Speed of Heat, For some reason I don't see your sig block on the first post. Could you share your PC specs? Thank you for sharing your settings and findings for getting the best play out of VR.

Make sure that your GPU is set to "Prefer Maximum Performance" under the Nvidia control panel. Also make sure you are running the latest drivers on a clean driver install (clean install will set all your Nvidia settings back to default). I'm running a 6700k and getting way better frame rates. Your low GPU utilization is an indicator of being CPU bottle necked, double check what your usage is in the menu to see what is causing you problems. Turning down your PD to 100% should help your GPU. Look into overclocking your GPU and VRAM as this could also help get you some "free" FPS. I have to wonder if the oculus reprojection stuff is also hurting you somehow.

WEP won't work on custom maps made before the update that added WEP functionality. Solution is to delete the P-47 asset and add new ones, or possible a save as (I did both so not sure which resolved). Copy and pasting old assets will not resolve.

Had to delete the P-47 assets from the map and re-add them for WEP to work. I also did a save as, which may have contributed.

Appears to be a mission editor problem. Works fine in single player, can't get it to work on my own missions.

Can't seem to get this to work at all. I turn on the water injection system via the button on the throttle and nothing happens. Am I missing something? Ran a repair like Brigg did and made no difference for me.

Do the virpil bases have holes on the bottom side for mounting?

Failed to add a comment on the survey for the pilot g modeling. This should be very high on the to do list if it's not included the flight model question.

Get a B550 or X570 mobo so that you can update your cpu later down the line if you choose. Mobo/CPU typically out last the GPU. GPU is also the easiest thing to upgrade in a few years.

Agree with others that there isn't much room for improvement single core wise from a 7700k that has been overclocked. With that in mind, since you have a 7700, if you have a motherboard and cpu cooler that can support it, it might be worth it to try and find a used 7700k and overclock it to 4.7-4.8Ghz. That with some good high speed DDR4 ram at 3600 or so should be a pretty good bump in performance. I actually think you would be way better off with a 3300X if you go for a new cpu/AMD for DCS. No sense in paying for cores you aren't going to use (unless you do video editing or other productivity stuff). Keep in mind, that a 3300X is on par with a 7700k in performance.

Not sure why no one has mentioned it but the M2000 seems to be very complete to me and is pretty easy to step into. No fox 3's though. MWS is nice to have for folks learning BVR.

Try putting more load on the gpu (super sampling, MSAA, heat blur, high shadows, etc). If you see your gpu load increase, and your cpu remain constant then you know you are CPU bound. You can also do the opposite and reduce GPU load and see if your CPU load stays the same. DCS doesn't use more then 2-3 threads, however windows 10 seems to indicate the load is artificially spread over multiple cores when it really isn't. I suspect that's why you see the indicated low CPU load while it's actually CPU bottle necked.

DCS doesn't currently show 2 different control files for the 2 different versions (-25, and -30). And I'm pretty confident I've loaded the -25 and gotten the my -30 control file.

I've seen something like this as well. It happened once I transitioned from a -25 to a -30. It seems like there are 2 control files DCS is using, and it seems to waffle between them randomly.

Agreed, this came back on for some reason on my index and I couldn't stand all the artifacts, some of which fit into the "shimmering" description.

Prop airplanes seem to be working better then modern fighters in VR at the moment. However, fame rates in general in 2.5.6 seem to be down from 2.5.5.

Most likely won't come until after the current "stay at home" sale is over. Per Wags, they don't release new products while a sale is ongoing.

GPU, and def invest in a good cooler (air or water) and overclock the cpu, definitely worth it.

A new moon (no moon) makes the stars very visible.

Is there a full moon?

We really need to know what your graphics settings are in the game. There are many settings that can kill VR performance for even the highest end gaming machines. Have you tried the DCS VR pre set setting?
