Mission timings and darkness
JupiterJoe replied to Reflected's topic in DCS: P-51D Debden Eagles Campaign
"It's like the inside of a f**king basketball." On my way home in mission 1 and the campaign already has a fantastically authentic feeling atmosphere. Thanks Reflected for all your amazing work. It really helps you appreciate how incredibly brave these men were. -
[BUG] Wheel speed when turning on the ground.
JupiterJoe replied to bertOC's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think this is still a thing. Just noticed my right brake is not locking the wheel. Left works fine. -
reported F14A DCS 2.9 aircraft becomes unstable and explodes. No threat.

I always wanted random mechanical failures implemented by default -
Getting some stuttering. Particularly noticeable with the AAR basket. Using MT, GeForce RTX 3070, at 1080p. Tried super shadows on and off, same result. Tried non-MT, same result.

Reforger II has some brilliant stuff in it. I want to thank Rick_NSX and Rokkett for making it possible to complete the campaign and urge others to give their changes a try. I hope HB are able to make the necessary adjustments soon, ( I appreciate they haven't been able to proceed until ED have done their bit first), so the wider community can finally enjoy this wonderful campaign.

Why such a negative comment? If some guys want to have a newer looking cockpit, when most campaigns for the F-14 are set during a time when the F-14B was relatively new, what's the harm? I'd argue it also helps separate B from A, helps make it feel like a different variant and increases immersion. This gentleman has done the hard work himself. I for one applaud the commitment. I bet even HB aren't mad at it.

F14 seems very prone to drift, solutions?
JupiterJoe replied to Ddg1500's topic in Bugs and Problems
If you have Spoiler Brake selected and not Both (which includes anti-lock braking, like ABS on a car) then you will skid on a runway when applying the brakes too hard. -
Bug in campaign Operation Reforger 2 Mission 2
JupiterJoe replied to Wizard1393's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks Rick. I just downloaded said mission file and will attempt mission 4 again tonight. They're amazing missions with some great production value. They're lengthy scenarios too, which is great for immersion, but it does make it all the more frustrating when you're an hour/two hours in and all of a sudden everything goes quiet. I guess because Missions 1, 2, 3 & 4 were compromised there's no reason to believe missions 5, 6 & 7 will work as intended. We'll see... -
Is the fuel probe deployed in an attempt to account for the lack of drag from the damaged wing on the starboard side? Better than nothing. Pretty clever. I doubt it was attempting to refuel under those circumstances.

Bug in campaign Operation Reforger 2 Mission 2
JupiterJoe replied to Wizard1393's topic in Bugs and Problems
Apologies, I meant mission 4. I guess you're still working on it. You're doing the Lord's work. God bless you. -
Bug in campaign Operation Reforger 2 Mission 2
JupiterJoe replied to Wizard1393's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi Rick, did you say a fix for Mission 3 is in the works? -
I downloaded IronMike's updated mission tonight (originally posted January 18th), and it played just fine. I suspect next time there's an update that particular mission will revert back to the original, which doesn't work. Perhaps HB will be kind enough to include the mission file in the next update, so it's permanently written.

LANTIRN head tracking modes move LANTIRN far to the left
JupiterJoe replied to TAIPAN_'s topic in Bugs and Problems
Did we discover what the issue was for this? EDIT: Aha! You have to be below 24k feet and preferably not in a scripted mission where Jester has taken control of the LAINTIRN to follow a vehicle etc. -
As far as I know a crash is likely when 'simple radio' is selected and you try to use Jester to tune. As a workaround you just use the comms menu and the right frequency will be selected automatically.

Speaking of coolant, when 'fencing in', was it protocol to switch on Missile Prep whilst only carrying Sidewinders? If so, why?

F-14A with Supercarrier: incorrect crew signals / Setting Bingo
JupiterJoe replied to escaner's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yes, I believe it shows A2A weapon selected too. I think that's just something left over from an early build. The Lantirn displays weapon selected in regard to guided bombs. Not a huge deal though. I'd much rather time was spent getting the refuelling probe light working in a useable fashion, or implementing engine fire extinguishers properly. -
F-14A with Supercarrier: incorrect crew signals / Setting Bingo
JupiterJoe replied to escaner's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Could you please name a few of those? Do you mean things like switches being too loud? It makes up for a lack of haptic feedback, so makes logical sense to have that feature. I have no problem with that. An editorial decision has to be made at some point. You can't please all the people, all the time. -

Campaign change log
JupiterJoe replied to Sandman Simulations's topic in DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign
Fantastic voices. Feels so real now. Thank you again for all your hard work. -
@Rick_NSXThank you so much for your efforts. I suspect HB may be coming out with their own fix shortly, but we've already been waiting quite a while . Something like an 18 month wait for Reforger II and when it's a released it's a disaster. Reflected Simulations single-handedly released several amazing campaigns in that time-frame and they all worked straight out of the box. I don't think the work you're doing will be wasted though. It's all good practice for when you build you're own F-14 campaign, to put up for sale You could even do a step-by-step video guide on how you built your campaign, so that others may be inspired to do the same.

Feedback Thread F-14 Tomcat, Update 8th June 2023
JupiterJoe replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Are you using VR goggles, with low resolution? -
Does anybody have any idea on how long that sort of stuff remains classified? There are more advanced systems already being simulated in the Hornet and F-15E, are there not?

This amazing footage, released 13 hours ago as of this posting, shows a MFD display I'm curious about. It's referred to as a PTID. Is this an early version of a MFD? Is BIO in an A+? How come Heatblur's B model doesn't have this display? ...Just found this extract from the manual: "Both the F-14A and F-14B received continuous upgrades during their life, including new programmable cockpit displays (PTID and PMDIG) as well as a new INS system, a digital flight control system (DFCS) and an RWR system amongst others.". Anyway, it would be amazing to have such a display for the F-14, but appreciate it would be an incredible amount of work. I'd be happy to pay for such an upgrade. Just sayin'
