Have you set clouds to high or ultra in menu setting? makes quite a difference.

I’ve managed to get a reply from Magnitude/Leatherneck. I’m sure they won’t mind me posting this as they were happy to provide me with the information. VR pilot is planned for the phase 2 cockpit implementation. Which is great news as far as I’m concerned, and I know there’s lots of users out there which will be delighted as well. Unfortunately they couldn’t give me a time span, I asked would it be released this year and they couldn’t say. At this moment their top priority is the F4-U. So as far as I’m concerned I will continue to buy and support LN/Magnitude. I’m really pleased because I love the way the mig flies and it’s quirkiness. And it’s good to know they recognise this as a feature important enough to implement. I think it is, as I have said before, not necessarily an easy feature to produce and implement and takes a bit of time and effort, certainly judging by how long it has taken also with other developers and modules. But as I say I’m really pleased to have received a reply.

Ok thanks makes sense I shall give it a try.
-
Ok I shall do. My altitude above the targets or below when launching?, and supporting the radar below the targets or same sort of altitude?

SP.

So effectively it’s not necessarily the missiles but the a.i in modern aircraft needs changing, because they have to much & too effective SA. I’m talking single player obviously.

With the numbers of modules that have been released in the last say 6 years I can’t see how at some point the Phantom won’t be done. It’s standing and importance in military aviation is just to significant. And scenario wise, should they explore the Vietnam war era for example how could they leave out the F4, it would be impossible. So I’m sure at some point the F4 will feature, it could be some time though.

Can the target size gate be set via the jester wheel?
-
I can’t remember when I last had a Phoenix kill. 45nm launches and supporting the missile until I can see the flashing on the repeater. But never hits the target. I could shoot 6 and not hit one target. I guess that’s how it was maybe.

VR performance with RTX 3060 Ti, 3070, 3080 & RX 6800?
westr replied to Er1c75's topic in Virtual Reality
Thanks I found it. It made my reverb look more like my old CV1 for very little performance gain so I turned it back off. -

Is DX11 mode in steam still a thing I can never find it and just thought it was no longer an option with latest steam versions. Could you tell me where I locate it if it is I would like to give it a try. -
I hope we get a module with a naval and Air Force variant. I hope it’s the F-4C and maybe the F-4J. I personally find the F-4E a bit ugly. But the C and the J phantoms were so beautiful.

I'm an hour out I shall change it and see if it works. -

My DCS install is suggesting all my modules are not authorised on my account im having to go online and copy and paste all my serial codes and even then some are saying its not correct, Is something wrong at the moment? -
This for me will bring the Syria map alive. It runs fine but has poor draw distance in VR. But at low levels looks great, and runs fine for me too. Steady 45fps with a HP reverb. Mi-24 Hind low level over Syria=lots of fun. Now channel map, that just doesn’t work in VR for me.

Should I be worried about the pilots in the Hind
westr replied to Rogue Trooper's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Exactly this. It’s really easy to assign necessary switches, switches that are blocked by the VR pilot and that you need to access quickly, to the hotas warthog. In combat those switches would just be accessed by muscle memory anyway and you would switch them without even looking down. If there is something that’s not so important to access in a hurry you can quickly toggle the VR pilot off then back on again once you’ve clicked it. It works perfectly for me. -
Should I be worried about the pilots in the Hind
westr replied to Rogue Trooper's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
It’s not difficult, and if people really don’t want it they can disable it in the menu options so they don’t even have to toggle it. There are many and I mean many people who fly VR and really want it added you only have to look at posts on other forums as well to see. Nick Grey even admitted in an interview that it is something that the community wants to see more of, but unfortunately it seems to be something that is not so easy to develop and takes time. But when others hope that it doesn’t get done because they don’t want it when it means a lot to people and really it makes no difference to them because you can just have it turned off. Well I don’t understand that. -
Hi everyone, I have a trusty 1080ti 11gb which I’ve had for a time now. I have been getting good results in DCS VR on a HP reverb G1, but with the Syria map unless I set visible range to high I get this strange anomaly at the edge of the object draw distance, trees mainly, some only appear in one eye just at the edge of the draw distance, this goes if I set Vis range to high. However at high when I fly over areas with lots of buildings it’s too taxing and my FPS drop to 40 sometimes into the 30s and I can see my GPU is maxed out. My plan was to wait and see what happens when Vulcan is implemented later this year. But I’ve seen an opportunity to get a RTX 3060ti 8gb for £500. Does anybody have experience with this card with DCS and could give some advice, would I notice an improvement over the 1080ti for VR, or would it be a backwards step having only 8gb. Advice would be appreciated.

The moment it rises above the trees in the video, it looks awesome. It’s such an iconic helicopter and is a must for DCS I’m so glad it’s nearly here. It’s an aircraft I’ve wanted done in detail for a long time. I have high hopes for it.

Will we see this in the next update HB team?

Could you possibly make a good quality 3D model of a Mk1 Spitfire and utilise the cockpit and flight model of our Mk IX. I know it’s unrealistic but I love the MkI.

I can appreciate that the ED have put a lot of effort into this map, and after listening to an interview with Katia Peredenko its apparent that they are very proud of the channel map, and they should be proud of their work as a small team what they achieve is nothing short of incredible, the immersion DCS brings when I use my reverb never ceases to surprise me. Not to mention the huge depth of complexity of each of the aircraft modules. However I have to say, and I have commented before and I hope this is taken as constructive criticism, the channel map is missing the standards I was expecting for a WW2 map. It’s possible the map performs better non VR. But VR wise it’s not really playable. And that’s before I add a load of a.I units which is essential for WW2 scenarios, once these are added it becomes a slideshow. It seems over detailed in urban areas. The FPS drop is a huge contrast over urban areas. Until then I can generally maintain 45fps. It’s also as this thread is titled unnatural looking at altitudes in my opinion. Colours are off and don’t help, but something doesn’t look quite right at high altitudes, I hope this could be looked at as one particular new flight sim is really setting the bar for terrain detail. Other maps and decent FPS 45-50 and sometimes 60fps are achieved.

Yes the prices are quite staggering right now, and my 1080ti has performed surprisingly well with my G1 reverb.
