I tested the argentine's "25 de Mayo" which is an ex-british carrier, but the AI F4U does not want to launch from it

Thanks again @gabuzomeu ... just downloaded the skins and they look great: Pity that Magnitude has made all the base liveries available to all countries, so for this french Corsair the mission editor shows also skins for countries like US and Japan Best regards, Eduardo

Wait until tomorrow's Newsletter, or just go to the e-shop and browse what you want.

in the "doc" folder of DCS

thank you, great tip, will note it on my references

@SirPueo please, where can I get that argentine skin?

An advantage of being a SP-only player, is that I can just press Pause on my keyboard, so no need for fictional devices on my Corsair

sorry mi mistake, I was thinking of a different issue … the tora tora mission should be fixed on the next dcs update.
-
the mission's author stated that it is not a bug or error, but a design decision: Missions made for WW2 Maps are designed to be used alongside the WW2 Assets Pack: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/wwii_assets_pack/ You might want to purchase it during the current Sale, this will also mean that you will be able to purchase the Pacific Assets at a 30% discount once they are released: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/newsletters/efb74b9a7ab1067e51ff6f796b07a4b4/

The summer sale started today: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/ I indulged myself with a few Campaigns Didn't purchase any Modules as just a few days ago I bought the F4U Cheers to all, Eduardo PD: question: which is more correct, began or begun?

Probably they were referring to an updated 2.0 version of the Mig-21 ... I agree that it is still too son, but once the F4U is more mature I'd love to see M3 focusing on a paid upgrade to the -21, like the A-10C2 or the BS3 (not the F5E remaster, which was merely an aesthetics upgrade)

I fail to see your point

Acting and story so-so, but many scenes featuring Corsairs .. well worth the watch:

Right at this moment the P-47 is better: Pros of the P47: More immersive engine sound. More comprehensive control bindings. And most important for me, there are a couple of truly excellent Campaigns available at very reasonable cost. Its only Con would be no carrier operations. The F4U has great Pro: it has a WW2 map available for free, while for the P-47 they are payware. Edit: just realized that this is irrelevant, as the P-47 can also employ this map As the F4U matures during its EA period, this balance will change.

You can easily customize your default head position, with this procedure (its for a modern jet, but works the same with warbirds): a) Begin by pressing the 5 key on the numeric Pad, to center the current view. You won’t notice any effect if it is already centered. b) Now press the [NumPad Enter] key, to re-set the View Zoom back to neutral (1x). Again, you won’t notice any effect if the Zoom is already at neutral. c) Headtracking OFF. If you are using a Head tracking device, for an easier POV adjustment press its software hotkey to center its view, and then press its hotkey to stop or pause the Head tracking. d) Move your virtual head forward or back with [RCtl + RShf + NumPad*] or [RCtl + RShf + NumPad/] until the whole width of HUD symbology can be seen. e) Next, move your virtual head up/down with [RCtl + RShf + NumPad8] or [RCtl + RShf + NumPad2] until the whole height of HUD symbology can be seen. f) Finally, zoom the view with [NumPad/] and [NumPad*], to adjust your view of the front panel while keeping the HUD symbology legible. g) Press [RAlt + NumPad0] to store this customized view on the [NumPad5] view position, which is the default view. h) If you are using a Head tracking device, press its hotkey to un-pause or start its software. This completes the point of view adjustment, from now on all flights with this aircraft will employ this setting as default. The setting is independent for each DCS Module.

Electrical actuated systems working before turning battery on
Rudel_chw replied to Pribs86's topic in Bugs and Problems
the corsair has a lot of systems that employ hydraulic power: the landing gear, flaps, wing fold, cannon arming, and the cowl flaps, all of them can operate for a bit with the engine not yet running, until the accumulator depletes. I haven't flown the p47 recently, so cannot really compare the two -

Rudel_chw replied to Pribs86's topic in Bugs and Problems
at least the cowl flaps are operated hydraulically, not electric. the hydraulic system includes an accumulator so you have a bit of hydro pressure available at cold start, but will deplete fairly quickly you can employ the manual hydraulic pump at your left, to build up more pressure -
I have experienced it, but only on a few occasions, like after a Windows reinstall, or when a DCS developer has introduced new control bindings for their aircraft. I never backup the DCS program folder, for one it currently uses 815 GB and I don't have enough free drive space for such a backup, and on the other I can always download any missing or damaged file from this folder using the "DCS_Updater.exe Repair" command. Yes, its always useful to have a backup of it and it is usually small enough, mine is just 7.1 GB. However, on my case I prefer to have a continuous backup, by placing most DCS config folders on a Cloud Drive using windows hard links: This only works if the updated DCS does not include new bindings on some modules, or if the Windows USB configuration has not changed between the backup and the restore. Besides, it is unnecesary as DCS updates never touches your Saved Games folder. Before updating DCS I only disable all my user mods, for this I employ the OvGME mod manager utility, and re-enable them after the update. Can you show us the contents of your CH47 input folder? I don't have that Module, but for example my F-18 folder looks like this: No, it is still the same. Not necessarily, most likely your bindings still are there, on my capture above you can see that for every device I have several bindings files, this is because DCS will generate a new one when the Windows USB ID of a device has changed.
