  1. This is no surprise. The 1.5 version really requires a fast processor whereas 2.5 likes RAM and high-end GPU's. Whenever you go to 2.5 you should be in good shape.
  2. If you decide to update make sure you delete FXO and Metashaders folders from Saved Games / DCS. Having these files from one version and your install being another version seems to cause issues.
  3. Try deleting FXO and Metashaders folders found in Windows C. / Users / your name / Saved Games /DCS folder. When game restarts it will make new fodders to replace. There are sometimes issues that cause crashes because of old files in these folders.
  4. When trying to open up Downloads / Users Section it funnels you into files created by a single seemingly random user instead of showing a full list of all recent downloads. Doesn't always happen but frequently does.
  5. That doesn't apply to 1.5 since there's no deferred shading.
  6. Log in when you start DCS and they'll be there.
  7. Try logging in when you start DCS. That worked for me.
  8. Assuming we're talking Caucasus...By default Blue is at city of Poti (W of Senaki Kolkh)i and Red at Krasnadar. Maybe they can be removed.
  9. Ok. Thanks BIGNEWY. Here's a log in case it's different issue
  10. Whenever I start up DCS it tells me all modules authorization has been cancelled and all modules disabled. If I log in everything works fine. Haven't seen anyone else mention this so not sure if this is an issue on my end or the new "way". Even with new DRM I thought logging in once would mean not having to log in for X amount of time.
  11. something to do with battery switch. Theres a thread in A-10 area I think. Are we now required to be online to play? I keep getting authorization cancelled pop-up and all modules not available unless I log in when I start DCS. One more thing to add after playing a mission. I think something has been done with memory usage. This mission usually starts out showing close to 20 gigs or more video memory usage in the in-game display and is now showing 13 gigs. I'd say that's a good thing.
  12. Yes. Just think of it as a two step process that keeps repeating. Add new content or fixes to Beta and see how it works. Once problems are ironed out move the build to release version. Next Beta version would then include fixes to previous version and once again add more content or fixes. etc. etc. ... In my first post I said both versions would be same but in hindsight that's not really the case. The release version should of course have improvements ovr Beta. My point was they'd probably just be concentrating on performance issues and bug fixes and not add new content so both versions will be similar, not the same.
  13. When release version comes out it would probably be the same as the Beta version until the next update. Each update will then go to Beta first to get issues worked out before being added to release so Beta is inherently less stable. One advantage though is when new modules come out they'll go to Beta first so you can get your hands on it a little sooner if you consider that an advantage.
  14. Logitech did release a new version of X-52 PRO which, they claim, is more durable. I would make sure that that's the one you're getting. It has grey accents instead of blue.
  15. Here's what you do if you can afford it. Buy the F-18 at its currently reduced pre-release price. Then you can use the $16 bonus towards the A-10C for an overall savings of $36 on 2 modules.
  16. Have you tried renaming Saved Games/DCS folder?
  17. Looking forward to seeing finished F-14. That A-10 is epic. This is inspiring me to try painting an aircraft with airbrush. Something I've never tried. At least I could use DCS screenshot for reference pic.
  18. You can either undo change to PC, de-activate modules, reinstall hardware and activate modules or you will have to follow the link below to delete registry of modules you left activated and activate. Half way down page where it says Problem with Activation..." https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/564/
  19. I've been working on a helo mission set in early morning winter in a valley north of Kutaisi and to me this is where you see a huge improvement. The barren, blotchy, sometimes cringe-worthy valleys of 1.0 really come to life with the new textures, snow covering and variety of trees.
  20. Red Dragon's Vid...
  21. Haven't tested but I imagine KH-25ML will take out bunker.
  22. I couldn't get this to occur with monitor sliding body L, R, Up or Down in cockpit.
  23. The player plane is in the wingmans spot 36 instead of 32. You can switch spots around and get them both parked but it wouldn't let me save changes to mission so I can't post a fixed version. When you start mission go into mission planner and try switching their spots.
  24. I'm with you captflyby. I've been arguing that the P-51 should get a jet engine and stealth capability for a while now.
  25. The only time you need to de-activate and activate modules is when you're migrating from one PC to another, making hardware changes to current computer, or changing OS. Re-installing DCS doesn't require this since the DRM is really about binding modules to your PC, not DCS to your PC. The "grey/green button" is just for disabling modules. Log in to your profile on DCS Homepage and activations remaining can be found there.
