1. What everyone else said. They did a hotfix today to fix some critical stuff, so it's probably good they've held off.
2. March 21st. Come on, you should know that's the only date that's been given.

Literally asked and talked about a few days ago, with an answer from an F-14 pilot (Victory205): https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=228870
4. But you also get that sweet, sweet feeling of finally getting it out the door :D (Just ignore the feeling of dread that creeps up as the first live issues crop up :P )
5. Hiromachi has confirmed not long ago they're going to tidy it up: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=228118
6. You know all you people arguing about what date HB should have said isn't going to change when the module actually comes out right? Victory205 had a good suggestion, maybe focus your energy into that instead?
7. Deja-vu!: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=225172 (there's details in there, so I'm not just linking because it's a dupe topic)
8. ED have already said it is this month in the previous newsletter: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3735501&postcount=177 It's probably either coming on the 16th, 23rd or 30th. They've also said that M3's Christen Eagle 2 is coming on the 23rd. ED tend not to launch two products together, so it's either this week on Weds, they'll break tradition and release two modules on the 23rd, or the Mig-19 will follow the following Wednesday (30th). I'd probably plan for the 30th.
9. ED will probably be using it to market some aspect of DCS not covered by the current Caucasus map, or to showcase something specific. With that in mind, there's a few scenarios that I can think of: Last newsletter they started talking about the carrier DLC again. They could pick something with a lot of sea and either islands or a coastal region to show off carriers. They've also been gearing up with WWII content too, we know there's another European WWII map in works that's probably paid, so maybe a Northern Africa map? Lots of desert, not much actual custom assets, should be a cheaper map to make and maintain. Finally, it could be a small map, something like a city somewhere with a large bay, to support more aerobatic planes and showcase DCS's flight models. Ties in with ED wanting to run more events with the new points system they're putting in with MAC. Whatever map it is, I'd very much expect it to either be smaller, or spase in content (not geometry, but things like towns/cities and such), considering they're giving it for fee. Or they think they'll be able to pay for it with money from DLC campaigns or aircraft modules that perfectly suit it. As a side topic, I suspect looking back ED wish they'd made Nevada free to more than just the A-10c pre-orderers, as it's the perfect map to showcase things off, and its dev cost would probably have been paid for by all the blue/red flag DLC campaigns.
10. There's a few threads going over how agile it actually is. Here's one with some interesting charts overlaying the F-15 and F-16 over the F14's turns: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=144469 tl;dr: F-14 out turns the F-15 by a decent margin below M0.7 and above M1.2, and isn't far behind in the middle. F-16 beats both in general, however the F-14 does actually beat it in ITR at slower speeds (~M0.4) under certain conditions, but only just. Bearing in mind that graph for the F-14 is against the operational 6.5g limit, if you ignore it, it can do get some brutal ITR, but as recently if you really push it. There's also lots of info scattered in this thread, if you fancy an evening's read: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=140030
11. ^^ Nose down trim and that's it. I often even apply some stick forward once the rear wheel is off the ground to pick up more speed before letting it take off on its own.
12. So would a bunch of us: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=176476 (previous WWI wishlist thread)
13. What's interesting is the recent removal of the baked reflections in the P-51, so hopefully they'll go from the Spit too.
14. If it is a 7 year old HDD, it is certainly edging towards failure so might as well think about replacing. The MTBF curve for most consumer drives starts increasing after 5-7 years. That said, if there's bad sectors or it's failing at I/O ops, you'd start seeing more random CTDs rather than consistently one dll. Have you tried scheduling a full chkdisk (p, r and r switches) on boot btw? Or did you just run the default check disk? Aside from actually fixing your error, I'd recommend replacing your HDD with a 250gb+ SSD anyway if you're going to do a full install. The difference in PC operation with your main OS on an SSD is night and day.
15. Everything said above, but also: Shoot the roots of the wings. At least until the new DM's come out. You'll have more success.
16. Basically, Polychop going to have to wait for ED to finally do the Huey (or Mi8) multicrew and solve the problems. After all, the current multi-crew was done for the L-39, which is actually two cockpits rather than a shared one like the helos. What HB have done for the F-14 is also irrelevant, as again, two cockpits not one.
17. It's a 3rd Party, not ED. They also built it for experience in making piston planes before they move onto a WWII fighter, decided to finish it and sell it. You'd know this if you'd taken 2 minutes for some research before posting what could be called a rant. I'm not going to gripe about its existance either, it's an optional module which a whole bunch of people will enjoy, and it'll take nothing away from the actual main sim.
18. There's a few games knocking around that stick to newtonian physics in space dogfighting...and they're not fun. Elite 2 is a high profile example, and combat is a chore. Real 0G combat in space will just result in the ships making slashing attacks at each other at speeds far surpassing human reflexes, really requiring computers to do the actual attacks.
19. Concur with most people here. Grim Reapers' stuff is entertaining, but it's not high quality or what's needed at module launch when we need accurate and informative videos. And after the Hornet vids...yeah...less said the better.
20. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it won't be the 16th of Jan for the F-14. Not with the last newsletter saying LN's Christen Eagle is launching on the 23rd. Plus Cobra has been pointing out over the last few months that end of March is when it will be out by, and HB or Wags haven't yet posted any official videos for start up/takeoff etc.. as they do just before launch. They won't suddenly bring it forward by 3 months. People need to just stop hyping themselves up and just wait. Otherwise we'll just have a repeat of the 21st again.
21. Just as thought: by going down these proposed routes, you'd be introducing different types of licences into DCS and associated complexity. Might not be something ED wants to open themselves up to. With regards to trainers, it's a bit hard to judge, opening up the backseat to non-licence people makes sense, but for things like the F-14 pr any of the up coming multi-seat helos? Not so much considering their expanded role. RoF handled it well by allowing people to jump into the turrets of the aircraft you were flying, but DCS doesn't yet have any aircraft that really have such limited positions to use for that purpose.
22. Gonna be honest, after seeing how badly Normandy was supported by Ugra, I'll be steering clear until it's been out a year or so and received updates before I even consider purchasing.
23. That makes more sense. But surely supporting having official events in that fashion is pretty much unrelated to MAC? With that in mind, it looks from my perspective as if you're going to trial it with the MAC aircraft, but if you just said that in the first place it would have been much clearer :)
24. It seems to be a very odd step to take. Almost like they're trying to edge into areas covered by competitors' products, but are missing the point of why people come to DCS in the first place. Doubly odd when it's from a company that once said "We'll not make any more FC3 level products".
25. Maybe it's a military contract and part of the TBS (like the MQ-9)? Or it could just be ED splitting stuff out of /Bazar. Would make sense considering the ChinaAssetPack and AircraftWeaponPack have also been put into CoreMods.
