Civilian air traffic auto-generation feature
MAXsenna replied to twistking's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Currenthill is now part of the team. Why not just bring in the guys from Civilan Aircraft Mod and Military Aircraft Mod? Wouldn't that be much quicker and easier? Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk -
In what way? Train Microsoft Speech Recognition Purchase and install VoiceAttack Download and add the free community driven plugin for VoiceAttack Setup VAICOM according to the manual Copy the VAICOM commands to the included VoiceAttack profile That's basically it. "Two, engage bandits" "Three, engage my target" Cheers!

Single Players: What would win you over to a multiplayer server?
MAXsenna replied to Dangerzone's topic in DCS 2.9
@Ramius007 You're getting off topic. [emoji6] The topic is in the header. What would bring us SP guys over to MP, not why you guys prefer MP. That we already know. [emoji4] Cheers! -
You could be right about the Gazelle though I can't remember for the Kiowa. I find the Kiowa is the easiest of them all actually. The Gazelle for sure had some "sticky" issues a while back. It was like one of the skids was glued to the ground. Especially sand in the PG. Tought me a neat trick though. Whenever I take off in the Gazelle, I'll apply right pedal torque, (I pretty much know how much about now), push cyclic forward and pull the collective in a firm steady motion, like you say, and off I go.

ED, we need help as modules have been abandoned by Polychop
MAXsenna replied to peeter's topic in Polychop-Simulations
@Ornithopter Well, in this scenario you're the girl and PC is you! Just kidding, couldn't resist! -
I would've recommended the Huey too as a starter, but it seems he already got the Gazelle, so I focused on that.

Uncommanded Rudder and Aileron Mid Mission
MAXsenna replied to McMouzar's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I guess it must be the gremlins then. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk -
That's fine, took me a little while to wrap my head around it when I first got FFB myself. Forget about the gimmicky effects. I'm talking about trim. Unless something has changed in DCS, you can't use curves on an FFB base, because if you do, DCS can't apply the correct "trim" and movement on the stick, because DCS doesn't calculate/support it correctly. It might not be that noticeable in airplanes. But a few years ago, it was impossible to trim helicopters correctly if one used curves with FFB. I even had a nasty argument with another user that complained about it, and wanted to have DCS support it. You pretty much proved it yourself when reducing the curve. You seem to not have noticed before, so if this have been fixed in other modules, that's great, and then they will probably come around fixing it in the MiG-29 too.

Uncommanded Rudder and Aileron Mid Mission
MAXsenna replied to McMouzar's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Just gonna mention the obvious which you have probably checked already. Axis conflicts? DCS has a nasty habit of binding axis that are not used and for the incorrect functions. What contradicts this theory is of course no movement in the controls indicator. But I would double check again. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk -
Hey @Taskyhow are and welcome to the forum! What kind of peripherals do you have? It's of course easier with an FFB cyclic or a joystick without springs, and pedals. Most throttles work fine as collective, ( as a personal choice I make sure to invert the axis so it works more like a collective). To get into a hover so you can invoke the auto hover, turn the switch on the ADI to doppler. Then you align the two yellow "pins" so they overlap in a perfect cross. It's also very handy for practicing hovers. I don't remember the training missions that much, but you can "cheat" and get into a semi hover, and invoke "Active Pause" during the weapons employment. You won't be able to turn though. So make sure you point at the targets. I also recommend reading the manual, to see what other tricks you can do to make the instrumenta help you. Cheers!

That's excellent! Sometimes corruption happens in the settings. If you want your keybinds back, you can just copy over the input folder. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

That's fine, while if you read the OP's second sentence it's very much invited. No need to respond, while when you come with false information, you're gonna get called out for it. Enemy Engaged definitely had a dynamic campaign, and was one of the selling points, and even inspired by The Holy Grail. You probably don't know because you never played it. Cheers!
-
Nah, not the only one as SD points out. We've even had it for helis. Enemy engaged. Anyway, haven't watched the mentioned video. It's relevant, though it's like 15 years later than a very good interview that's out there. And people were laughing at me on this very forum ≈five years ago, when I suggested that ED acquired the license for F 4.0 to speed up the DC development and get better AI. Oh, the irony! Anyone with two brain cells that did pay attention, would know the Microprose dudes were aiming to do a Phoenix. @Silver_Dragon The discussion is absolutely relevant about the "competition", (I assume you didn't mean "competence" even if that's kinda relevant too), because that dynamic campaign IS to this day the holy grail that everyone wants. I know ED doesn't want to be a copy cat and do their own thing. While making a dynamic campaign, the only way to do it that makes sense, is to build it around a real time strategy game. Release CA 2.0 and you have a winner.

Well, the DCS doesn't support curves and changes in saturation for FFB. This has been debated to death. It might not be too noticeable always, especially with newer hardware/telemetry software. Any change you do must be done in the hardware's software, and not in DCS. Can easily be observed when trimming helicopters. Unless, ED changed something the past nine months, which I highly doubt. Just think about it. Let's say you don't use any telemetry, and you apply curves/saturation. How will the FFB, (basically trimming), effects know how far to move the stick when curves do not align with the linearity of the FFB effects? That's why a lot of modules when coded incorrectly for FFB, especially helicopters, don't match the trimming at all at release, (the Gazelle had issues before the new FM), and you get an exponentially trimmed aircraft. Easily observed in the Controls Indicator. Cheers!

Are you sure? Tried any trimming in helicopters? Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

Not allowed. Yet. When Steam finally loses down the line, we should be allowed to, at least in Europe. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

Wouldn't exactly call it a rumour the way we were told. That list is getting impressive! -
Yeah, I know. I was just adding my vote for renaming the Saved Games folder, which it seemed to me wasn't tried already..
