ya'll have considered a flyable G is there any chance of getting an AI G?

I always prefer historical maps here is my list of reasons. First, you can get a better online ecosystem. I talk about this quite a bit. In a combat flight sim an ecosystem has the following requirements. Habitat - A map Competing Apex predators - at least 1 module for both sides Prey - plenty of AI assets The Russian and Chinese Air Force aren't known for making documents for their latest aircraft equipment available. However we have the following MiG either now or on the way. 15, 17, 19(for now), 21, 29, and if things get settled with Razbam the 23. Beyond the cold war we're really dealing with P V E, and I believe most DCS pilots are offline and so this is the default however there is still a market for warbirds and cold war classics I think the Phantom was a good example of that

Yes, I'd love to see some of the other islands there if possible, the Gulf would be awesome. My requests for assets would be the following USS Lexington- F-101 F-102/6 - They would have a role in a Cuban missile crisis gone hot F-105 (we just need the Thud mmmm Kay preferably fliable) B-56 B-66/A-3 (my dad's plane) B-52 with tail gun more amphibious warfare stuff

MAP including Japan's Nansei Islands and Taiwan

I think this would be awesome for the F6F and F4U. As for a later date due to China's sensitivities could we have a West Pacific map which includes more of mainland China- 1 reply

Agree sams could at least change by type I'd love to have map templates which have airbases assigned to different nations and coalitions as well as pre placed SAM sites as for placing your own on a SAM sites on the map, I'd love the option to have AI assist with the placement

I've said it before I'd love both maps. My dream for Vietnam would be to have 2 or 3 variants. variant the must have early 1960s/early 1970s variant. We have the following "period" aircraft F-4 Phantom II, MiG-21 though wrong version, MiG-19 (hopefully) A-4, Bronco, UH-1 (wrong version), CH-47 (wrong version), OH-58 (wrong version) then on the way we have the A-6 (wrong version), A-7 (wrong version), A-1. We need more 1960s US and ANZAC ground assets, and of course some NVA and VC. I'd also say the following Naval assets- New Jersey, OKlahoma City, New Port News, Canbera, and some river patrolboats and gunships. Also NVA torpedo boats and armed sampan. Next possible variant a modern China vs Vietnam war this would focus on the Flanker, MiG-21 Bis, F-5E and JF-17 Lastly for the F4U a WWII/ first Indochina war. Korean I figure ideally there would be 3 maps. Obviously the 1950s. We need assets for the Red for as well as early jets. Modules I'd love for this would be the F-84, IL-2, FH(2), we have the F-51, F4U, MiG-15 and F-86 (I'm not sure about the Mozie and Spitfire) 1960/ "Second Korean" war there were a serious of battles fought along the border in the late 1960s which thankfully didn't result in a war. Modern era- we got everything here but the map.

From what I have seen I think the F-4G is probably one of the few Wild Weasels we could get. I'm talking about front and back seat Looking at diagrams of the system, I think it might be possible This basically works like the HTS in the F-16 its just a matter of getting the buttons mapped right Now we look here Frequency- exact numbers are classified but you could use something based on the different bands The RPF is pulses for second- this is based on the radar's max range lower PPS indicates longer ranges SPS sweeps per second that would change with the state, as would the FPS the displays with a bunch of lines show the different radars tracking you and is divided up by band each horizontal line represents a different band, I belive L, S ,C, X, Ku, K and each spike is a radar then to the right we have the attack scope, which I believe is similar to the HARM display There is also an oscilloscope more which would give us the power as well as an audio mode these last two items I believe would the hardest to get 100% right or at least close enough

Looking at the frequency/RPF pannel I think I have an idea of what could work. Frequency- I've seen quite a few books saying a SAM operates in the ___ band and we do have the bands modeled with the Shrike seekers so all we would need is a radar operating at random frequencies in what ever band it is believed to be operating in. PPS- pulses per second, I don't think we have this in DCS but I think you could probably They would help you figure the max range based on the formula R=2c⋅t SPS -sweeps per second on radars with disks that physically spin, that would be easy to populate The goal here is to make the bloops and bleeps different for each radar type. We will probably will never know on some systems but we may have a good sound on some I'd like to see what you have found on the Thud and AGM-78 please post here
-
The AGM-78 was standard (pun intended) for the 105G and 4G until the 1980s I'd expect the buttons used to get the AGM-79 ready for launch would be available through open source materials. I don't know what we could get in the way of open source information but a lot of this would be set dressing (for now) as DCS doesn't model radar ambiguity so the computer will always have the right SAM. I'm with you on this all way would need is the displays to be consistent. The difference between what I we would do and what Star Baby would do is we'd look at this pannel and see its an SA-11 while a real EWO would look at that and think it might be an SA-11 then look at this panel listen in, and study the oscilloscope so its really a matter of figuring out what enough of the buttons did and populating enough data based on open source sources to give you an idea of what is going on. This approach would require some weapons changes but we might have something. I know that if we could get a G I'd buy it

Only if there is an option so that a random installed livery replaces the missing one

IMHO it owuld be awesome to select the background hanger and the plane in the hanger punny You just had to be the PUN-isher

Any chance we will one day get VR support ?

It needs to be added to ground units
