reported The shine of headlights is not visible in real life with IR cams
GKOver replied to GKOver's topic in Improved FLIR System
The IR photos which I have posted are made with a Skoda which still has classic headlights (with tungsten). With other classic headlights it is also the same. With halogen filled lights the temperatures can reach up to 3000+ Kelvin. -
Please add some more area of the east-south with La Rochelle including this submarine bunker: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Rochelle: “The submarine base became the setting for parts of the movie Das Boot. The U-boat scenes in Raiders of the Lost Ark were also shot in La Rochelle. The base is featured in the computer game Commandos 2: Men of Courage. It was also chosen in 2018 for the location shooting of the German television series Das Boot (a sequel to the 1981 classic).“

As I have seen in my tests of my four PCs ( ), the Theoretical FPS has absolutely no meaning for the real FPS. For example: without Vsync the real FPS has been 98 bit with Vsync the Theor. FPS has been around 200!

Could you please tell me how this setting can be activated? In the graphics.lua I can only see shadows = 1; Are there any other user who als prefer this setting.

I have done several performance tests of my newest hardware and compared them with each other. I have used DCS World 2.8.3.38090 Open Beta with Single Thread ST and Multiple Threads MT with an Instant Mission: AH-64D, map "Marianas" - Battle for Saipan: Dawn Invasion" After starting the mission, I have pressed OK, then [Right-STRG + Break/Pause] for two times (for displaying the frame rate) and then I have pressed the space bar. Directly after that I have checked the frame rate. I know that my graphic settings are very hard.....: null All CPUs as well as GPUs are slightly overclocked, except the CPU Intel I5-13500. reported The shine of headlights is not visible in real life with IR cams
GKOver replied to GKOver's topic in Improved FLIR System
I have uploaded 5 photos made with the thermal sensor of a HikMicro Pocket2 (thermal sensitivity 40 mK) and added their belonging 5 VISUAL photos (also black and white). They were made in the night (-10 C coldness) after a 30 minute drive wit this car (Skoda Roomster with Halogen headlights) and parking with switched-on headlamps for 2 minutes. -> As you can see: the headlights can't warm up the wall in front of the car and there is no beam visible. (Xenon or LED headlights are even colder than Halogen.) Of course, from a longer distance the thermal sensitivity and resolution will get much less. (May be that such a beam would be visible while heavy rain or snow fall under very special circumstances and a small distance.) I don't think that this behavior depends on the map. -

All kind of cars. The headlights are not infrared lasers…. Therefore the beam itself is not visible with IR / thermal cameras. -
There is only ONE possibility to find out if the GPU or the CPU is the bottleneck: by watching the frametimes of GPU and CPU. There will always be the risk that not all cores of the CPU and may be all pipes of the GPU really can be used. (And then the influence of the VSYNC.) Therefor, it is not possible to find the bottleneck by using the CPU and GPU Utilization. My problem is still that I don't know which frametimes are CPU-related and which are GPU-related. Especially if you are monitoring the second FPS monitor in DCS which shows you much more parameter/frametimes (Terrain, Mirrors, MFD, ...). Could somebody help me? What does Simulation (CPU-related?) and Present (GPU-related?) stand for? I assume that Frame stands for the total frametime of each frame. If I add the frametime Present to Simulation the sum is less that the frametime Frame.

In DCS the shines of the headlights of the cars are clearly visible. But in real life they aren‘t. Especially not with Xenon or LED headlights. They would only be visible if the headlights would have so much IR energy that they would warm up the street while driving on it. I have also checkes that with a HIKMicro Pocket 2 (40mK thermal sensitivity) and with Halogen headlights ……

I am also desperately waiting for this module….. I had the opportunity to spent one day in a German airbase of this helicopter in 1989…… To be honest: I have bought the Gazelle because I thought that this would help for developing the BO-105.

Since several weeks I am sometimes facing jumping / disappearing / stucking aircrafts. Same behaviour like there would be a big lag / latency between the two computers. But there is no real lag and they are directly connectected by using the LAN IP address. Seems that the new multiplayer protocol has a bug for me or that some request are being sent over the internet…..

Locally hosted server, clients connect but are stuck loading
GKOver replied to Jel's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Today I am facing big lags when we are playing in the same LAN. Of cource we have not switched on „public server“. I think that for the new release… all multiplayer games are now handled over the whole internet and not stay with the LAN. -
I just tried it again after on the shopsite and now the upgrade price is being offered. Bought the upgrade for 9.99 and everything is fine now. Seems that they changed their price policy on their website.

You have typed in your old BS1 license and pressed "Replace"? What for I need to type in the old license if I have already upgraded from BS1 to BS2? I am not sure, if I still have this old CD cover with the license key. I can't understand why I have to keep such an old license key. Currently I have searched for ist but couldn't find it. I have bought BS1 when it came out in the year 2007 (or?) and now I need this key again after such a long time? I have already used the BS1 license key when I have upgraded it .... -> looks for me like an harassment for the customers.

I have bought Black Shark 1 a long time ago. I have upgraded it to Black Shark 2 ("Upgrade from DCS: Black Shark 1 to DCS: Black Shark 2"). And now .... Eagle Dynamics offers me ONLY THE WHOLE Black Shark 3 license for 69.99 € when I am logged into https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ I thought that I can get an upgrade for 9.99 €. (Besides: I still have unused unsuable 8500 miles.) How I can get an upgrade for just 9.99 €?

FEATURE REQUEST - Slave guns/missiles to radar
GKOver replied to Redeye 43's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
It it possible to slave the guns with the FLAK tank Gepard. I have created two topics about it: -
The Gepard supports an Autotracking (auto-aiming) of the radar targets: Strg+F10 for switching to the radar view (Double) Click on a target on the radar Press V for aiming/tracking the target Shot by clicking on the fire-button or by switching to the F1-view and pressing the left mouse button This is a great feature!!! It would be much more convenient and realistic if this autotrack function would be included / supported in the F1-View. For example by increasing the radar size and by supporting choosing the radar target on the radar by a mouse click.

Not on the clients.

Under these wind settings, it is impossible for me to land on the carrier by ACLS. Manually or if the wind is switched off, it is not a problem. Seems for me that the ACLS can't handle the burble effect. ACLS_Impossible.miz

The are several videos available in the internet showing harriers bowing while VSTOL and without moving at the same time. But... how is that possible? I have an idea (with nozzle at maximum) but it is not working for me.

But even after a year...... this problem is still there.... :-(

!!! THE BIRDS are jealous !!! The BO-105 will taste the air of DCS
GKOver replied to The_Fragger's topic in MilTech-5
Many years have passed since I have unsuccessfully applied at the German Heer for being a pilot for this helicopter..... 1988.... And I have been invited for several days at such an airbase..... Now this airbase has been shut down and I have seen such helicopters on the back of a truck - demilitarized nd beoken into several parts.... And now I hope that I will get a chance to fly this little nice thing by playing DCS World.... -
Wheel brakes don't perform as expected - Not realistic
GKOver replied to GKOver's topic in General Bugs
How about thinking once again about your last post? There are only mistakes in it.... By the way I have tested several sports cars in the past and the distance for braking from 200 km/h has been 123-144 meters....
