  1. in every aircraft, flashing lights are engaged before you turn on your engine. thats to warn bystanders so they dont get sucked into your engine
  2. This is definitely a new bug. Im dealing with it too and im pretty sure its AIRIO as it only happens in tomcat, and the comms menus work fine when i change to another aircraft. This is a critical bug. even after removing AIRIO i cant get my comms menu back. there should be some way to , a flag variable or something exposed that we can easily rollback when this happens because, honestly, it happens alot with most updates, and usually takes some time for Hollywood to solve it, and he does eventually, but i cant have the plane be unflyable, and i cant cold start my aircraft without talking to ground crew with the comms menu. I have used viacom with all features for 3 years now. this is a new bug and we need a workaround that doesnt require my 'cleaning out' my DCS as if vaicom is the only Export.lua script running.
  3. You turn on flashing lights after battery and before cranking the engine. this is to warn ground personnel not to stand next to the air intakes
  4. AIRIO will read what is usually displayed in the Jester-wheel menu. those are commonly ordered chronologically based on their creation, and you speak using the order they were created. (so what is written on the label is unimportant) so the command would be, "Jester, map marker one to target/initialpoint/steerpoint3". The limitation being that you cannot map to server-created markers, just ones you create on your own map.
  5. Mafia, Ayyy, Ohhhh! what mafia? there is no mafia! we are just hard-working Sicilian immigrants here! fuggetaboutit! next week, have my money...
  6. Im sure that im not the only person to have a pretty complicated comms-switch logic for managing how to do ICS, Comms, SRS, and Vaicom all in one switch. Am i crazy or did nobody really explain what the new changes are specifically to the VOIP here and how they affect our keymapping and pass-through logic. Vaicom is totally useless right now (Requiring that i actively task away to the VoiceAttack app for commands to work) Anybody else having these issues? I use HomeFries' awesome CTS system for control-mapping and he will probably find a workaround, but really, couldnt we have documented these changes better? or am i missing a YouTube about this change (that came out of nowhere btw with no headsup until last week)
  7. Yes HomeFries gets it! and also awareness of datalinks designation of friendly! i mean ,even sometimes, Jester will sort friendlies, and sit in TWS-Auto mode on those friendlies while hostiles are also on the TID and being ignored! theres almost no way to work with that except to deviate your plane to manage the azimuth and force jester to reset! One other note, people need to get more friendly to unknown RIO. im a squadron RIO, and definitely know what im doing in there, and yet everytime i request on a pub server, im declined! wheres the sense in that? at least wait until i tell you i dont know what im doing before you decide that! Im a solid tomcat pilot but i only fly RIO in my squadron because its the only time i can actually do that role in MP! i can play pilot all by myself with ease! thank god and HB for the recent upgrades to Iceman that apparently nobody was smart enough to request. this really helped us to be able to do SP practice as a RIO! such a huge upgrade. thanks guys!
  8. Now that im seeing that the new DCS Voice-chat feature is deployed to latest open-beta, im betting this is a new bug on DCS side (which will require Hollywood to fix on his end) and since Vaicom insists on only updating for stable-release , this could be an issue for months.
  9. confirming i have this same issue after more than a year of solid operation. suddenly my Vaicom commands only work when i task over to VoiceAttack window. I think this might be a VA bug, but its definitely critical
  10. TBH i dont care about lantirn. im sure that will take some work (and i prefer to manually do lantirn with either myself in the backseat or with the pilot-mod. its the fun of A/G and mud-moving for a RIO!) . but the Iceman commands are crucial and have been out for two months. goto waypoint. orbit here. a RIO needs that shit! lol
  11. +1 -- we have been patiently waiting for almost 6 weeks now.
  12. I ran a 4k 42" monitor for DCS for the past two years. on a 2070 graphics card, it held up alright. i found myself downscaling to 1440 once i was doing big MP matches with lots of other aircraft, but in SP, it was pretty good.
  13. I do want to say on his behalf that Cubesim is not a fraud. After six months of waiting, i decided to cancel my order through Paypal , and they make you contact the seller, and he was courteous and refunded it all back. that said, im kind of glad i didnt go through with it. Alot of people dont talk about the performance-hit and rather convoluted method for making DCS to export the screens. FalconBMS made it super simple, and didnt require as much raw horsepower from the GPU, but now that i have a 165hz monitor and butter smooth performance, i dont want to mess with syncing off those USB monitors and slowing it all down
  14. Good point. OP, there are special options unique to the F14 that specifically address SRS. look for them.
  15. Im really happy with my FSSB Lighting base. I would be interested in the throttle
  16. thats so strange. and you dont get the IC report when flying with tomcat on MP??
  17. awesome work man. i really relied on a this in FalconBMS on my G15 keyboard. Im trying to get a way to break that out from the keyboard if possible, using just the LED in my pit, and this could work great for it, if i can get it working. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work
  18. Yeah im afraid thats kind of all we get. you will grow to be more sensitive to its messaging through the vibrators and their location and rythm, but it is of course limited.
  19. Finally letting go of the last remnants of CTS:Windows , to make room for new modules, awesome! It was sometimes nice (but exceedingly rare) to be able to jump into IL2 using hot-swap, but that game just gets more and more boring as DCS gets more and more WW2 modules and terrains
  20. That looks good Toby. but im not sure about that comma-character in the file and folder name. try removing that. sometimes special characters and file/folder names arent supported.
  21. just to be clear, we generally all use OVGME , not for our saved-games folder (which you can do, but its really not needed), but specifically for the main install folder. The whole point of OVGME is how we can disable the mods, whenever we update DCS (which overwrites everything it finds) and then we renable them afterwards. Saved Games folder is never overwritten by updating of the game so its kind of pointless. (its not entirely. my squadron uses it to distribute liveries. you can have multiple contexts for OVGME but you dont need to use it, and can just always put files in your saved games folder without fear of them ever being erased.)
  22. really cool idea and a good start. thanks for sharing
  23. Buy DeOxit electrical-contact cleaner. there are cheaper alternatives, but this one just works right thats why its about 15$ you probably got some cheeto dust in there heh. lube would maybe make it worse
  24. Well, youre right, AIRIO needs updating and navgrid doesnt work right, as well as 'look for large target' and a bunch of missing features now since last patch where Iceman can now take commands to fly to a waypoint or orbit a point. With the recent Stable-release update, we are all expecting Hollywood315 to have an update soon. (not like the guy couldnt show more concern for the fact that most of us run open-beta, or that he could communicate better with his paying customers. this isnt a free mod.) The map-marker thing is broken on multiplayer, especially when those servers have dynamic map-markers that the mission creates like DDCS or ThroughTheInferno, but one way to understand what its doing is to sometimes visit the Jester-menu again. you will see what Vaicom is trying to do. the map-markers you make are listed in the menu, in numeric order. i assume based on the order you created them, but who knows.
