Good Video, especially that he used the same resolution i have. 2.2 should be about the same as 2.5. Thanks If you have it try it out! Looks good to me. Maybe your SSD storage is small. Make sure you run DCS on the SSD. That helped me a lot with stutters.

It is not a "mini" card but only one fan like the founder edition. I think i will buy all but the video card for now. My current i5 is louder than my video card and i only care about noise in idle. When i fire up DCS with a headset i do not hear any noise.

Hey guys, since some of you give awesome advice I want to ask about some stuff. I am not an expert and build a system a while ago: I5-3470 Gigabyte H77 DDDR3 8 GB @1600 HD7870 2GB 500 gb ssd Is it a bad idea to buy not all parts at the same time? With processor and board prices falling, can i get away with buying all components but RAM and GPU and get them later? I want to get a good but affordable system that might handle VR with further performance improvements (Vulcan) of DCS: i5-8600k ~230€ a mainboard that supports a little bit of OC. Do you guys know one where i don't have to pay for some f* lights? In my experience there is no big difference between manufactures at that price range (MSI Z370 PC PRO good enough?) ~120€ 2 x 8 GB of RAM when the price is good (somehow they all cost about the same with different Mhz and Latency?) ~160€ Power Supply and cpu cooler no idea a the moment :helpsmilie: GPU: 1070? there is an EVGA single fan for 480€; good or bad? now i play on 1920 X 1080 and my main problem is my 8 GB RAM and my old GPU. -> can not join MP servers and my card hates high res. textures and MSAA :( I want to be able to fly some more awesome RED FLAG Events and enjoy 2.5 (and maybe win some more modules, hehe) thank you in advance!

Again: QNH is always in the briefing. (Static weather) Just a little release for the guys that get frustrated: DCS calculates the height for the altimeter slightly incorrect. This bug has been reported. The impact on flying in VMC is little but calculating things for an IFR flight is almost pointless at the moment. For OPs question: Do not listen to ATC, set QNH, check recovery airfield charts for elevation and go with that! Fly safe!

This will most likely be the case if we get the F14 A/B "upgrade" versions. They both were able to carry the LANTIRN and were upgraded to the same avionics standard (close to the D - 1992). If so we will have two very similar versions and the main difference will be the engines. I personally hope we get an F14A from the early days that has different non digital avionics, no glass cockpit and no DFCS. Let's see!

When I remember correctly there is a slider for the volume. I use In Helmet, too. My solution to your problem was, to leave in helmet at 100% while setting all other audio option to about 20%.

Hey alp, I am looking to upgrade, too. Maybe just wait a few months? What is with your old card? I am thinking about buying all parts but the ram and graphics card. Ram is even worse. Most stacks went from 150 to 50 and then to 250€ again... Like it is said in the article: all other parts are cheaper atm because nobody builds new systems. Maybe invest in those parts now and keep your ram and gcard until the prices are falling? Good luck!

Did you check the altitude in F2? F2/F10 shows object height and not calculated altitude. DCS shows wrong altitudes in cockpit because of miscalculated pressure! Unfortunately the error gets bigger when you fly higher. See here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200013 What temperature did you set in the mission?

TY for providing the mission file! With 3300 units the mission is quite big. First i am not an expert in this stuff. I was barely able to load the mission in SP as you can see here : Swap File usuage went over 100% at about 16 GB. RAM is at 80% usuage. I have a SSD so loading time was about 6 min. FPS was fine once loaded in. After that i tried to join the server: Swapfile stayed at 100% usuage but RAM went up to 95%. Nothing happens until you see this: and after that the mission end screen is displayed where i can retourn to mission editor :doh: For your mission DCS needs about 8 + 16 GB for SP and apparently more than that for MP. So for now people with 8GB systems can not join the server. People with more RAM but an HDD will experience long loading times because their swapfile will be used more after they passed their max RAM mark. I don't know if you can increase the swapfile size to more than your max RAM limit (not what you have, but what the mainboard is cabable of) your system. Either ED finds a way to reduce RAM usuage per unit or maybe we will see the minimum system requirements updated.

+1 razors advice don't wait to get into MP. In MP there are a lot of things different. Real life experience might help you a lot more as your opponent has human limitations. Read the briefing and ID every target! Joining the corresponding teamspeak of the server to get some help is always a good idea. ACG Cold War Server is perfect for getting shot by experienced mig drivers! Good luck!

same here. On my end the problem is that the VRAM, RAM and swapfile memory gets all used to the maximum and at that point DCS.exe becomes inactive. Happend in 1.5, too. So for me the conclusion is to upgrade. I have an old system with 2 GB VRAM and 8 GB RAM. Despite having enough FPS i now have to either throw 80€ (60€ 5 years ago) into an old system for 8 GB more or buy a new setup. edit: system H77 i5 3470 DDR3 8 GB @1600 AMD HD7870 2 GB ssd 500 GB Win10

Hey Ragnar, ich komme nochmal auf deinen ersten Post zurück. Raku hat dir alles gut erklärt, aber ist nicht auf die Dinge in deinem ersten Post direkt eingegangen. Wichtig beim fliegen ist, immer alle Parameter im Blick zu behalten. Solange alle einigermaßen passen, kommst du im ganzen wieder runter. Wenn du dich zu sehr auf ein oder zwei Dinge konzentrierst, geht meistens etwas schief. So genau nicht! Halte den AOA oder die Geschwindigkeit mit dem Stick und trimme nach, wenn dir das hilft. Mit dem Throttle bestimmst du deine Höhe und Gleitpfadwinkel. Du darfst auch nicht die F5 mit den Fly-by-Wire gesteuerten Fliegern wie F15, FA 18 oder Mirage vergleichen und nach Tipps für diese fliegen. Da du FC3 hast, fliegst du bestimmt auch die F15C. Wenn du da den VV auf den Anfang der Piste setzt und dann Stick loslässt und dann den Schub raus nimmst, wird der Bordcomputer deine AOA erhöhen, um den VV auf seiner Position zu halten. Machst du das gleiche in der F5, indem du im Anflug den Stick loslässt (ausgetrimmt) und den Schub raus nimmst, wird sich deine Flugrichtung sofort nach unten verändern, jedoch wird deine AOA ungefähr gleich bleiben. Also genau umgekehrt! Man darf hier auch nicht vergessen, dass das ganze nur klappt, wenn man schon einigermaßen innerhalb der Parameter im Endanflug ist. Dafür sind die Tipps der anderen sher gut. Wenn du dein TACAN benutzt, hast du auch die Entfernung auf einen Blick.

Uncaging the IR Seeker does not give you more Range. The Radar is completely separated system from the AIM-9 missile system. That means the radar does not communicate the target location or range to the system. It only provides range indication to the pilot! You can not slave the IR seeker to a radar locked target like you do in modern fighters. Feedback to the Pilot from Radar: only visual -> Radar Screen (AN/APQ–159) and Optical Sight System (AN/ASG-31 - it is not a HUD) Feedback to the Pilot from IR seeker: only audio -> Tone (growl) For simplicity keep the Radar off and leave it for later. Check your key bindings, especially that you do not have 2 buttons for 1 cockpit action. Try again to replicate what ricktoberfest advised with a not maneuvering target: 1. Get on the targets 6 Position within the AIM-9 weapon envelope (2000-7000ft) 2. Select MSL Mode on the AN/ASG 31 and set up your aim 9s 3. put the pipper on the target and wait for a high pich tone (Manual page 230) 4. roll no more than 10° and make a easy turn away from the target and keep your altitude Do step 4 without the uncage button and after that with pressing and holding it before the role and in the turn. With an uncaged IR seeker the high pitch tone should be there for more degrees you put the target off your nose than without. For more information i can strongly recommend the manual. It explains how each system works in detail and gives a lot of advise for GUN and missile employment. ? At 3:00 he shows what holding the uncage buttons does. Note that he does not use the radar. He also shows some really helpful stuff concerning the close combat modes!

Awesome event! Eagle One got slaughtered each time we came close to the enemies but that did not stop us from having fun and laughing about the things happening - especially the radio chatter on 243 :thumbup:.

Thats true, but i think the mission were created to allow Air to Ground mission also for F5 and Mig 21. If you put air defences up only the modern planes can attack ground target. Maybe 2.5 changes this behavior next week. You can run into trees, little hills and more ...

It is a DCS 1.5 problem. If you have 8 GB RAM and not much VRAM you can not connect to servers with many units and players in 1.5. In 2.2 it takes a while but you can still connect.

Agreed. Trying to put the F14A into a "realistic conflict" with its weapons is even worse :music_whistling: When it got introduced in 1974 the only DCS Modules flown in bigger numbers (I think we can leave out F86 and Mig 15) are: Mig19 Mig21bis with R60 but without R60M F5E with AIM-9P F4E with AIM-7 and AIM-9 AJ 37 with RB24J MIIICJ with R.530 and AIM-9 no mig 29 or su 27
