  1. I might be wrong, but as far as I can remember, TSE calculates (most importantly?) the lead values, if you shoot "sideways" with your gun, especially if both the target and your helo is moving, and not even necessarily in the same direction. From constant lasing it can determine the target distance, direction of movement relative to the helos movement direction, and speed of movement, all based on distance value changes and the time intervall between those changes. It's like a police speed gun but in a 2D speed and vector calculation environment. So it can predict, where the target will be after the time of flight for the gun rounds, so calculates lead and holdover with the gun barell while CP/G simply keep the crosshair on the moving target. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  2. It's not just on carrier, but also on land runways, so the difference is not just "deck height".
  3. Try to put the diamond to the TGP, if you want to do anything on THAT display/sensor.
  4. Yeap, HOT mic was the problem, found it, thanks for the hint. It was open for sure. Still making "Rearm and refuel" apparently, afer copying NVG request. Voice Attack recognizes NVG request as it should.
  5. Any chance to have some overlap with this topic maybe?: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/302345-wind-direction-is-reversed-on-tsd/
  6. On this same note, shouldn't be the Salute command substituted with "External lights switch to on" for night operations?
  7. I understand that, but I wasn't talking about the altitude on the gauge in my post. All I was saying is, when Mother says altimeter pressure should be set to 29.89, the program still sets altimeter to 29.88 (automatically). If we want to talk about altitude, when you set local QFE on any airfield as given in the briefing, or anywhere else, the needle will be a bit off from 0 altitude. You need to set pressure to 0.01 inHg higher (or lower, don't remember correctly) that the QFE value is given, if you want to see altitude needle to point exactly to 0. So in short, pressure value is always off 0.01 inHg comparing value given vs value shown. No matter if its QNH, QFE or QNE. Hope this helps.
  8. Thank you for your RL SME input!
  9. True, they did not indicate specifically chop for Apache bwing non functional yet, but they always mention before and after releasing the Early Access, that features will be appearing rather in order of "importance", not individual wishlists. And I guess the majority would not vote for functional chop button being the next most important thing now for the Apache. Just my 2 cent...
  10. 3x wrong. IRL, when you press Chop button, both engine are just reduced to idle. (How and why on Earth would anything disconnect the rotor from gearbox?) You reset your chop circuit by pressing Chop again. In the sim, chop has at this time pretty low priority, that's why it doesn't do anything for those who try it. They have much more important features to get to life before chop...
  11. Not that it matters too much, but in game "automatic" altimeter setting seems to be always 0.01 mmHg lower on the gauge as said on the frequency. For instance Mother said for Case II altimeter is 29.89, when I looked on the gauge, it was showing 29.88. Just sayin'
  12. I skipped it, nevermind. Then I realized maybe the Voice Attack/VAICOM combo "blocks" those calls made by keypress from the comms menu, that VAICOM can also make by voice recognition?...
  13. Hi, as in the subject. After refueling on the way home, ABE doesn't respond on PRI 4, 127.5 . I was on COMM1 for sure, and no response to several calls. Anyone else?
  14. Hi Gents, in the F-18C, if I ask the Crew Chief to install NVG ("Request NVG"), he copies, then confirms "Rearming complete" but I do not have NVG (as confirmation for that would be "NVG installed". Am I doing something wrong? Thanks EDIT: I still use v. 2.5.22. due some earlier recognition bugs. Should I first update before asking? I also have trouble with VA idling (without DCS running), and me sitting in front of my PC in silence. VA picks up a lot of word from I dunno where? See here How can I fix this? THX !
  15. If your turn is coordinated, they will/should not show you any bank angle, as they will point to the cockpit floor at any time...
  16. At least in the A-10C, you can select if you want to drop at the Optical Release Point or at the Ballistic Release Point. Dunno if and how this option is implemented in the Hornet too...
  17. For those who think tracers would be cool, think about the two end of the "fire stream" that would be visible at night. True, the other end of the tracer salvo would be the target, but the very source of the same tracer stream would be yourself highlighted in the darkness, wouldn't you?
  18. You have 50-50 chance to hit the right direction to zoom in, and if it is not the effect you hoped, you move the switch the other direction. Takes about 0.3 seconds to change. After 20 occasion it will become muscle memory. I think at least.
  19. I would try to move the throttles a bit back and forth, for DCS to "realize" they are there. I do the same for F-18, to "synch" in game throttle to the physical throttle before startup.
  20. My 2 cents: if you gained on precision with the extension, I wouldn't use any curve. You need to re-learn things anyway, so why not without any curve modification...
  21. Have you look it up among the user files?
  22. I guess not just naval aircraft, but on every aircraft with a reheat, you have some kind of a physical boundary on the throttle you have to to overcome to switch to AB. Moving sideway, or some kind of detent or finger lift, to know, when you switch AB even if you are outside of the cockpit, in a dogfight for instance.
  23. You mean this? Or you want to see some of my options set?
  24. Did you check all your control assignments, so that every function should be assigned to one button/controller axis only, and that every button / control has only one function? Wouldn't be surprised if you would find your stick back function would be assigned to the trimm nose up button, or something similar glitch...
