HSD Heading and Course selection keybinding missing
Maverick87Shaka replied to Maverick87Shaka's topic in Bugs and Problems
Ups, I missed the original request, but now I'm building a more advanced console for my pit, and I would like to use the the rotatory encoder for this function that is really helpful during carrier approach for example ( and not only! ) -
I love the F-14, and also in terms of keybindings is one of the most advanced and well detailed one. In fact you have a lot of options like "on else off" and stuff like that, that make really easy to use your toggle on hotas etc. What I miss so far is the option to bind to the HSD Heading and Course directly to an encoder ( CW and CCW button press ) It's possible to add it in the next release? Thanks!

Same as above, look at the @LG-Skyman post, lot of tip on where to start to investigate. Give us more details and maybe we'll be able to help you, saying is not working, makes really hard to find a problem

Mobile Broadband Multiplayer Server ?
Maverick87Shaka replied to ShaunX's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Normally that kind of connection has not reliable ping ans packet stability to host servers, any kind of it, especially game server type where that parameters is really important rather then only upload/download. On top of that, they are normally NATTED network, so basically it's not directly exposed over the internet. you should ask at your ISP if they have some public ip options to make dcs server works, but i strongly discourage you to host public server on that connection. Regards. -

Slmod for DCS 1.5/2.0
Maverick87Shaka replied to Grimes's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Yes, put just some unused ip like 99.99.999.99 or something like that, it's not a ban based on IP address as far as i know. -

Multiple DCS servers on one machine?
Maverick87Shaka replied to Tricky11's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Uhm, we can run all the instance at the same time without any issue, on all different map that we're usual to host, Caucasus,Syria and Persian Gulf. I suspect it's your configuration or mission that requires something special and crash the server. what DCS.log says? -
Make sure you have a public IP address. Some internet provider due to the lack of IPV4 address available tends to set you behind a NAT network, the results is that the IP address is not pointing directly to you. In this condition you'll not be able to host a multiplayer session. @Maverick24 solves his problem using Hamachi, so I strongly suspect the problem is the public IP address.

Roockie want to join online and srs questions
Maverick87Shaka replied to Trollray's topic in Multiplayer
I can give my feedback as part of Admin Staff of a multi-gaming clan ( also flying on DCS as squadron ) as well as quite popular DCS Server Admin. From server admin prospective, what we can do, and almost everyone do, is offers to our players the SRS options, and put the autoconnect. Since last patch if you have a client with correct setup, it will also launched automatically from your DCS when joining a server. This is a really big improvement, before this feature you'll have to remember to open your srs client before opening DCS and stuff like that, personally before I forgot to open SRS in 90% of the "casual flight" that I take also in my personal server. In terms of it's usage, I can say that is not so much popular for "casual flight" . Also in our squadron we use it regularly when we perform our internal missions as well as we use it as mandatory condition in a multi squadron joints missions. But most of the time, we're usual to catch people in our ts, look how we are, chat a little bit as well as discuss where going to flight and what to do, and then we keep flying on TS. And I believe it's the most common way of many other people on DCS ( maybe discord instead TS but the results is the same ) When joining a server, just ask on chat if there's anyone on SRS and frequency, tune up and coordinate the attack and stuff like that. In our servers for example we've some regular players ( even if they're not part of our squadron ) that loves flying in our server and often use SRS. TLTR: SRS is mostly used on organized events/missions, not on casual flight on multiplayer server -

Stand Alone Server Issues
Maverick87Shaka replied to A101Wayz's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Are you sure you've not change something in your internal configuration? Keep in mind that maybe just keep enable the IPV6 protocol on both server and client in the same network will populate the list. For me the behavior is the same from at least one year, I suspect something changed on your internal configuration if you was able to see in the past the server in the list -
Automatic Server Restart?
Maverick87Shaka replied to 9VFS KOBU's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
I'm operating multiple servers since 2 year right now, best option so far for me it's the windows scheduled task to kill the process at that time that you want. make a .bat, .ps1 or whatever script you like most to kill your dcs.exe, and then schedule the execution Simple and effective, I was running this method even before the release of dedicated server, when hosting with full client setup -
Stand Alone Server Issues
Maverick87Shaka replied to A101Wayz's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
It's normal behavior of DCS. Most of the "home grade" router/modem doesn't support out of the box the "loopback", and that's why you can use your public IP internet address to connect to your internal server. It's not a problem at all. It's the same for your computer inside the LAN that doesn't see the server in the multiplayer list. Again, it's not a problem. Just ask to a friend to confirm if he can see from outside the server in the list and if he can connect and you'll be ok. Don't worry if you don't see the server in the list from LABN Regards -

DCS control page it will always chained with the account used to start the server. Since release of dedicated standalone binaries, you can also create a new free account and use that one to run server, so it will be safe to share credentials with your friends. Or even better, if it's a really trusted friend and the laptop is dedicated only to run DCS server, you can directly give remote access to the whole laptop so it will also able to restart completely dcs if it will be required for some reason.

Have logistics plane, in addition one like the C-2 that can be operated from carriers, it will be something super interesting for DCS worls. also, the recent Anubis C-130 shown a really high interest from community in this kind of stuff extension for DCS World

It's look like the veteran Mission Editor are not surprised when I explained the problem on discord, but to me is totally unacceptable in a "combat simulator" The problem is pretty simple, the escort fighter group doesn't engage at all when mission is hosted on multiplayer server. You can take a solid lock, and shoot down all the airplane that the escort has to protect, without any risk, end even start shooting at the escort itself that nothing happens. If you start the mission in single player, it looks like it's a little better, at least they try at some point to react and shoot at you. There is any plausible reason for that behavior? To me is something similar to the really old ( and solved ) problem of the ground AI that doesn't fire against each other on dedicated server. Why AI still have to do different things when we're in multiplayer? What is the root cause of this difference? In most of the case ruins our squadron flight missions and destroy all the logic of our 24/7 servers. TaskEscort.miz

You can just open your Export.lua file inside the Saved Games\Scripts folder and put comment ( -- ) in front of the line of DCS-BIOS to make the test: Something like this after edit: --dofile(lfs.writedir()..[[Scripts\DCS-BIOS\BIOS.lua]])

Yes, it's possible and works well, just note that you should have different account for each client connected with valid modules, and on DCS startup all the client should be able to connect to internet to validate their modules. Server/host machine can create server as usual and on all client use the connect by IP option and put the internal LAN IP address of server/host. Just follow any other server/host guide since the process it will be exact the same.
