Well too bad then, you can kiss goodbye possibly all modules other than ED's. Me meanwhile, will enjoy them The gall people have am I right?! How dare they think of making a living, or you know, what if a new 3rd party dev is only able to afford a part time/contractor kind of deal!

In a way, I am using it for bombing. It is a WIP effort though. But 5nms from target waypoint, start pulling up to 30 degress @4Gs and toss 8 SAMP 400s seem to work well enough for me. The system has no interaction with your sight or any sort of targeting aid, it is strictly for navigation. However, it is helpful for navigating to/lining up with a toss bombing target, and let you know you are at the distance to start your pull and execute your toss.

No. As far as I know, only F1s with TGPs were F1EQ5 and EQ6, as well as very late Moroccan MF-2000 upgrades. May be eventually some French ones too, but I think they didn't get it. Spanish F1M I'm sure didn't have it, and devs said it too as far as I can recall.

Please, don't quote any videos from that channel for information. From what I see, he just takes scraps of publicly available information, adds lots of sensationalism and conjecture into it to collect clicks out of low effort content. He quotes no sources for the claims either. Fragger himself denied it being on hold on Miltech-5 discord after seeing that video. Are things rosy for Bo-105? No. Looks like coder who was supposed to work on it isn't available anymore, and they're looking for a new one together with razbam, and Fragger is continuing the 3d work. So the project is in a difficult spot alright, but it is ongoing anyway. But that channel ain't the place to look for reliable information, at all.

F-111 Pig (Aardvark), can it be the next HB project ?
WinterH replied to Raviar's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Do I want an F-111? Hell yes. Do I want a Flanker? Hell yes. But, let's get real folks, Heatblur already has a lot of work to go through first. A-6 seems to be off in a distant future, we are waiting for the F-4E, which will later have a second version, and then there will be the Naval F-4s module, Eurofighter, finishing touches on the Tomcat and Viggen etc.- 58 replies

For me personally: Nope... (Points backwards) 90s "sims" thataway if you really want that. It is though, at least it might as well be.

Missile exhaust ingestion causes engine stall now since BS3 update. You need to fire them from at least around 120 km/h forward speed.

What's that expected difference between AIM-9L and M? I really am curious. As far as I know they are broadly the same-ish apart from L having a smoky motor and having a little less countermeasure resistance? To me it feels like stepping down from M to L really shouldn't make that much of a difference. Most significant thing between the two would be the smoke I feel like.

At least speaking for the Turkish ones, APQ-120 was in use for many years alongside EL/M 2032 equipped upgraded ones. I think they were retired maybe like 5 years ago or so. Don't know if Greece used APQ-120 jets together with upgraded ones. As for the South Korea, don't know but, I think they didn't upgrade theirs with new radars AFAIK.

I'll be more interested in those old cold war stuff than J-10 myself. But I'd prefer a later J-7 or Q-5 than a very early one. J-8, I just don't see any draw in. More modern things I honestly don't care too much for, but any properly red modern plane would be something different and interesting regardless. But in the end Deka gave us JF-17 as their first module, one of the most modern aircraft in DCS. So I'd be happy to see them give us a Cold War module next myself. H-6 wouldn't be my cup of tea, but it'd honestly be a great and unique addition to DCS, and we are already getting into some of these bigger/more specialized aircraft with C-130 etc. Still, I'd prefer a Cold War fighter or attacker the most. Also, I wonder if we can maybe eventually get one of the many Su-30 export variants from somebody. Russia seems no-go, Chinese ones seem about as unlikely, MKI would be amazing but I somehow don't see India being particularly cooperative either. But maybe something like at least MKA, MKM eventually, hopefully?

Honestly, I'll be happy with a well made F4U-1D. Magnitude 3 isn't one of the fastest devs around, let's be honest. With some degree of MiG-21 rework, an F4U to release/finish, F-8J and likely/potentially Su-17M4 all on the waiting line to be developed later, I'd really rather see them make a good -1D, and move on to other projects, so we can enjoy them sometim this side of the century Also, I feel like a -4 could be a lot less of a close match with any Japanese bird we can potentially have in future. In a way, I feel like the closer match-up will be more fun if we ever get a Zero, Oscar, Ki-100 etc.

Loaded up to the brim, as it kinda was supposed to be, I expect it to feel rather trucky. But I'm almost sure it'll still be faster than A-10 anyway. Which, granted, isn't a huge bar to clear. When it's lighter however, I'm pretty sure it'll be quite agile. This isn't me saying it'll be a great dogfighter for your average air quake server, because it won't be that. But I'd expect it to handle pretty good for a strike bird when it's light.

Mirage F1 will include 3 relatively similar versions with slight avionics differences, and a very similar flight model, as well as one modernized variant with appreciably different avionics. Heatblur's F-4 will have two roughly similar E variants from performance point of view, but DMAS will have different avionics, as in the case with F1M. Additional variants that would be interesting in MiG-21's case would all be significantly different. MF would be relatively easy to develop, as it'd be similar for the most part, but it would also be rather uninteresting too. MiG-21F-13 is interesting for many, and is very different in all of systems, flight model, and visuals areas, essentially a new module. Some, for some (clearly wrong :p) reason want a PFM, almost as different as F-13. Something like a LanceR or Bison could, believe it or not, even run into classification problems, and would have a lot of systems research/changes involved in making. Same goes for J-7s. The best I can see (if they ever entertain the idea of making a different MiG-21 variant) Magnitude 3 offer would be like A-10C II and Black shark 3, but only if they do a version at least somewhat similar to the Bis, and include both variants in the new purchase. However, I don't think Mag3 is inclined to make another MiG-21 version anyway. And that's actually just fine. Truth be told, they aren't the fastest dev. Corsair is still yet to come, and then there'll be the Crusader, and maybe then Su-17M4. I'd rather have them make us the F-8 and the Su-17, and maybe other devs giving us more Fishbed variants.

Cold War Interceptors and Bombers Mode?
WinterH replied to Kalasnkova74's topic in DCS Core Wish List
No such concept exists within DCS, nor needed. We have things like I-16, Yak-52, Christen Eagle II, and upcoming others like Chinook, C-130J etc, how do they fit then? We just need interceptors as modules, and hopefully appropriate aircraft to intercept. Hopefully jammers are improved along with such a module too. But this ain't no mode. DCS is whatever you, or campaign maker, or mission designer for the server etc put into the mission editor. -
Q-5 seems like a possible option for Deka to do anyway, and I'd be happy with it if they choose doing it as their next module. Razbam has more than enough to do on their plate as it is, between finishing touches on existing modules, doing the Strike Eagle, MiG-23, Super Tucano, Pucara, and hopefully eventually Mirage III and English Electric Lightning. Not to mention helicopters, but their help team is mostly separate I think.

J35 pretty please

I feel like either La-7 or F-15E will be the first to come, possibly Q2 for both. F-4, my current feeling is that it will be sometime around Q3 Kiowa, who knows at this point? Bo-105, at least Q4, if that F4U, seems not too distant, but seemed just around the corner 2-3 years ago, and generally I'm not one of the people who go "oh the model looks complete, must be close!", so, same as Kiowa, "who knows at this point?" Japanese warbirds? Most definitely not at the point in OP's list, if we get them at all. I'm very interested in getting some Japanese warbirds, but if we get any, I don't think it will be before 2-3 years. Chinook, at least art-wise seemed pretty far along in the 2023 and beyond video, so it may perhaps be within a year, year and a halfish point from now. Heavy core/engine related stuff like DLSS, Vulkan, Multi Threading, Dynamic Campaign, I don't think there's a point in playing the guessing game on these, we know these take forever, and they come when they come. I'll be happy to see them this year if it happens, won't be terribly surprised if we don't get most of them this year either. The rest, I feel are way too far forward in future to estimate a potential release date for.

De facto, they are right now because all the payware aircraft including FC3, most popular standalone mods, and even ED's two default free aircraft have them. In practice however, no, SFM still is the default unless modder has the skills/goes through the trouble of coding a custom EFM for their aircraft. Otherwise it's going to be an SFM by default, there is no EFM/PFM default. OP is asking if GFM will be possible to use instead of SFM in player controlled aircraft mods without a custom flight model coded for them, which is an interesting question to know about indeed.

If we can get this as an additional variant it would be very, very cool indeed. If however, we'd just get one variant, I'd conversely very much prefer it not to be this one.

Bachem Ba-349 Natter Experimental Module
WinterH replied to toninovak's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Cool stuff! -
I've followed Viggen in anticipation for quite some time though, people just doesn't seem to remember it, and have that myth of it appearing out of thin air.
-
Speaking from experience, yes, you are. Decent DCS modules take a long time to develop, are hard to even quasi accurate date estimations on, are almost always delayed multiple times. Sooner you adopt "they'll come when they come", more enjoyable the DCS experience becomes No need to read any malice into devs proving inaccurate in their "hope to" dates either. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

Wonder what's the part that doesn't work, if any? Because also on latest open beta here and just used T-45 a couple of days ago.
