  1. I'm asking because if it's on, no trims in any DCS plane will work. They'll be animated, by they won't affect the airplane's flight physics. If you've got it off now, you can assign trims to anything you want - they'll work OK.
  2. Can't do it in D30 "early" as it had three separate levers to release ordnance from hardpoints. Can do it in normal D30 and D40, however, by selecting all three hardpoints on relevant selection & arming panels below instrument one and then dropping all three bombs with a single button on top of the stick.
  3. Well, "cheat" in a sense that IRL you have to ident and mark position yourself, while here the game magically does it for you. But that's a dead-horse argument, discussed on this forum ad nauseam. These who want to use it - use it, these who don't - don't.
  4. By good old dead reckoning and being familair with the terrain - that's the hard way. There's a bit of a realism-cheat available, however. Once you bring the kneeboard page up with a map on it, you can make the game mark your current position on the map for you. Haven't used the function in years so I don't remember the deafult keyboard combo for it. Might have been Ctrl (left? right?) + down cursor, but you'll have to confirm it in the controls options.
  5. It doesn't, neither do German fighters. I don't remember if it's been covered in one of these numerous threads you've started, but do you have game flight mode on by mistake?
  6. Nah, it's still there allright, both on ED shop and Steam. Never owned it though, so I don't know how bad the situation is with the support. The question is - should the issue above be reported here or in NS430 forum section.
  7. ...or at least it should, but seems to be somewhat unreliable. @AngryViper.101 you might take a look at page two of this thread for possible workaround for the problem:

Not confusing really. Both maps are supposed to cover in high detail different areas with different airfields, as noted in the FAQ thread.
  9. I don't know how to open MP tracks, so couln't watch this one, but remember, if your 109 has MW mix in the aft tank, the selector switch on the left wall should be up, if it has fuel in the aft tank, selector switch should be down. Can it be that some 109 on the server have MW enabled and some don't? Genuine question, I'm an SP-only guy so I don't know how this MW selection by server admin works.
  10. You wouldn't get above ambient ~30" at SL if it wasn't . Yes, that is correct assumption. Annoying and uncommanded power changes are a thing though when operating with levers interconnected. This is where lack of MAP regulator in DCS Jug makes life a little harder when turbo can't make up its mind if it wants to boost already or not. You're gonna spend some time chasing the gauge needle with the levers.
  11. An old issue. Workaround has been discussed here:
  12. You'll have to poke Taz1004 about that, cause he's the man behind other maps versions of Better Trees mod.
  13. ^ That does sorta sound like duplicated assignment, which can happen after plugging in a new USB controller. Once again, choose the "search" from controls drop down menu of the Spit (and CEII I suppose? I on't own that one), type "rudder" and delete anything that's not your rudder pedals. Then select axis assignments and double check that no device apart from pedals does anything for the rudder. It could aslo mean worn-out pots on these pedals. Since Saitek doesn't exist as independent manufacturer anymore I gather you've manage dot get hold of used ones?
  14. Standalone version offers two-week free trials of almost all of the modules (minus campaigns and some of the 3rd party products) - that's a major advantage if you're not willing to spend money on something which later turns out to be not your thing. Try a plane or a map for two weeks and return it if you don't like it. You will also be able to repeat the trial 6 months later. Steam 2-hour (?) refund option can't even compare here. As for the prices, if you're not located in a specific country with Steam regional pricing (which can be significantly lower compared to standard USD equivalent price I admit), I think sales on ED shop offer roughly similar prices to Steam overall and they start in similar dates compared to Steam sales.
  15. ^ Might be more of an expectations error than user one . Keep in mind we've got a single stage Merlin powered version, which was very fast for '42 standards, when it was introduced, but not so much for '44. At sea level, where you'll be spending most of your time in DCS, Mossie is borderline comparable with A8 (depending on whether it has its bomb rack on or off) and slower than everything else.
  16. Actually, stuttering increase has been one of the main problems many of us have noticed with current revision of MT in OB. Players' experiences are all over the place, however, so you'll have to wait and see how MT runs on your hardware. You can certainly count on a healthy bump in overall framerate, though! Don't forget to read FAQ to make sure you're launching the game with correct executable.
  17. I don't use auto-rudder option, but just for the sake of troubleshooting turned it on and loaded the free flight to see what would happen. The rudder trim works, but only barely, and in a very limited range, One notch off center is all I could get in cruise flight. So yeah, looks like it's definitely somehow tied to auto-rudder function, but if that one works, there's not really much need for trimming anyway? Believe me, you need to be trimming a LOT more often with auto-rudder off.
  18. Open Beta here, plus Warthog HOTAS. Actually, both Anton and Dora have the same flap commands with "toggle flaps up" and "toggle flaps down" that can be assigned to flaps switch on the throttle, although they make the switch work like a three-way one, enabling takeoff setting whenever switch is flipped to middle position. It's always been like that and I actually prefer it that way but I can understand why some would prefer it to behave like a two-way switch. I can't assign rocket safety and jettison either (greyed out), but I don't remember if it's been like it before, or it's just a question of 2.8.4 not working well with older diff.lua files. Why don't you temporarily remove the diff.lua of your throttle and see if you can make new assignments then? If not, you can try to reach LeCuvier, he's THE boss around here as far as editing diff.luas for non-default control assignments are concerned. He made a relevant tutorial, If you want to take a look:
  19. That's a bit too harsh opinion. I could partially agree about the gunsight, although retrofit was not as common as you make it to be - I saw photos of post invasion Polish Air Force Mk IX Spits, operating over continent still with old reflector sights. Mechanically, however, DCS Spit is referenced after MH434, well, not only that one, but for the most part. That was an August '43 airframe, flying in frontline units until March '44. True, it still has an oldschoold rudder and wobble pump, but it also has 66 engine, electric booster pump, fuel cutoff lever, bigger carb intake and wheels - typical '44 improvements still making it a "workhorse" configuration viable for mid-44. I agree we would need more than that for accurate late '44 / into '45 scenarios, however.
  20. OK, but you mentioned you're using stable version, did I get it right? In that case, as you noticed, it won't pop up anywhere apart from your shop account, you can't download and install the map indeed. Not until stable goes 2.8.4, whenever that happens.
  21. ^ You can apply Taz's trees on top of any mod. I've been doing it with this one and Barthek's one without issues. Relevant files just get overwritten and that's it.
  22. @NineLine A bit more feedback on what might need further improvement can be found in the 2nd half of this thread: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/323754-new-gun-sounds/#comment-5197871
  23. ^ What DCS version are you playing? The link on the first page gets you a mod for the old Normandy 1944 (and it contains Summer textures only), so that's something that DCS-Stable users can apply. If you're on DCS Open Beta, though, you already have Normandy 1.5/2 and Barthek's mod for that one isn't out yet.
  24. Which airplane, exactly? Some of them (eg. Fw-190, F-86, L-39, MiG-21) have locked engine-off position of the throttle lever (or "idle detent" if you will) that has to be deactivated with a separate key/button.
  25. These are just old DCS clouds - although not supported anymore, they're still in the game and will be visible if the mission is old, or if players specifically turns them on in the editor. Campaign mission you mention was last updated in February 2020, while the new clouds were implemented in April 2021. The campaign has just never been updated to work with the new ones. You can do it manually yourself, but since you're finishing the campaign anyway, I suppose it's a bit too late for that.
