  1. Most modern western aircraft don't use QFE anymore so they don't have the altimeters anymore that have big ranges of pressure settings. Use the QNH from the briefing instead of the QFE.
  2. Can you attach a short track?
  3. There is no yellow Follow-Me livery available as far as I could see but there is a different one available on the user files over at the main website of DCS.
  4. Here, have a look at how to report a bug:
  5. In real life it has a data cartrige with steerpoints, bullseye, steerpoint lines all set up and ready to be loaded via the DTC page in the plane.
  6. Welllll.... You know, takeoff performance doesn't just depend on MTOW only. You even observe 2 of 3 aircraft constantly running out of runway. Have you tried lowering their weight or finding a longer runway for them?
  7. The behaviour has changed. You cannot set the laser code of the bomb in the air anymore, you have to set it on ground by pressing on the orange triangle when you select the bomb. This is intended, as rob10 said due to having no digital interface of the bomb, you have to physically set it up on ground before flight. You only know what code the JTAC has if you have contacted him before, if you have set it up yourself, the JTAC script is running with which you can check the JTAC status via the F10 menu or if the mission creator has noted down the code in the briefing.
  8. Yes, it is possible to use blender by now.
  9. The assets pack is already integrated into DCS. Remove the mod to avoid conflicts.
  10. It's not on the roadmap because ED is modeling a very specific US F-16 which did not have this system, so we won't be getting it. It's the same story like for example the drag chutes, AGM-84, different RWRs, EW suites etc etc.
  11. RCtrl+F2 then use WASD to move the camera to where you want it to be.
  12. Seems the behaviour changed. Now you have to press the button corresponding to the next lower Autopilot mode. So if you want to turn off Altitude Hold, you press "A" or "E", and if you want to turn off Attitude hold, you press "E". Not sure if intended...
  13. I think for a start you just need an aircraft that is either slow and or easy to handle. The F-18 is for the beginning good as it has nice autopilot modes and autothrottle, so you can focus 100% on the HSI and understanding it. But of course if you feel comfortable in other aircraft already, any aircraft with an HSI will do. As for training material, you have to google/youtube. First you need to know what belongs to IFR flight, like departures, arrivals, approaches, airways (or whatever you want). Once you know what is part of IFR, pick and choose what you want to practice. You can for example start off by flying departures followed by 3D approaches (requires and Aircraft that can do it, A-10C or F-16 as an example) and then work your way to the more complex 2D approaches. Arrivals are basically departures but in reverse, so once you know one the other one should work too. Some maps in DCS already come with charts, for some maps (Caucasus is one for example) you can download the countries AIP online for free and it comes with approach and departure charts (though they may not be 100% accurate as DCS is not 100% accurate either and things may have changed between the date represented in DCS and the latest real life specs). As for ingame training material, some aircraft may have actual training missions for them or other missions.
  14. 1) I know what you mean and the behaviour by the tanker is indeed weird and should be looked at. However, a workaround would be, add a waypoint just infront of the tanker and move the "Circle/Hold" action from the DP waypoint to the first waypoint. That would remove the weird behaviour.
  15. 2. I think your online converter is wrong. I've used three different online calculators and all those showed 264 KIAS is 361 KTAS. The one you linked showed indeed 270 KCAS equals 361 KTAS. To be fair, it doesn't make sense that yours calculates CAS, as it is a bit different for each aircraft, while IAS should theoretically be the same for all. So there is a chance you found the single one website who does something different/wrong. Will try and report back to make sure.
  16. The historical filter is not compatible with mods. Having it on hides all mods. The * is only there to group the mod's units together for visibility and easy picking. Other than that, the * has no other purpose or function and does not prevent you from anything.
  17. You installed it wrong. Put the WW2 V1... In the tech folder, not the Artillery folder. The Artillery one is unnecessary and can be deleted.
  18. You answered your own question. It can be anytime.
  19. No zipping needed. You can "open with" the miz file with winrar (not sure but should probably work with 7zip too). Then you can access the lua file directly and save it that way.
  20. You don't have to unzip or rezip it, you should be able to open the .miz file directly with it.
  21. Either download the mods (easiest and quickesr method) or open the .miz file with winrar or similar and open the mission.lua. In there you should have a line somewhere saying something like "required modules" and delete the mods out of that line.
  22. A jammer in DCS will only slightly reduce the range at which you get shot, it will NOT magically make you unshootable.
  23. Give it a waypoint in the direction you want it to go.
  24. You need to contact customer support for this.
