Also check that "game avionics" and "game flight mode" aren't selected in Options assuming you've set up controls in F-18 sim mode.

As far as controls not working make sur "game flight" and "game avionics" aren't selected in Options menu and go through controls list to clear anything that may be assigned twice.

The only performance issue with DS is that it causes a big performance hit with MSAA set to 4x or above. If you haven't tried yet delete the FXO and metashaders2 folders found in Windows C. / Users / Your Name / Saved Games / DCS.

Due to a few months of unemployment and switching careers I quite literally couldn't afford this until today. Glad I could take advantage of the pre-release discounts. Can't wait to fly some sorties in PG map!

The 1.5 version is now essentially a legacy version and only the original Caucasus map works on it so 2.5 beta or release are your options. Although currently I think they're the same but in the future as new modules and content gets released it will got to beta first and release version shortly after bugs or performance issues get worked out. In case you're not aware of it there is also the WWII Assets Pack which you will want if you want to populate the map with WWII soldiers,vehicles,ships,planes... Normandy and Asset pack can be found as a bundle under Special Offers in E'shop. With Normandy you only get some basic instant action missions added for your planes so buying DLC campaigns or downloading User created missions is what you'll want to get started. Have you tried clearing throttle-joy slider input in the axis assign and reassigning it. Click add and then you have to move slider up then down and it should appear as assigned.

Collective needs to be at 0 before you start mission.

DCS creates its own game log files that can help figure out the problem. Windows C. / Users / Your Name / Saved Games / DCS / Logs. Copy and Zip this Logs folder and attach to post. Also, while you're there in the Saved Games / DCS folder you'll find a "fxo" folder and "metashaders" folder. These sometimes have bad files in them. Delete both of these and start up DCS and they'll be rebuilt. Also if you haven't yet try repairing DCS.

DCS World and all modules have a stand alone and Steam version which are incompatible. However older modules purchased on Steam can be transferred over to stand alone DCS version. In Steam store on product page if it says it uses Starforce DRM it can be transferred over. Not sure when NTTR was released on Steam so you'll need to check in Steam store or maybe someone else knows one way or the other. OK. That settles it I guess.

Its clearly not using your 970m. Find a way to disable onboard graphics and enable 970.

Have you tried renaming Saved Games / DCS folder? Add the word backup to it and when you start game a new folder replaces it. If it works you can then drop your Config folder back in for Controls, downloaded missions, logbook, etc.

With its dizzying array of weaponry it will easily be the most flexible AC in the hangar. What more needs to be said.

For what its worth I'm seeing these errors and many more in my log. Errors can pop up for other reasons such as things devs are working on or maybe just temporarily disabled for some reason. Clean up and Repair ensures thet everything that needs to be there is and nothing extra so it should be fine.

Forgot to mention the other settings issue that can have a big impact. MSAA. There's a few different settings people recommend and the one I found to work pretty well is in-game MSAA at 2X and in Nvidia control panel under Anti-aliasing Mode select enhance application setting and AA-2X.

If you didn't deactivate all of your modules before you made these changes to your PC you probably need to wipe the old registries and then activate modules. Halfway down page where it says activation issues caused by PC changes. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/564/

I'd say you could maybe get away with current processor but GPU and RAM upgrades are necessary. Have you done clean up and repair and/or renaming Saved Games folder to rule out problems with install causing performance issues? As far as settings, yes mirrors do have a big impact. Since you don't have much RAM you should have preload radius all the way down, shadows and water on lower settings, DOF and Lens Flare off, view distance and trees on lower settings.

I just started working at a digital printing shop and will see if this place can come up with a better price on something like this although $16 for a 300 page bound manual sounds very reasonable. Probably pretty cheap paper but still not bad. Is cover laminated Haukka81?
