it seems to be that there are no pre made load outs as there are so few options, maybe if we had more drop tanks?

Maybe mod the pedals? put straps on them to keep your feet on the pedals?

"The throttle controls manifold pressure (MP) and (indirectly) pitch of the prop. Increasing throttle increases the manifold pressure (the pressure of the air/fuel mixture going to the engine) and the prop tries to turn faster. The prop controller then resists faster RPM by increasing the "bite" of the blades in the air. This increased pitch and angle of attack of the blades causes more thrust, but also causes more drag, resisting an increase in RPM. In a sense, throttle only increases the torque of the engine, and then the prop governor increases the pitch of the blades to produce more thrust and drag. This happens quickly and automatically, so no change in RPM is noticed. So, the throttle controls the MP/engine torque/prop pitch, and the prop lever regulates engine/prop RPM." If i remember correctly the N had a better radar that was able to fire the Aim 7 as well as an advanced INS.

A lot of when to do what is personal preference and cockpit management, for example i was taught in the Cessna to deploy 20 degree flaps on base and 30 for final and to of done the Breaks, undercarriage, mixture, fuel etc checks on downwind. however in a non standard approach or when inbound for an airport in say class C airspace i might delay the flaps until im almost over the fresh hold due to the longer runway and traffic that might be behind me. Good job i did that as i had an Embraer on my butt-side on a 6 mile final.

I've noticed the air pressure needles not moving, not sure why that is, otherwise the only issues i've noticed relate to Multiplayer 2 pilot use, that being that the gear lever in the rear is not in sync with the front (could actually be the case IRL though) as well as the fact that if an aircraft is damaged with two people in it (i.e the gear collapsed) then gets repaired, the person in the rear will see the gear as being up, there is also a similar issue where pilot one selects a new aircraft, the rear pilot will still see the aircraft in the previous state.

Its good for getting the feel of props without killing you from torque like the mustang however as someone stated above its not a tail wheel so stuff like taxiing will not be the same, I personally wish we had a, stearman, moth or chipmunk but i might be biased as i flew a tiger moth when i was 13, first aircraft i ever flew! edit: The T6 Texan/Harvard would be a much better aircraft trainer to have on the basis that many pilots have said the T6 is actually harder to fly then most warbirds because of its power to weight being low for its size. Not to mention that the fuselage flap is normally wired shut as it caused so much drag a lot of T6s were falling out the sky.

Just some sweet pics of my first prop formation flight in a few years and i have to say that this is one hell of a bird to fly! Share yours! https://imgur.com/ipU1ne7 https://imgur.com/6nlPtXr https://imgur.com/VIVV968 https://imgur.com/IkWsLIk https://imgur.com/AROmtor https://imgur.com/x1Aae97

you have to do a strange manoeuvre to get away from the 24, try 30k ft at max speed (with external load) about 8nm (or 4 i cant remember) drop it and pull a 4g 150-180 degree turn and enter a shallow dive to break mach and hopefully then you'll live.

gotta love beta range props

Advanced trainer? Not really, The Sabre and F5E is the closest advanced jets you'll get as the Sabre is subsonic with radar guided sight making a2a easier and the f5E can carry way more bombs, drop tanks ect, I do wish that we had something like the T-2 Buckeye or T-45 Goshawk though.

I can confirm it works on the Stennis

I mean considering the f5 was build for export and unprepared strips is its not too out of the question to have it work if you landed perfectly

Considering forming an F-14 Squadron if there is any interest
zcrazyx replied to punk's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hell yes! I love naval aviation and have been planting the f-5e on the deck of the Nimitz class for a bit now, love the tomcat and am interested to see how it performs compare to real life and in comparison to other aircraft given it's weapons capabilities. -
Might wanna double check the issue now, I seem to have an issue where on mp with the same flight plan, same targets and locations with flight profiles as SP, the BK90s crash into the ground at the WP instead of flying over them like they should.

Non combat? DHC Caribou, C-130, any naval catobar equipped transporter, CH-53E Super Stallion

AIM-54 Effect on MP (now that we can test it in the sim)
zcrazyx replied to Xavven's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I find it funny that people are concerned about balance and how other aircraft will cope. People fail to remember there are simmers flying the Mig 21s and dominitating F-15s and SUs, its a matter of awarness, tactics and bfm. -
God dammit, just as I thought that my wallet was recovering from buying the Harrier, not only is the F18c close but now also this??? At least we might be able to do some light aeros with this one :P

Did the MK9 have drop tanks or maybe even bombs? I've seen that there is a drop tank release lever and a fuel switch to draw it from the drop tanks. Are we ever going to have them?

I have many a things which i'd personally love to be added, some functional and useful, others just for fun so here we go. 1: Avro Vulcan - come on who doesn't want this, massive payload, awesome range and maneuverability and enormous in size. Would be nice for the types who play fsx as the long range may spark interest or maybe if they just want to nuke something then it's there which brings me onto the next wish. 2: Handley Page Victor in aerial refueling role as AI or product, you know, to Refuel the Vulcan. 3: English Electric Lighting, - because why not, Fast, high rate of climb, an ideal interceptor to intercept well the Mig 21 or even other AI, Radar, Guns and missiles, would be an awesome jet to master and possibly one of the few aircraft harder to fly then the Mig 21. 4: Hawker Hunter in any mark - Simply put, Mig 15 opponent or well if it's a later mark of Hunter a good ground pounder, 30mm cannons, rockets as well as mavericks in later marks would be a great addition. 5: Emergency Aircraft Arrestor System, Basically like what US aircraft carriers have but for airfields in case of emergency, All aircraft could use this system as they can either be in a net form to catch the aircraft or a arrestor wire form for aircraft with tail hooks such as the F-5E. 6: Better information across the game for airfields, this includes taxiway markings, atc and actually fixing some of the airfields on the maps so the numbers show. 7: for the RN-24 Nuke to work when dropped from the Mig-21Bis, yes it drops, yes it explodes, no it doesn't do damage, at all. I know that Nukes kill servers however if the 28 works and it's included in the product i feel it should work.

Show me your dogfighting skills....
zcrazyx replied to NineLine's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
https://youtu.be/ukwCrbc0uZg The reason they called it the Spitfire, hmmmm burning 109s for dinner. -
Well I hope we get to haul beer like this for Christmas.

you have to remember that we're not escorting bombers in the P51s, usually its 1v1 - 4v4 etc so it ends up as a turn fight on the deck, i would thing that the 51 and 190 turn similarly and even as well as the 109 with use of flaps, that being said it ends up being about the pilot knowing what to do in every turn and knowing what to do before the opposition has even thought about it, what will really make me tell is when the Spitfire mk9 comes as it was the "stop gap" against the 190A. Edit - I am by no means a great p51 simmer but i have had many manauver kills by forcing them low, hard and slow. I do aerobatics in the Mustang though and i can say that it is easy to force one to drop a wing.
