[DONE][missing keybindings, or maybe wrong] AA/AG Switch
Maverick87Shaka replied to Maverick87Shaka's topic in Fixed Bugs
Dear Deka team, Any chance to get a feedback on AA/AG Switch ? It's the last part before release something interesting for JF-17 ( feel free to contact me by PM, and I'll be happy to show you what we have in mind OFC ) To me it's missing one additional keybinding: AA/AG - Switch Toggle So far we have only: AA/AG Switch which behaves well for ON - OFF toggle AA/AG Switch - A/A and AA/AG Switch - A/G which works for ON - ON toggle But there is no chance to use this function in a momentary button. Thanks -
At the moment the only work around is make different copy of index.html, one for each instance ( port ) you want have direct link. Edit each .html file and make them load different app.js, for example index2.html will load app2.js and so on. Inside app2.js edit controlPort and dynamicUrl according to your server instance settings, and you're ready to go. To be honest I rarely use browser ( and webgui ) directly on server, but I don't find so much boring enter port number on page loading, ofc you'll have to remember the port of each instances. Method tested with current OB Dedicated server release ( 2.7.7.15038 ) , but I'm pretty sure it will be the same on full installation. I don't know if it will survive to DCS update Fly Safe

Multiple admins on a DCS server
Maverick87Shaka replied to dunsparth's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Take a look to the SLMOD, we used this method since years and works really well. All the .miz file must be already on the server but you can set UID of your admins and they can load different mission, start/restart etc. DCS WebGUI is "chained" to the running server account and you should have to share that account credentials ( typically not a good idea ), that's why I suggest to use SLMOD. -
Dedicated Server hungs
Maverick87Shaka replied to Colmillo's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Try to post the full server log, what you have posted looks like only the last part where DCS start collects info of the crash, and there is no evidence of what caused the crash. -
Thanks Deka Team! I can confirm that the new bindings introduced with OB Release 2.7.7.14727 works fine with Rotatory Encoder. HUD Brightness - Dec HUD Brightness - Inc UFCP Brightness - Dec UFCP Brightness - Inc We can mark this as fixed. Thanks!

DCS Server - Country Flag to show up
Maverick87Shaka replied to Maddogs57's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
If your server doesn't have a flag in multiplayer, your IP it's not recognized/registered as part of IP address range that is categorized to be in a specific country. It's not a big deal however. It can works well even without flag, and normally people should care more about PING time rather than a flag, that some times fails to be match real server location. Don't know which is the specific service used by ED ( there are a lot of provider for that information ) and if they do queries every-time a server re-boot and comes online again, but definitely you can try to google different provider and check your IP where is located form this services. My IP address was listed in the correct country but in a total different region for more than 2 years in these "localization database", like this: https://www.home.neustar/resources/tools/ip-geolocation-lookup-tool -
Uhm......did you have the chance to test it again? I've used tonight on the latest OB available ( 2.7.6.13436 - 06Oct2021 ) and it works fine with GBU-12 and GBU-16

[DONE][missing keybindings, or maybe wrong] AA/AG Switch
Maverick87Shaka replied to Maverick87Shaka's topic in Fixed Bugs
This specific topic is not related to the aircraft "master mode", that you can use to switch between Navigation, Air-to-Air or Air-to-Ground. The switch that I'm asking if is possible to add or check behavior is the FCS "limiter" (configuration mode), similar to the one present on the M2000. Actually with the current keybindings available in DCS, you can recreate correct functionality if you have a physical toggle switch, both on-off or on-on are supported with current keybinding available ( and this is kindly redundant assignment ) What you can't do right now is use a single momentary button for that functionality ( like G for gear ) For master mode you have to use T1, and it works well: -
Dear Deka team, Please note that the AA/AG Switch cannot be used as a "toggle" momentary button, like gear UP/DOWN for example. At the moment this functionality can be only assigned to a physical ON-ON or ON-OFF toggle switch, but not to a single momentary press button. It would be nice having it available also for button assign Regards, Andrea Multipurpose-UFC

Dedicated auto updater?
Maverick87Shaka replied to MarkP's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
It will be really interesting, unfortunately it looks like there is no documentation about that, as well as "common practice" to print %ERRORLEVEL% just after the updater command line, it will produce results not related to the update availability. On one of my dedicated test server it's 0 before and after update. I think it's something that just ED can address. Actually on my most populated "prod" server, I'm manually closing the instances start/restart script, start the update from classic icon on desktop, and then ruin again all the isntances form their dedicated script Lets see Fly Safe -
Open Beta build 2.7.6.13436 released on 29/09, maybe lot of server was performing update at that time, or not yet upgraded. Different version between client and version are normally the most common reason to don't have it on the server list. I was able to perform update just now;) Fly Safe!

It's just a tip, DCS Multiplayer unfortunately it's affected by rubber banding, lags, and other strange behavior even when hosted on a dedicated datacenter internet connection, make a server on a wireless network can only make the scenario even worst due to packet lost and jitters typical of this kind of connection. If you still convinced that is a good idea, just test everything (firewall and forwarding) is well configured with PacketSender:

Intel NUC i7 for Dedicated Server
Maverick87Shaka replied to iQyThradz3137i's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Main problem of this NUC is the really low CPU Speed Clock ( base clock ) If you place this PC in a conditioned room and it can maintain a sustained clock > 3.5Ghz on all cores you should be fine. Theoretically it should hit 3.9 GHz on all 6 cores , but it really depends on thermal operating condition, so really mind where you want go to install it. Just a note, use wired LAN connection of NUC or any other Hardware that you plan to use as server. -
Dear Deka, I would like to know if you could consider adding the HUD BRT and UFCP BRT as standard input, so we can bind the CW and CCW to single button press, the goal is to use the same rotatory encoder that are well know and used in many of our simpit. I can only find these functions on Axis assign. Thanks for your consideration, Regards.

There is a lot of SCRIPT spawning stuff on this mission, I suspect it was a bug on scripting or something like that. It's better to upload also the DCS.log of the server ( computer that host this mission ) of the time that the problems occurs to understand what happens. Now it's really hard to say whats goes wrong that particular time.
-
I think it's the wrong forum section...... .....btw.....for both question the answers is the same, it depends from the mission that you actually want to run on your server (as client the mission hosted by the server) In terms of numbers, it can start from 50KB/sec for each connected, up to 250kb/sec for each clients, depending on the active units on the mission, what AI and players are doing etc. Another behavior that I've notice operating 24/7 servers, is that is not really that "linear" growing demands on bandwidth for clients counts. It's not exponential, but for sure is not linear, so if you plan to open a server to a large numbers of players, you can really have to take a look at the available bandwidth, and please don't operate server on wifi or shitty connection that can loose packet, your community will appreciate

[REPORTED]RWR spikes seem to be shared in MP
Maverick87Shaka replied to jonsky7's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Definitely, not sure why at the beginning in 2018 it was categorized as "low priority", I'm sure ED has their valid motivation even if we can think it different, but after 3 years even a low priority bugs deserve to be addressed! Runway lights that is for sure more "easy" bug to be smashed, remains stuck for long long time as well. With the growing interest in the multiplayer missions, server and campaign, this bug need to be squeezed out. Fly Safe -
As mentioned in the first post, it will not disable the file generation at all, at least the .miz file will be included in the generated track .trk files, but at least it will not grow up in dimension while the mission is going ahead. If you join and leave the server immediately , or you'll stay in the server for 3 hours with 40 other players, your .trk recording file will be always of the same size, close to the original .miz file running on the server. Tested on the latest OpenBeta now available ( 2.7.5.10869 ) and it's working.

Giudicare la qualità del visore dalla registrazione della sorgente è un pò difficile, bisognerebbe vedere dopo le lenti cosa si vede, anche se è sempre "complicato" effettuare questo tipo di video.
-
As far as i know, there is now way to avoid that the track .trk contains all the stuff that you put in the mission editor. What I normally do is to create just the "templates" in mission editor, and make all the spawn, routes, etc.. "dynamic" by .lua scripting. After design a mission like that, I load all the required .lua scripts directly from storage without embed it in the mission .miz file. This simple step normally prevent most of the "spoiler" if anyone try to open the trk file It's require the DCS sanitize "hack" of your server

Don't host a server with wireless connection, never! Make a favor to you and all the people that is going to use that server, even if it is "just" for LAN party!
