  1. Totally second that. It was the first question to my mind when I read the radar TDC speed reduction in the change log today. TBH can't understand how it didn't came to ED's mind when they fixed it just for the radar, but not for the SA page...
  2. That's why I do have some doubts about that part tbh. I never heard about having any direct user interaction with the amraam's own radar, pre- or post launch...
  3. No, you can't lock it. You shoot the missile, and after launch it "opens its eye" and locks the first thing it can acquire. Hence the call "Maddog".
  4. Only handicap is, the laser version is not fire and forget, unless someone else is lasing...
  5. Some terms are mixed up it seems to me. Boresight mode is one of the ACM radar modes to quickly lock any aircraft going through the circle on top of the hud. AMRAAM boresight mode (showing "VISUAL" on the HUD) is when you launch an AMRAAM without having a locked target (radio call for that is "Maddog"). In this case AMRAAM goes active (Pitbull) immediately, and locks onto the first target it sees. This mode doesn't care if the first aircraft is friendly, so extreme caution should be excercised to avoid friendly fire, and rather never be fired in any direction, where a friendly aircraft might be in that general direction, let alone into a furball. Sorry if I misunderstood some things above...
  6. Same here. Yesterday it happened to me the first time, so I don't remember what did I do leading to that...
  7. Sorry if it is just me, but when I lost my AMRAAM shot, "LOST" cue never disappeared from my HUD. AA/ mode on/off, Master Arm on off, nothing. Bug, or user error? Sorry, I did not save the track...
  8. Tried to depress TDC (if you have realistic TDC slew OFF, that is...)?
  9. For both FLIRs it is the HARM/RAID/FOV button HELD long for polarity switch. Will look up though... EDIT: no, that's the sensor type (TV/FLIR) swap, sorry
  10. You need to "bump" the TDC to the upper/lower edge of the DDI for range, and left/right edge for scan azimuth change. Same goes to SA range change. And if you change the SA range, HSI range changes with it, so indircetly you can change that too. Context sensitive HOTAS functions you can find both in DCS manual (searching for "HOTAS CONTROL" or for the button names) or in Chuck's F/A-18 Guide.
  11. OK, then go to Post #1, and start reading
  12. Same goes to the RWR function button lights. In the lowest possible brightness, the lights actually flickers on and off, but does not dimm at all...
  13. Yes, but even so you can not dim it down enough.
  14. Sorry for a spoiler, but Sluggo definitely releases and calls out a Magnum to the Northern Dump truck, and orders Flip to attack the south one. He even says "I shoot first, then you" or something similar. My remark about suicide was about both dump truck sa-6, they blow up themselves way before the HARMs get there. Watch it on TacView, if you have it
  15. It still wasn't fixed...
  16. When releasing one HARM each with Sluggo, both targets die before the HARMs get there (so the HARMs miss of course, and the incoming missiles disappear). Does it happen to make life easier and the mission to be more survivable? Oh, and waiting to my launch behind the JBD on CAT2, the next Hornet on my right, taxiing to CAT 1 runs into my aircraft. If I'm not standing there, and leave him enough space, he taxies all the way out until just behind JBD on CAT 2, then a sharp right turn back to line up to CAT 1. Crazy...
  17. Do you start up the left engine first? Or do you start the FSC check before right engine is up to 65%?
  18. What is the distance tolerance for the IP?
  19. In other mission (in other campaign) I had the same problem, then when I checked in shortly before the IP (on the proper final attack heading), it helped. SOrry if it doesn't here...
  20. DCS manual page 374: Target Under Cursor (TUC) Data When the TDC cursor is placed over a symbol on the SA page, information about the symbol is displayed in bottom right corner as seen below: If friendly: • Aircraft type. For example: F15 • Unit callsign (first and last letter of the name and number) / remaining fuel • Unit bearing and distance to player aircraft
  21. Yeah, it can be found in the real life flight manual too.
  22. Going towards WP4 and the 21's, Rickshaw 03 being a bit sucked flying left wing on Raven 61 turned right and flat out "mid-aired" me, Raven 62, arriving from my 8 o'clock posit. Wrong place, wrong time...
  23. uhmmm.. is there any changelog somewhere in the Guide maybe? Sorry, if I missed it
