Air India interim official report released
Rudel_chw replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Military and Aviation
He did recognize it and the switches were turned ON again 10 seconds after being switched Off. But the engines need more time to fully spool up, the aircraft crashed 10 seconds after the switches were moved to ON again. No, they don't have guards on the B-787 (watch the video) ... and anyway a guard would be no deterrent if you actually want to operate the switches, it takes just a second longer. -
Hola, @ismaeljorda ha publicado un interesante video acerca de los productos WinWing presentes en esta expo y que debieran llegar al mercado durante este año, vale la pena verlo: Eduardo

check the install path, seems like you installed it on the DCS program folder, instead it should be at /Saved Games/DCS/mods/aircraft

Thanks a lot, seems to work fine Cheers and best regards, Eduardo

Hello, thanks for chiming in The mission where this happened to me and which I recorded on the video, employs a user mod: the T-45C aircraft, so probably it isn't useful for you. Just tested, and on your mission it works fine ... so definitely it's something wrong on my end. I will test this some more, on other missions and other maps, and then let you know how it went.

MS Defender IS an antivirus, it enables itself automatically if you have not installed a third-party AV.
-
Maybe your antivirus is flagging DCS files, take a look at your AV logs to see if it has quarintined any DCS file.

Air India interim official report released
Rudel_chw replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Military and Aviation
mid flight it would have been easily recoverable, on this case the switches were actuated right after lift off. -
Regarding the recent fatal crash of an Air India B-787, here is a super interesting analysis of this report ... and I'm left with the impression that this accident was caused by human error

I use it sometimes for creating mission storylines, see here:

Well, I went with the brute-force approach and did a Mod which essentially replicates the whole standard liveries ... 3 GB .. but it looks like this when in use: I see just the french liveries that I've downloaded from User Files, plus just a couple of generic liveries (that show up forevery country, so that you always have at least those two independent of which country your aircraft belongs). If I change the country to, say, New Zealand, then I get this livery list: much shorter, good ... now It wont matter if I place dozens of liveries on my Saved Games folder Pity the space lost with this duplicate approach, but my time selecting liveries is more valuable than 3 GB ... but wish Magnitude made this easier Cheers, Eduardo

Hi, While ED grants this wish, may I suggest to give this Script a try, it was truly useful on my rocket training mission that I did for the MiG-21: Best regards, Eduardo

I'm sorry, just realized that I never got back here to tell you that the changes you did work perfectly, so my belated thanks for a truly useful script

Hello, I tried to fix this issue, by editing the countries line of each standard livery in such a way that it matches its actual country. For other aircrafts, for example Heatblur's Phantom, you can have the livery files both on a zip file and on a standard folder, provided both have the exact same name, with DCS merging both to have the final livery. This way I could leave all the texture files untouched on the Zip files, and place edited description.lua files on the normal folders. However, with the F4U it does not seem to work, the Sim takes always the zip files first and the uncompressed one last. I tried them like this: but it doesn't work ... the USA liveries still show up for a french plane: I know that this issue is a bit confusing, but if anyone has an idea on where I'm mistaken, please I'd love to hear your advise Thanks a lot, Eduardo

You are welcome .. I'm looking forward to your Lancaster

yes, try "F4U-1D_CW"

Hello, On some missions, those with long travel to the combat areas, I like to add music stations on the ground that I can tune in the aircraft. Up to now I had been using music from bensound.com but they have made changes on their terms of use which prevent me from uploading missions walkthroughs to YT if they contain their music. So, I was wondering which other websites do you use for your own missions? any that you can reccomend? Thanks a lot for any help with this Eduardo

Hello, Since the last update, the trigger "Clone" button behaves differently, depending on the trigger name. If the name begins with "++" the trigger list is scrolled to its beginning. If the trigger starts with any other name, the cloned trigger is left selected and with the list centered on it, as shown on this video: hopefully it can be fixed, as I employ the "++" names as a stand-in for comments. Thanks, Eduardo

Kola map really?
Rudel_chw replied to fastfed's topic in DCS: F-4E - Northern Defenders 'Phantoms Rising' Campaign
I play Campaigns because I prefer flying by myself, the mp server scene is too toxic for me so no interest on looking at servers, I just purchase whatever map strikes my interest, no need to care if other people have the same maps or not. -
Maybe you have the historic filter enabled? (the clock thingy on the ME's status bar) On my DCS it works fine, I can place the objects as statics, like this: Or as Ground Units, like this: In order to drive the vehicles you need Combined Arms and setup an Operator role: Once the mission starts, you select the vehicle on the map: and press Right Alt + J to sit on it: Unfortunately CA does not support headtracking to move the operators head, you can only move it with the mouse. However the driving can be dona with the Hotas. No idea, I didn't need any additional file, as Massun assets are built-into DCS.
