  1. Sorry, slip of the tongue, or erm fingers I guess. Yes I meant rate. It doesn't say on the chart, but I would wager it's sustained.
  2. It depends on what you mean by turn radius. Sustained turn radius or max turn radius? According to your chart, it appears that the F14B in the configuration listed above, at 1000ft, turns 28 degrees\s, while pulling 7.5 Gs, and flying slightly above Mach 0.4.
  3. Coolbeans. I haven't flown the Blackshark since it was a standalone game. Thanks for the replies.
  4. I'd like to add to this, if you have AP YAW channel on, and your feet off the pedals and make smooth, slow changes to the collective, you will not need to make any changes to the rudder inputs. The AP channel will do it for you, to counter any given torque. I'm pretty sure that it was not designed to be used that way to take off and land the helicopter in real life but it's possible to do either without any rudder input in the sim, as long as you are smooth and slow on the collective pitch changes.
  5. You've missed the point I was trying to make. I'm not saying that they are bad. I'm saying that the particular variants were inferior to their contemporaries at the time of their introduction to service. I do agree that it's complicated though. How do you make a proper Mig29A simulation, without including the complex EWR and GCI systems that it was designed to operate with?
  6. This now begs the question how effective the gun is going to be within DCS World? Will the HE (High Explosive) shells be modelled in the game? I.E. You fire a H.E. 30mm round burst for a near miss on a squad of infantry out in the open. Will these shells explode on impact incapacitating or possibly even killing the enemy squad, like they would in real life, or will they be harmless near misses?

    Flight model

This from the guy who once wrote, and I quote: I'm not going to bother with everything you asked because I'm lazy Should be an interesting discussion....
  8. I think one of the main reasons why Russian laws and regulations (and this is pure conjecture on my part, mind you) are so very strict in this regards with Eagle Dynamics, even though much of the data is probably readily on hand and publicly available for many of these aircraft, is not so much a fear of NATO and others having access to classified documents or data, since it's probably fair to say that NATO and others are very well acquainted with the capabilities of 80-90s era REDFOR fighters and weapons systems, but probably because they do not want it to become generally known how badly these airplanes performed compared to their western contemporaries. Don't get me wrong, I love Russian fighters, the Mig29A is a prime example of a premier fighter design, at least on par to pretty much anything when it was put into service. This is why ED have probably managed to get permission to eventually make it a DCS module. Other designs however, like the Su27 air superiority fighter, and it's derivatives or like the upgraded Mig29 variants etc. have changed very little over time, are still actively flown and more importantly sold to client states, but were superseded by US advances in electronics, radar technology and missile design even at the moment of their first entering service. In short, it's a matter of pride. At least that's my take on it. As long as there are no accurate simulations of any of these "forbidden" aircraft, in the imagination of everyone who has admired them they will always be more capable then they were in real life.
  9. 20 posts by Mihaly. All of them hostile. All of them pushing for "balance" and all of them slandering Eagle Dynamics for not making REDFOR or Russian adversary jets, all of them skewed towards crazy conspiracy theories for reasons why Eagle Dynamics can't or rather "won't" do Russian active duty jets. Do you really think that making a new forum alter ego, and writing ridiculous claims online will somehow make all of these fantasies of yours come true? And they are fantasies. Why can't you enjoy what we have in the sim, instead of crying about what we can't have?
  10. Yeah, I spent months getting VR properly configured, with the Rift S. It's been a bumpy ride, and my system is no slouch. I have a RTX3090, but it still took me a while to get it to run great. It's been a hit and miss with regards to what settings I can tune in Windows, with the drivers and within DCS, and most of my performance "boost" came from disabling HAGS. So yeah, maybe it's time for an upgrade as the clarity of the Rift S indeed leaves a lot to be desired.
  11. I don't use the Steam version of DCS, just standalone is that a problem?
  12. So literally we are speculating about what the two unannounced aircraft will be but, you're not going to speculate because it will somehow "spoil" it for us? Ok yeah....sure.
  13. This is literally the main reason why I'm still staying away from a G2 at this moment. I don't HAVE several weeks of tuning to do. At this moment it's time better worth playing.
  14. LTE (Definition) - occurs when the tail rotor of a helicopter is exposed to wind forces that prevent it from carrying out its function—that of cancelling the torque of the engine and transmission. Any low-airspeed high-power environment provides an opportunity for it to occur. Factors which can lead to LTE are: 1. Main Rotor Disk Interference 2. Weathercock stability 3. Tail Rotor Vortex Ring state
  15. I'll believe that when I see it.
  16. It's literally a non issue. For me to successfully do that in VR, I literally have to stand up, or at least squat out of my chair and physically lean over in all the aircraft I've tried to do so.
  17. Just came across this wonderful demonstration flight. Would be great if someone could learn and reproduce it in DCS World? Regards
  18. The F111 would be an awesome addition to DCS World. Whatever the module turns out to be though, I'm sure it's going to be pretty great.
  19. I wouldn't get my hopes up for decoys, or any other aspect of advanced Electronic Warfare systems. It's simply not modeled well (or at all) in DCS World.
  20. The what now with the what something? Could someone translate please? (Maybe the Apache isn't for me after all....)
  21. Oh please! This is just pure BS. TrackIR is a 100x more of a cheat than VR will ever be. Do you know how I know this? Because I used TrackIR for years before I switched to VR. Have you tried VR? Seriously have you? Do you know how difficult it is to check your six in VR compared to Track IR???? Pulling 9g's but need to quickly check 6 or track that fighter at beam? That's not a problem with TrackIR but somehow it's a sin against God and Humanity if you can lean through your canopy, something that I can tell you that has given me absolutely, and I mean no advantage in combat, ever. In fact it's easier to bank the plane and turn my head than it is to physically move my whole body so that I can "peek" over the side of the cockpit. Back on topic, VR is awesome in DCS, and I probably would not be playing it anymore if I did not have VR.
  22. Try taking the Hind up with only 50% fuel and no armaments. It becomes much easier to control. I do feel that it's a bit overdone in our DCS version, and that there is something off with the LTE as can be demonstrated, but it's only a feel, I have no idea whether it's supposed to be like that in real life or not. What we do have is the demonstrable problems of the Hind behaving completely opposite to how it's supposed to in edge cases scenarios, I'm not sure how that relates to normal flight, but it's fair to say that it does cause issues and should be fixed ASAP.
  23. Considering how DCS WWII has fared with regards to it's adoption and growth (and most of that is due to a very small but dedicated community) not to mention the inadequacy of DCS World to provide a living and breathing dynamic campaign, I think that DCS WWI should be something that should probably be left aside for the foreseeable future. While Eagle Dynamics prides itself on DCS World being a diverse and non-period specific sandbox simulator, it is only an adequate sandbox simulator for the most part, with some brilliant modules, some great to average campaigns and multiplayer which usually works best in relatively modern scenarios, and very rarely and only with great effort in WWII scenarios. I don't think WWI is a good fit for DCS world and vice versa, since I'm very doubtful of the WWII stuff living up to it's potential any time soon either.
  24. How would they implement it? I would be all over this plane if it actually had a useful AI navigator, that basically guided you to your targets and back to base, but it's probably going to be the same old (check F10 map) head for grid coordinates, look for enemy, drop bombs and then head back to airfield.
  25. Yeah I've read (and seen the videos) that describe the strange behavior in sideways flight, I hoped that they took care of it in the meantime. The devs should be aware from what I've managed to read on the Russian language forum. As for the lack of tail rotor effectiveness I think that's to be expected in a fully loaded and heavy helicopter like the Hind.
