  1. Congrats PicksKing. It really is a great shot and I had a sinking feeling when I saw it..lol. Very nice. And congrats to you too DerNeueMensch, nice one as well. And hey a podium finish is not too shabby either of course ;) I was pleasantly surprised. A lot of good shots submitted by all.
  2. Very true, DCS needs to provide Dithering. This will resolve the terrible banding at night in VR, and also will improve non VR night as well. I just dl'd X-Plane 11 and their night looks way better than DCS night. It is great, DCS has a better Sky, in the star sense but I hope ED works on this. VR is only growing and especially for DCS users.
  3. Check out this thread, it might be just what you are looking for. Referencing training missions so perhaps same for campaign. I could be wrong of course. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=179811
  4. I would go triple screen then and if you aren't looking to go with 120-144hz panels then go with Dell Ultrasharp U2414H's. They have the smallest bezel you can get and they look amazing clean when in a triple setup. No need to overlap to reduce bezels as is common with triple setups and the bezel is so thin they really do kinda just go unnoticed. Got a friend with it and is really nice. I got a triple Asus 144hz setup and while the high hz is nice, the bezels do suck. I also have a Rift and Vive just for clarifications sake.
  5. Congrats MadMonty. Now you know how hard it is to relay to someone who has never tried it how just amazing it is. Glad you took the leap. The more the merrier. We have strength in numbers and helps ensure the next generation. Which we need. I am not sure what your gaming setup is like. But I have one more suggestion for you. Add another $175 USD or so(+2nd sound card too for $25)to your budget and pickup a Buttkicker Gamer2 or even a Jetseat from Andre' here and it will take it up even another notch. Very much worth it. And either of those are easy to employ additions if you just game from a traditional desk/chair setup. Again, enjoy, the wonder doesn't fade. I was a day 1 guy for both devices. To me, this is the Field of Dreams in tech/gaming/simming. You know the movie..If you build it, they will come. Yeah, it's just like that.
  6. Add at least another 0 to that if not needing to up it to a six figure digit. That is designed for theme park/arcade use, not home. That is the companies target market. Just that more high use industrial engineering will make it a large ticket item.
  7. Awesome news Wags . Thanks for finally knocking this off the list for the VR users. Looking forward to the next(or later if the case) update getting applied.
  8. Are you using SweetFX? This may have a role in that perhaps.
  9. Thank you very much Mustang. You do some just amazing work. I really appreciate you sharing the link. And these are only for 1.5.4 is that correct?
  10. +1 I really want to see these out my own cockpits if possible. Available to DL anywhere? Please.
  11. Isn't it just other worldly. I dreamed of this as a kid, when I got into sims in the early days. Which is what got me into the career I am in now. Now to have tech that achieves that, and will only get better with each iteration, I am just happy it finally has made it here. I bought gen 1, of both even with it's flaws to help ensure there will be a gen 2, which I will buy to support a gen 3 and so on. This is the biggest advancement in sim gaming and even other areas obviously(my girl got over a fear of snakes by using my VR for gods sake). I hope more adopt it to ensure it gets the dev priority it really does deserve. I see one day senior centers and a bunch of folks still enjoying the world in a way that perhaps their mobility or strength/health or what have you that may limit them, but with VR, they still can. And I will be that old dude still dropping bombs and buzzing the tower sounding crazy while yelling out VA commands.
  12. Loving the F-14! (I fixed my wing issue previously asked about)
  13. Very sorry bout that. You are right. F-16 Mod and I am eager for it.
  14. Self-edited post to keep thread on topic content only out of respect for usctaylor.
  15. Oh it works fine with 1.5. I have both 1.5 and 2.0 installed and both Rift and Vive and all work fine in either with either.
  16. Congrats. Welcome to the VR club. Look forward to your 1st impressions post.
  17. I love it. I still feel this way 8 months later. Yeah, just shut down Oculus App and leave it plugged in. Might want to get a nice cloth bag for it or a cover for dust. Though to be honest, mine is used to much to gather dust :pilotfly:.
  18. I love reading 1st reaction posts to VR. Either he will be back quickly with a fast report or his wife will be dragging him out the door to dinner wish fresh VR face before he posts again.
  19. Cobra this is beyond cool of you to offer. I mean really an incredibly nice offer. You have the ability to do a single data dump(I imagine) that would no doubt provide builders now, and the ones to come once that bird is out of the cage and inspired with some really invaluable information to help them build that dream. If this is part of the new openness you spoke of, well nice gesture towards that indeed. Would be great if all the dev were willing to have a sub thread they drop this kind of info for planes they have data on, dimensions and cockpit stuff, only to assist others with other pit build dreams. (See, I even held off tryin to squeeze info out of you!)
  20. Just looks amazing. And you got it really smooth it appears from 1st vid I saw of it. Congrats. If only I could do similar. Would you mind throwing out a ballpark total for motion platform cost(minus chair, hotas, rift..all that)? Again congrats. Real clean and pro looking. PS:Nice to see servers are responding to your player data export enabling requests!
  21. Are you married? Did you plan on staying married if so or is this a planned exit strategy? :smilewink: In all seriousness sounds like an awesome project. Modular swapability would be cool. Good luck with it.
  22. Yep in fact my first gig there was a tester on HL1, Was my first foray into the world of computers after being in sales(I wanted more relaxed work environment and after buying my 1st PC and trying a game, I realized the company was in my city, got hired..lol) then I moved to one of the support teams and then into production areas. Left shortly after Vivendi bought them and moved HQ from Bellevue to Torrance. It is sad what happened. But happened to many. I went to Atari from there and eventually out of the gaming world other than as a player. At MS now. Well, we make games too I guess.
  23. I believe how it works is the submitter will win a Viggen, and the nominated Wingman will win both a Viggen and NTTR map. So if you win then it would seem your son would get both and you would have an extra Viggen module for yourself. Perhaps you could gift that as well if you end up winning. Oh and if so, my bday is the 29th, 2days after release.....just sayin ;).
  24. I have yet to jump into MP online play but I was not aware that simshaker/buttkickers/jetseat/motion plats did not function for most online play from the sound of it due to servers not allowing the function. That is sad to hear. I would hate to lose my simshaker when online when I start.
  25. +1 for this issue. Been spending time with the Huey and realized I was missing something. Be nice to get this fixed for VR.
