Oh... so you can trim just like in the Mi-24 or in any fixed wing aircraft... Interesting

Probably aerodynamically balanced out for the downwash evenly?...
-
It's either hover, or low speed, isn't it?
-
Don't chase the intended altitude with the throttle. The Apache tend to overshoot and oscillate around the "final" height in hover, but if you do not try to correct every overshoot with an opposite throttle input, you wil not induce any PIO. IF you want to hover a bit higher, then give a little throttle, then let go of the throttle (or don't move it) and wait until the helo settles on the new altitude. It will take 3-4 yo-yo up and down, but it will settle eventually. It is a big pile of heavy steel with giant engines, so it has too much momentum due to ig mass.

None. Curious how do you use it on the other hand?

So in short, this is a Pitot-tube plus static port for airspeed and air pressure, a 2 DOF (2 degree of freedom: turning around the vertical axis and tilting up and down) pointer (into the relative wind at any time) and a thermometer integrated in one sensor unit (or pair of them for backup/redundancy). The 2DOF (most likely) controls the Velocity Vector/Flight Path Marker on your IHADDS by simply putting the VV symbol to the point in space, where the physical sensor is pointing to at any moment.

Dunno which book, I took "mine" from CNATRA P-816. Nevermind...

Oh yeah, you're right abount horizontal visibility "logic"! I was rather pointing to Case II "above 1000" condition, because Case I is in fact also includes "above 1000", but you only switch from Case II to Case I, if ceiling goes above 3000, right?
-
Case I if WX 3000-5 or above. (Visibility 3000 feet and 5 NM). Case II, if WX below 3000-5. (Ceiling under 3000 feet OR visibility less than 5 NM) Case III if WX below 1000-5. Just nitpicking...

Google up CNATRA P-816...

I don't think so... Trigger guard is trigger guard I guess...

Thank God at last. Another physical joystick button spared for more useful purposes...

I just cant get the hang of this module (pilot)

@ApacheLongbow Anticipate to pull in a bit more collective as your speed decreases through 40 kts, then again through aroud 20 kts, at least in my rough experience... -
Real world question about CP/G flying from the front seat.
Razor18 replied to monkie's topic in DCS: AH-64D
To your 1st question, they are totally interchangeable, fully qualified for both seats. -

Razor18 replied to Chad Vader's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Was just a general comment, not meant to you, and as said, no pun was intended. Sorry, if it seemed so. -
"Loius ! I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!" ha ha, love your friendly and empathetic post... No signs of trolling at all...

Razor18 replied to Chad Vader's topic in DCS: AH-64D
I'm probably not the first one stating this, but I guess unless you have a specific (budget or health) reason to stick with a twist grip, a pedal is definitely a MUST for any helicopter in DCS. It is very difficult to properly control a joystick in "3D", and very tiresome for your wrist, which will degrade your yaw and overall control precision after some time. The Apache is a pretty squirelly beast, so it is a big leap from a Ka-50, if one did not start learning to fly helicopter on a Huey, or maybe on a Mi-17 (conventional tail rotor meant). And if someone can afford a lot of modules, good for him, but he is making a disservice for himself, if instead of buying a pedal after buying a helkicopter module, one invests in more helicopter moduls (with tail rotor), and then complaining about how demanding is that new modul with a twist grip. Pedal price range of course vary, but the cheapest pedal (Saitek?) costs about the price of 2 helo moduls, but without pedal he will not be able to properly fly even the one he alreaday has, let alon the the new ones... Just my 2 cents, and no pun intended on anyone. -
Is the NVG the original in game stuff, or is it modded? I remember the view under the goggles was a bit more out of focus, am I wrong?

solved Petrovich trying to fly my Hind...Whilst I am in the pilot seat.
Razor18 replied to Bungle_uk's topic in Bugs and Problems
Uhmmm... and what caused the problem after all?... Did I miss it here? -
So, in a bit more simple terms, repeated presses of Simbology Select Switch UP - toggles between Cruise and Transition symbology (on IHADSS) DOWN - toggles between Hover and Bob up (on IHADSS) DEPRESS - toggles FLT page On and Off (on LMPD) Correct?

reported CPG VR view is off center to the L side
Razor18 replied to Hotdognz's topic in Bugs and Problems
I never had this problem with my G2... But I always center my view whenever switching seats anyway.
