EXP makes it easier to capture a SPI or place a mark point on a geographical feature. Once I get to the target area, it's EXP. Standard mode for navigation. Once you get used to using it, you will never NOT use it.

I'm guessing you need to remove the device in order to view charts, take notes, etc.??

Thanks for sharing this.......EXCELLENT!!! -
The Gazelle is going to be one of those "must have" aircraft....at least as far as I am concerned. I have the patience of a 5 year old when a release gets near.

Thank-you, sir. That may indeed solve the problem.

DCS is moving Forward..Controls menu in the Dark ages.

I agree with McBlemmen......compared to some other flight sims.....the DCS approach makes the most sense. Once you set up an aircraft....back up the file. I back up all my DCS stuff to the Google Drive. -
I'm using negative curve settings as well.....TM Warthog.

Recently, I've tried to refuel and have a VERY difficult time hooking up in single player on the NTTR map. I've paused after establishing the PLDs to see what may be the problem and many times the boom is right next to the intake....I'm talking inches or less.....the boom operator offers no help. Now, I have bad-mouthed boom operators in the past and they are a tight group, so the word may have gotten around....... I'm not having the same issue in 1.5.3. Just wondering if its just me.....

Program extends beyond screen
jcbak replied to jcbak's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Thanks for the reply. Strange thing, I can now choose 1920x1080 for the desktop and it fits...which it did not when first set up. That glitch caused the rest of the problems. -
I recently attached a 36" hdtv. At first I needed to go into my graphics card control panel and resize the windows 10 desktop so that it fit the screen. When I run DCS, the program extends slightly beyond the edges of the screen. I hit alt+Enter and go into windows mode which fits DCS perfectly however, none of the graphical buttons work when I click on them in this mode. Its a problem mostly with MP because the button on the bottom of the screen are buried and not visible. I changed the resolution down to 1842x1036 which seems to solve the issue but I would like to run at 1920x1080. MODS PLEASE DELETE......issue resolved.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to Poly_B, the 355th and the Virtual Aerobatics Server for organizing, hosting and facilitating the flight. DCS was a huge part of Blooze's life. He was on the forums several times a day and never missed a thread....about anything. Like many of us, it was a healthy addiction for him. I flew with Blooze for about two years....many times twice a day. When Bryan (Poly_B) started flying with us some time ago, Blooze would ask me, "Where does that kid get his energy from?" Well, Blooze...my friend...the kid's energy was very well spent. Blooze would have never believed that such a tribute would have been made in his honor.....but he would have ABSOLUTELY loved it! It is hard for me to describe the feeling.....flying with the guys that all had a connection to Blooze. It was special beyond words.

I'm using the Delanclip without any issues whatsoever. You might want to check the CAMERA tab. You have a choice between Precision and Standard. If you bring up the CAMERA view, you will notice that the LEDs are read as larger withh Precision enabled which can cause a collision between the lights. Change to standard, the LEDs are seen as smaller and no collision.

I would stay away from the Hawk. It's still early beta and no indication of when or if it will be finished. I would recommend the Mirage if you want to keep it simple as far as systems go, but you can't beat the A10C when it comes to depth. IMHO its still the best module offered by DCS. Yes the manual is huge, but you don't need to read the whole thing at once. Work on the aircraft as you would in the real world. Learn to fly it....Take offs, landings, navigation, basic flight maneuvers. Then start digging into the weapons systems and tactics. Small steps at a time.....using just the pertinent sections of the manual for what you are learning. It comes with basic lessons which are very helpful and provide a great foundation.

It is with deep regret that I inform you that one of this community's most enthusiastic members, Jim "Blooze" Mudgett has passed away of a heart attack on February 14th at his home in Mississippi at age 65. In his younger days, Blooze was a professional blues guitar player and toured much of the world in a band with a musician named, Luther Allison. As you can imagine, there were a number of great stories from those days. Being a fan of the blues I loved to hear them. Blooze had started a number of DCS MP groups flying the A10C which was the only aircraft he would fly....he loved it. Most recently, he had organized THE RAT PACK, flying the A10C on the NTTR map. There are a number of us that owe our start on DCS multiplayer to Blooze. I met Blooze back when he was running the RAGTAG AIR CORPS. I was new to all of this....having no MP experience..... and useless with the A10C, but Blooze tolerated me and I learned a great deal from him....about a lot of things. The RAGTAG AIR CORPS was a great bunch of guys. I know you all will be saddened. Blooze provided many voice overs for mission builders so most of you A10C pilots have probably heard his unmistakable, gruff sounding voice. Blooze had flown most of the popular A10 missions several times and took great pleasure sharing them with new people. As anyone who ever flew with Blooze can tell you, he would generally fly lead and once everyone was lined up on the runway, we would hear him, in his southern drawl, "Spool 'em up." I'm going to miss hearing that. Wheels up, my friend. Rest in peace.

Is there a way to immediately slew the heading selector (BUG) to the current heading without having to scroll the selector knob? In most APs you just have to push in the heading selector and the bug is slewed automatically to the current heading. The issue here is.....(unless I'm not understanding how this really works).....is that once the AP is engaged and the trim control is used to move the heading bug, the AP will turn to where the heading bug is once the AP is re-engaged as well.....which is fine in most cases, but it would be a lot more convenient to slew the bug to the current heading without having to spend the time heads down rotating the knob.
