  1. Yes, just tried it now. Bombs release on button press, not when line crosses the cue.
  2. Not sure if this is Viggen or DCS related but I made a mission with some SA-8s and SA-3s at Gelendzhik and I can still detect them on the RWR while I'm behind the hills to the north.
  3. Hear like in helmet is a bit weird though, it muffles everything. I only use it for the Huey so I can hear the radio.
  4. I got my shirt too.
  5. He has a slowish computer? MP is always quite a bit slower than SP. Turn down the CPU heavy stuff for MP.
  6. Wouldn't it make more sense that the fighters at every airbase stays constant and if you own that base you can use those airframes i.e. if Blue captures Maykop, they can use the Su27 / Mig29 stationed there and the same for Red, they can use the F15s at Sukhumi if they own that base.
  7. That'll make a difference but not kilometers, assuming he's staying close to the ground.
  8. I don't know the Windows 10 calculator. Do this to check your calculations: Get the answer for: cos(180) If the answer is -0.59846006... the calculator expects radians in which case you should use (bearing*pi/180) instead of bearing. If the calculator expected degrees then the answer would be -1, in which case do nothing. Secondly, UTM coordinates are in metres right? Try using your range as is, in those formulas (instead of dividing by 10). See of that makes a difference.
  9. A few questions: 1. Are you using the cos/sin that works with degrees when using bearing and declination. If not you need to use radians, which is angle/180*pi. 2. Why is it range / 10? Make sure that your range/10 is the same unit as UTM (metres)
  10. That's not true. Rolling causes yaw and pitch too. With the SAU on it feels like you're flying through treacle. Don't think that's right. By all accounts the real Mig-21 (and F-5) rolls very very quickly. The 21 hardly has any weight in its wings, you shouldn't expect it to roll slowly and have masses of roll inertia.
  11. Those aren't really flying inverted. Doing a loop or barrel roll is cool. I think he meant actually flying inverted like a plane (which RC helis can do)
  12. After the latest patch there is some roll inertia. I like the way it is now, seems reasonable to me, tt rolls really fast (a bit faster than the F5). I haven't tried it with bombs and things yet (On the F5 the roll rate decreases sharply with stuff hanging on the wings).
  13. Almost certainly this ^
  14. Do you have the pointer the right way around?
  15. If the runway has 8 mk82 craters on it then a fast jet shouldn't really be able to use it. At least until a magical repair happens after N minutes or whatever. At the moment, the entire mechanic is unusable. We cannot change the fuel / ammo / airframes via warehouse damage. Nor can we guarantee that bombing the runway / taxiways will stop them from taking off from that airfield (for a while at least). New players joining the server doesn't have damage on that runway at all I think. Clearly these are both things that needs fixing at some point. I made this thread to make this known to the devs.
  16. I get that and you may be correct in that a trainer is better for training (Who'd a thunk eh?). However 1. The difference between the A10 with the MFDs switched off and the L39 (or F5) is pretty slight. 2. He probably has the A10C already. Most people do. I'm just pointing this out.
  17. You guys are being dim. I don't know anybody who learned DCS on the L39 or Hawk or C101. What plane did you learn on? My guess is SU25T or A10C. I get the feeling a lot of answers here are aimed to 'make it easier' for the woman to learn because the manly A10C is too much machine. Its not. The A10C is piss easy to fly.
  18. Did you remove all the bindings for pitch and roll for every controller except your flight stick? Those axes are mapped by default for all controllers.
  19. Foreigners aren't even allowed in the N, no way we'll get a module.
  20. I think mine has arrived, I got a slip in the postbox, will go tomorrow morning to see if it is that.
  21. Easy. If it was one of your drinking buddies who wanted to learn, which plane would you choose? Choose the same one for your wife. The one that is most fun. I'm guessing she's at least as smart as the blokes you drink with.
  22. For sure. The default pilot's voice should at the very least be a choice between male / female.
  23. I'm not arguing the FM is wrong, btw. Just that I agree on some of the previous posts' points. The implementation details of all these things IS the Flight Model and we're discussing that. I'm just curious to see what comes out. I fly this module the most of all.
  24. Nicely said Sweep. Lol@ 3 bags and chill. The F15C is an Air Superiority *Fighter* not Air Superiority *Receiver*.
  25. Hmmm. So, with the wings level and nose level, at low airspeed, the plane is going towards the nadir right? Mostly in the same direction as gravity. There is massive drag because the airflow is seeing the planform. Add burner now, that force is towards the nose of the plane. At least at low airspeeds you should expect to see an acceleration in that direction. You don't have to overcome weight or drag to gain airspeed, in this case. Same for nose down attitude. With the nose up however, then yes, the engine must overcome gravity too and it doesn't provide as much thrust at low airspeed as it does at higher airspeed (everything else being equal). Anyhow, you'll still be heading towards the ground in all these cases.
