I think it depends on the lighting situation - overall I kinda like it. What I don´t like are the specular highlights / reflections of the horizon on the glass surfaces of the cockpit itself. The Dora has the best looking cockpit for me after the updates.

New 109 sounds more like a lawnmower than anything else :( Would really love to see some improvement in the sound department of the WWII birds. With the Yak-52 for example I think they got the sound quite nice! Not sure if it´s the recordings or something else.

Had Saitek Combat Pro and wasn´t very happy with them. And shortly after I ran out of warranty I had an issue - the left toe brake was no longer working. In my oppinion, Saitek has a very poor build quality and also precision wasn´t too good either. A wire was broken and I was able to fix it - still went for Crosswinds soon after and never looked back to the Saiteks. There is a topic somewhere on issues with Saitek rudder pedals as I wasn´t the only one - so regarding my own experience and reading from other people having the same or similiar issues I would advice against Saitek.

I´v also got a pair of Crosswinds and you can adjust the spring tension - absolutely fine to fly Helos as well!

I´ve only got a 970 with 4GB VRAM and Persian Gulf as well as Normandy are working quite ok (playing on 1080). Getting around 60 to low 30s depending on altitude and location. If I am not mistaken the 980 is quite a step up from to 970 so I think it should do just fine.

Zoo in sims has nothing to do with cheating. If you are zoomed out you have a much wider field of FOV - closer to real life. Zoomed in you get the "resolution" you´d have in real life to focus on objects and identify them.

+1 I also think smart scaling could work Just fine if implemented accordingly. But there were also postings from the community stating they were against it. And I also think ED has said at some point that they don't want to implement smart scaling ..

In DCS startup works perfectly fine without priming the engine.

Did you check your controller bindings? Because there is some trouble with double bindings / overwriting of configs in the new patch.

Locking / unlocking the tailwheel in the 109 doesn´t seem to make any difference now. Seems you can turn just as fine with locked tailwheel as with unlocked while taxiing.

I really love the MS FFB 2 - it doesnt have too many buttons though but its a treat when it comes to flying. Also trim works like a charm! You'd need to check eBay & co for it as new ones arent available anymore.

Kinda hard to find information on RLM 41. Inspiration for this color chart came from Michael Ullmanns book : “Luftwaffe colors 1935-1945” You can also find a color chart of this book here: http://www.crecy.co.uk/luftwaffe-colours-1935-1945-paint-chip-chart (you can just enlarge it) If I use an average blur on the paint chip from this site I come up with a slightly lighter value for RLM 41 of: 4c515f Maybe this helps.

Was able to redeem the code but I´m still able to buy the F-14 as it doesn´t say "already bought". Guess, it just takes a while. edit: If I go into the details of the F-14 on the e-shop site it says You already have a license for this product although it´s still active for purchase.

Hm .. it was just Cockpit GI which was set different - tried to change it but it didn´t make a difference at all. I think it really just depends on the background / lighting and probably how much you are zoomed in.

I wouldn´t pay for skins.

Bei mir ist das Update schon ausgerollt worden. GSD ist noch alles da bei mir - wobei ich von den wichtigsten Sachen eh immer Backups mache bzw. die auf andere Platten ausgelagert habe. Aber schon schwach - vor allem, wenn das im Vorfeld bereits bekannt war.
