  1. The question is...is it correct. This is a function of the real airplane.
  2. Those damn things caused problems during Allied Force. We had some cases of the FBW boom on the KC-10 getting squirrelly near precontact. Had to start specifically asking if it was off if we had issues... But I'm glad we're getting them!
  3. Who knows...he might have access to the SuperCarrier...:smilewink:
  4. That's the Current Stennis. 74 on the Island.
  5. It means you have selected incorrect fusing for what ever weapon you are trying to employ... an example would be selecting MFUZ - Nose when employing a GBU-10/12/16 weapon. Since the speaker is in the nose, there is no Mechanical Fuze (MFUZ) in the nose. You have to select EFUZ- Inst. for it to work... Check this out... https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305134/
  6. He's a Brother a Firefighter too...
  7. My question is what becomes of the two Carriers currently in the game? The Carl Vinson...Well she looks tired. I don't know when she joined the DCS Fleet but she's definitely not on par with the other Free Carrier. The John C. Stennis looks pretty good considering she's free. However, two CVN-74s cruising the Persian Gulf might create confusion when the DCS SuperCarrier hits the scene. SOOooo How about we turn the Carl Vinson into a Museum...or a reef...She's served long and well but she is taking up valuable space on my harddrive.:music_whistling: Then re-livery the present John C Stennis as the Nimitz, Dwight D. Eisenhower or Carl Vinson?
  8. Gawd I hope so! The F-14 is a beast of an aircraft and a great module... Was it released late? I don't remember...I know it's here now and I'm happy. We will remember how well it's done a lot longer than how fast it was done.
  9. Ahhh I got ya...i was thinking About the current FSSB and couldn't understand how it was too big.
  10. What do you mean it does not fit in a cockpit? It's no bigger than a Warthog Base...in fact it may be slightly smaller...
  11. I’ll be completely honest I didn’t do any MORE than 5 minutes of research because the statement was made “The Blue Angels do it” and in less than five minutes I found a video showing that was bunk. Oh look! It appears 1/2 of 6 Blue Angels do in fact take off with flaps up. My bad. Please tell me you are not really going to build your entire case on that? You understand the Blue Angels fly aircraft with a special OFP right? They’re not “off the shelf” Hornets. You understand all of their maneuvers are specifically authorized right? So OK... my bad 2 F-18s take off with flaps up. That’s not proof they all can or should. Triggered? Nobody is triggered. I am honestly trying to help. This isn’t about “you” flying the airplane in a way I don’t agree with. It’s about you operating the aircraft in a way that violates established procedures / guidlines and then complaining about the results. I could just sit back and let you guys flail around doing it wrong till the cows come home if that’s what you’d prefer. But we are trying to figure out what causes the jet to pitch up in the way it does when you do a Flaps Auto takeoff. It’s really not complicated. Doing an Auto flap takeoff is what causes the jet to pitchup. If you select Half Flaps per the NATOPS checklist there is no pitchup on takeoff. Problem solved But have at it guys. I’llleave now you folks to joust at your windmills.
  12. You forgot “no problem if FLAPS switch is set properly for takeoff” as directed.
  13. They Move...Which is exactly what they are supposed to do. If you refer to pg I-2-55 in the book that shall not be mentioned...you'll find a detailed explanation of Flap Operation. It states in part: So Yes...with Flaps HALF selected, the Leading Edge Flaps will move independently just like they do in the video while the trailing edge flaps remain fixed at 30° until 250 knots or the Flaps Switch is moved to Auto. But that's not the important part...The important part is this little tidbit... Since the leading edge flaps are obviously down prior to the cat shot...the Flaps are obviously not in AUTO, The -000 is your friend.
  14. Your analysis is incorrect. The ailerons are obviously deflected down creating a gap at the trailing edge of the wing were the aileron meets the launch rail. About 30 seconds into the video the aileron is flush with the wingtip indicating the flaps are raised.
  15. I guess you're to focused on the perceived issue to detect a joke... What you call "ALTERNATIVE CONDITIONS AND COURSES OF ACTION" is failing to follow NATOPS procedures and Tech Data. Apparently there are demonstrations teams that takeoff with Flaps in Auto. The Blues don't. This video clearly shows they have flaps set as they taxi and takeoff. However, I will concede that to my untrained eye it doesn't look like traditional "HALF" Flaps. It may be they get a different "Half" setting with their OFP. But the important thing is you have zero relevant information and command guidance regarding how they perform these maneuvers. Air speeds limitations? Fuel loads? Trim Settings? Takeoff CG? There is way more to it than just flipping the Flap switch and zooming off for the crowd no matter WHAT country you're flying for. Operating the aircraft IAW Tech data makes it a study module, Doing things that violate tech data is playing War Thunder. The -000 Disagrees. Find a copy of the NATOPS and Check page V-12-13. In the explanation for DDI Cautions and Caution Lights it states: Indicator: CK FLAPS CAUSE/REMARKS: FLAP switch in AUTO position at takeoff. CORRECTIVE ACTION: 1. Place FLAP switch in correct position for takeoff. I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I am simply telling you AUTO...is not the correct position according to the NATOPS manual. If you operate the sim IAW the NATOPs guidelines and restrictions...It works fine.
  16. You’re absolutely correct. I can’t direct me to the appropriate chapter/page where It explains that if you attempt a takeoff in AUTO the aircraft will uncontrollably pitch up and require a cycle of the flaps to reset the FCS. I ALSO can’t direct you to the chapter/page where it says landing with the gear handle UP...Alters the landing distance and requires more power to taxi to parking. Does that mean the ability to land with the dear UP is a bug? Now that being said...I can direct you to step 13.b of the before Taxi checklist that directs “FLAP switch - HALF” Not “FLAP switch - As Desired” Not “FLAP switch - AUTO” Not “FLAP switch - FULL” “FLAP switch -HALF” This is the proper procedure. End of discussion. Everyone “yeah but-ing” is doing it wrong. That is the procedural end to the argument. That being said as far as the uncontrolale pitch up is concerned... It can be surmised that since FLAPS significantly increase available lift...Not setting the correct flaps would result in insufficient lift. It can be assumed Insufficient lift at the end of the cat shot would cause the flight control computer ito compensate for the missing lift By increasing the AOA...I.E.A violent pitchup. But that’s probably not in the book either.
  17. What’s so hard to believe. From a flight safety point of view there are a thousand things that can kill you every time you leave the ground. Failing to perform any of a hundred procedures correctly each flight can lead to death dismemberment and destruction. In the case of the F-18C it is the tendency to pitch up violently during takeoff if you do not set the flaps properly. So it is practiced and stressed that not setting the flaps correctly will kill you. This isn’t a case of it shouldn't happen. This is a case of it being drilled into a persons head “If you dont do this correctly you will die.” It’s not a bug. It’s a simulation of a combat aircraft flown by professionals.
  18. They no Workie? Mine workie just fine last night and about 30 minutes ago...Which one you using?
  19. The F-16 has no "Control Stick" is because in the Viper the computer is all you have. There is no hydraulic backup. The F-18C (and F-15C) Have FBW controls backed up with mechanical controls. "If digital DEL fails, a mechanical link (MECH) automatically provides roll and pitch control through a direct mechanical input from the stick to the stabilator actuators." Quoted from some book...:music_whistling: So in short they could put the F-16 stick anyplace the wanted to.
  20. I'm curious where you got that picture... If it's on display, it should be inert. If it's Inert, it should have a Blue Band on it or be stenciled "Inert".
  21. Since you have Nevada and the A-10C. I'd start with this: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=287 and this: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=403 The First link is to a MOD that adds the Nellis Range Targets to your game. The Second link is to missions with the various Ranges populated with the targets added by the First link. The Maps also have various Nav Points and Fixes to use with the Navigation system when you get to that point. http://www.476vfightergroup.com/showthread.php?4342-NTTR-Mission-Public-Release If ya need more help just ask. "Paul" Hmmmmm That's an interesting callsign...must be a good story behind it. :smilewink:
  22. One thing I sincerely hope happens is when the DCS:Theodore Roosevelt is released is they change the livery of the free carrier to The Nimitz, Eisenhower or Carl Vinson. It would prevent confusion when Free Carriers and Paid Carriers are mixed together in the same mission since the Stennis should be included as a paid module livery.
  23. ED is producing the Theodore Roosevelt Sub-Class. The Five ships of this class have slight structural differences from the earlier carriers USS Nimitz, USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, and USS Carl Vinson. The Ronald Reagan sub-class are further modified so I doubt you'll see skins for all 10 Nimitz class carriers included. I think the best we could hope for is when the Theodore Roosevelt Class module is released, ED changes the free Carrier to the Nimitz, Eisenhower or Carl Vinson. (Maybe all three?).
