DCS World TARGET profile for TM Cougar and Warthog + MFDs
Prophet replied to Home Fries's topic in Thrustmaster
So I have been using this profile for a while trying to learn it. A couple days ago I decided to upgrade my SSD as it was filling up. And of course I end up borking Windows 10. Well I got it up and running. I even ran the profile a couple times. But now that I get it all updated, the profile doesn't work anymore. I have redownloaded it, deleted it and everything. Not sure what is different. I get the error; Running script: d:\Users\derek_000\Downloads\Target DCS Profiles\DCS World.tmc Compile Error: File not found: hid.tmh in Common/target.tmh at line 5 It doesn't seem to be creating this HID.tmh.- 2263 replies

Am I think about it wrong or does this make evading a long high max range AIM120c, the curvature is to our aid if we simple dive? Even going head on hot. Hmm.

Heres another. Happens at least every couple sorties. Logs.zip

Wow. Just browsing through the forums and I stumble upon this gem. I just thought there was something funky with my profile. Jeez! Thanks for the random act of problem solving haha.

Thrustmaster Target under Windows 10
Prophet replied to jjohnson241's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I finally did. Its a painful journey that I am not sure I could fully explain. If you can open CCP and download new axis and curve data, then you are good to go really. Just turn on the mouse x and y, and apply that. Then use Home Fries Target profile or make your own. I couldn't get Foxy to download or CCP to download and old style profile. I spent about 10 years using that profile, so I might even see if I can use a virtual machine to install XP, or use a USB drive. I really liked that profile haha. -
I have been around since LOMAC came out. That slow and groggy engine was a thorn from the beginning. Its been a real long time. But I haven't flown in a while, mostly stopped after flying the A10C for a while. Now I have come back with 1.5. Got the Mig21 to figure out :) Got my HOTAS Cougar mostly working, TIR working, the unique and completely unsupported Tactile Feedback System 3! And on top I am getting 100+ FPS. I knew the improvement was going to be good, but I had no real hope that the performance would be this good and have all the extra effects. Plain unbelievable. I sure hope it brings a lot of people back and new faces. Plus with the prospect of Nevada and third party theatres. Then in the not too distant future hopefully the F18 and the added framework for A2G radar that will hopefully bring another good chunk of 3rd party modules. Looking good. Hard to look back on the LOMAC days and expect it to have come to this.

Thrustmaster Cougar MFD Win10 2015 drivers
Prophet replied to Prophet's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I didn't, but I looked now. At least the Cougar and Warthog don't have anything. -
http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=298&cid=1 I was just getting my rig up and running after not flying for a while. I hadn't done anything in Win 10. Well I have had one heck of a time. I can't get nothing downloaded to the Cougar, and I'm convinced thats a driver problem. So I had to switch to TARGET, since everything works fine under the DX analyzers. Anyways, I was having one heck of a problem then too. And considering the Cougar problems I had, I didn't know if that was the cause. But every time I ran Home Fries script, well most the time, it would error out that a USB device had been disconnected. Well the MFD's were acting funny, the light status was not changing accordingly, and they would end up in random states of off and on and which l/r button or both was lit. Well I know there has been a problem with these before and the USB cycling power to them. Well I was looking around and look at what was released just 3 days ago. A new driver. And Home Fries complicated profile that makes new devices and such, starts no problem every time.

Yeah I spoke too soon, giving problems again. No matter what I do, I can get it to flash, but I can't get a profile to download. Soooooo since the HOTAS is 'working' in DX, I am going to have to switch to TARGET. I am pretty sure this is a stupid Win10 problem with ridiculously old software. Replacing the guts would be awesome. Thanks!

Anyone have or had the TFS to compare this to? http://www.ivibe.com/ The product is a great concept, just no developer support.
-
Had broken a spring a while ago. Even before then the darn thing had a problem holding a profile. Needed to reflash all the time, not a good thing. Well got a spring, but then decided I'll just wait until 1.5 to get around to it. Well got 1.5 installed, got the spring replaced, but the darn thing wouldn't stay recognized. It would show in device manager, but not take a flash or anything. I got an NXT Uber mod, so I am not really enthusiastic about upgrading. I had bought another Cougar a while ago, but already used both main boards. But I decided to plug this main JS board into it and look at that it works. So I switched everything out over to that chassis and its taking a profile pretty quick without any grumbling. Last life for this sucker. Next time it dies its getting sold for parts. Someone might be able to use the NXT haha. I know the boards aren't made anymore. Would it be possible to source some generic USB controller and rewire the switches to it? Hmm. Can't let this legend die!

Maybe you should actually try, you know put a bit of effort on in your part. I had zero problems understanding.

How many modules are you REALLY proficient at?
Prophet replied to Pizzicato's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
All of FC3, A10C, Su25T, Ka50. Just getting behind the MiG21. Not too interested in most of the helos and jets to come out. Maybe the Mirage 2000. Really waiting for the F18, because the current engine prevent A2G radar, and once its done its going to open a lot of doors for 3rd party. -
Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range
Prophet replied to KEULE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Could just be the sun angle. And the real strip has more red dirt blown across. I would think that is something that could be addressed by the mod community. -
Not only could I use some lighter springs, but some spares. Broke one in my NXT and didn't know it used stock springs. But luckily the builder had a couple to send me.
-
The slant angle on the SHKVAL is dependent on the camera, I wouldn't expect your slant angle to change with the laser on or off as it already knows that angle based on the target in the center of the view. The laser solution you can see if you are just using rockets or the guns, not sure if with or without the SHKVAL on and locked.

Even though I got a modified TM Cougar, had a TM F22 before that, and hmm can't remember. I have never been happy with the support. Even in this day and age where we have been able to hammer customer support through social media and really make some changes in some big names, they have never come around. Heck the support page is like 15 years old. I would be more than happy to wait and use my Cougar until you got your own base.

I'd buy 2 LOL. One of the first sims I got into was Janes Longbow. Sadly this thread was 2 years old. -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Prophet replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I think you mean radar guided. I think the reason for no F18 progress thread is as usual it hard to show progress with code. I think most of the effort is probably going into the A-G radar, and I really hope into a much improved Radar and CM/ECM/ECCM environment. Opening with F18's and the Growler would be pretty cool. Once the framework for the A-G is made though I think you will see quite a few people trying to get some 3rd party aircraft out. -
Whats the money mean to you? I went from 2 285GTX's getting average maybe 30FPS to a 970GTX and I get something like 90-100... Its so fast I don't even pay attention anymore.
-
You just have to adjust your expectations instead of calling it under achieving. I very much enjoy gaming on my 15" with a 6990M. I just don't expect to play on ultra.

Maybe it is having a problem saving the setting. Are you running as administrator?

Need help with a new DCS Rig: i7-4790k or i7-5820K.
Prophet replied to pandastick's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think I have seen tests that show even x4 PCIe doesn't show much difference. I'm getting great FPS with a 970 on a 4820K. Considering the whole memory thing though the 970 is not a great choice for SLI.
