M3 - the ancient "gun sight accuracy" problem (since 2018)
razo+r replied to Razor18's topic in Bugs and Problems
And to make sure, you also selected the correct gun ammo type in the SMS page? -
"How to update the INS position during flight: - Tacan update: tune into an tacan station available in the tacan database (HSI->DATA->TCN). Press UPDT on HSI and select TCN. You can then choose to select ACPT or RJT, when clicking accept the INS position is updated. Approx 30 feet accuracy. - Waypoint fix: target designate your waypoint and fly over it's position on the map. It must be easy to recognize from the airplane, for instance the end of a runway, a special building etc. Your hud or HMD will most likeley show the waypoint has drifted off the real position. Press DSG before you fly over the point and ACPT the moment you are right above it. INS is now updated accordingly. - AUTO and MAP function is not implemented" From:

MB 339 Indiafoxecho communication wingman error single player.
razo+r replied to Tritolo41's topic in Bugs and Problems
If I were you, I would turn off easy communication. It's usually more trouble than help. Either way, is easy comms also enabled in the mission itself? When you try to contact your wingman, does any radio frequency change or is there some transmit indication with which you can verify that you are actually transmitting over the radio, so your wingman actually hears you? No answer from your wingman is usually an indication that he doesn't hear you. Either wrong frequency, wrong radio, wrong channel, wrong PTT used, intercom used instead of radio, easy comms not actually enabled in the mission, overriding your personal settings etc. There can be many issues, so there is a lot for you to troubleshoot. -

Are you using the radio, correct frequency and it's corresponding PTT button to communicate, or are you using the intercom, which is only there to communicate within your own plane and ground crew? -
Funktioniert der Kauf auf der Webseite von DCS? Falls ja, würde ich einfach diesen Weg gehen...

Spoiler: This is a satirical post. Take everything you read below with humor and humor only. Failure to do so may upset you. I can highly recommend you this one. It will for sure blow them away... It got what you want, close up shots, intense action and faithfully captures what (online) DCS is all about.

And with what wind speeds have you tested it?

The forum you are looking for is in the Ugra Media section: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/1315-dcs-cold-war-germany/

Stand jetzt gibt es keine Neuigkeiten dazu bzw. sie wurde vor einiger Zeit mit neuen Texturen bekleidet.

Check your anti virus, perhaps it removed some necessary files from DCS into quarantine. Restore them and add the files as an exception and run a repair for good measures.
-
Just to confirm, how did you enter the 500KTAS? In the mission editor you enter GS, so that could perhaps explain why. Did you crosscheck with the TAS in the F2 bar or with switching what the aircraft shows for a speed?
-
Do you have a short track?
-
If you ask the ATC for navigation assistance, they only give you your actual heading not what you should be flying. 79 means you are heading 079, which you can see on your compass, HSI and HUD or whatever aircraft you are using that equivalent instruments. If ATC tells you to fly Heading XY, you must first find out if it's either a right or left turn, then turn into that direction and then put the nose, either gun reference cross, whiskey marker or anything equivalent of your aircraft, over XY on your heading tape. Note that some aircraft read out Track instead of Heading (what track your aircraft is flying vs where your nose is pointing), so be aware of that. Now, where that number is on your HUD depends on your aircraft, and how you set up the HUD and what mode that it is currently. In the F-16 for example the heading is at the heading tape at the bottom, below the Flight Path Marker. Feel free to look into the documentation of your aircraft to see the HUD layout and where to find what information. Also worth noting is that ever aircraft is different. The F-16 has the heading tape at the bottom and the F-15 at the top without a number readout. So if you tell us what specific aircraft you are using, we'll be able to provide more than general info.

Do the mods appear in the module manager? Did you check that the historical filter, the clock icon, at the bottom in the mission editor is turned off?

Target closing rate showing 100+ knots too fast on TID
razo+r replied to Jar72's topic in Bugs and Problems
Standard temperature at 12'000ft will be -9 degrees (-2 degrees C per 1000ft, starting from 15 degrees C at sea level). With standard temperature gradient, if the temperature is 20 degrees at 12'000ft, that equals to 44 degrees C at sea level, and that is achievable at some places on earth. -
If you open the launcher, it takes a few seconds until it logged you in. If you are too fast and click on "launch DCS", this message will appear. Give it a more time to log in before starting DCS itself.

FYI, even numbers like .20, .25, .40 etc are usually used by VORs while uneven numbers like the one you listed are used by ILSs.
-
Perhaps you should contact the customer support via ED's main website directly instead.
-
The distance with which you can communicate depends on the power of the transmitter and especially on the altitude of the transmitter and the receiver. Since it's line of sight, the bigger the altitude difference, the farther the range is, provided there is no obstacle inbetween.

Are there any MODS for bombs with a larger payload/warhead?
razo+r replied to F-16 Pilot's topic in DCS Modding
Yes. It is a script file that you can load via the mission editor / triggers which then tunes the amount of damage a weapon does. -
Mysterious engine shutdown at high level.
razo+r replied to TED's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
What is your power setting and speed when you are climbing and getting cold temperatures? Can you perhaps replicate it and upload a short track? And when the engine instantly seizes, generally there is no way to restart it as it is an indication of a catastrophi failure / engine damage. -
Could you perhaps upload your mission so we can see all the details?

Big Brother has been confirmed watching you

Ideally you leave them in auto mode. They open themself when they have to. -
The transmitter of the signal is perhaps very far away and you receive a weak signal? Or can you give us more details? A specific scenario where it happens?
