  1. If you go high enough, the night sky will surround every side of you, and the map will become more and more white until it's just a white plane expanding everywhere out below you. Keep going, and the night sky will start to shrink the edges of this plane/map into a circle, getting smaller, until the circle vanishes, and you're entirely surrounded by night sky. Or space, depending how you look at it. I'm not even joking, this is what happens when you go high and keep climbing. At least in DCS 1 5
  2. Sounds do not change with temperature of engine
  3. I mean in-game obviously
  4. Me wanty
  5. I'd like to see it, for historical reasons. However, considering how horrid the view is below the nose, I don't think it would be used much.
  6. +1
  7. If historical, I'm on board
  8. What are you saying? Can you reword that
  9. That's a very good quote to show how pilot recounts aren't always on-point like some think. Going to pocket that.
  10. It's not a good idea to use '40s IAS indicators for any kind of scientific-level study, unless on the subject of their varying inaccuracies.
  11. [Y]ugra only made the map for their WWI module. The Normandy map is by the base map team. However, now that the map for the WWI module is essentially finished, I'm looking forwards to seeing some much-needed updates to the DCS Normandy map. I hope they prove themselves though. They didn't do too hot on DCS Normandy, and frankly it looks pretty rough for the WWI pack's map as well.
  12. This. Backfire sound is shared by both aircraft, among other sound samples. Going to check it out later
  13. hope the 51 and other warbirds follow :)
  14. What rudders do you use? I use T-Rudders and don't have any of the problems described.
  15. Bumping this
  16. To have a submarine modeled and intractable to the depth (hehe, punny) that aircraft are would require an graphical/map rewrite. If you go below the water on maps currently, it doesn't look like water. It's essentially just falling through the map, and you can only go down by 500ft iirc. However I'd like it as an AI for WWII Assets, but atm I personally would like to see that attention given to ground vehicles and more WWII AI
  17. There are plenty 109s with the DB605. They can be a fine source for sounds. The JJ 213 inside an airframe is a bit more elusive though
  18. Run a repair when on the ground
  19. I fly with them on. I've had random failures happen before, but like once or twice that I've noticed a year.
  20. Nice to see some push on the warbirds (or at least now in the open air) getting some fixes/updates from community requests [emoji4]
  21. Anyone got a quickie video of them, since the update today?
  22. Two quick questions: Is the 150 octane in development, or planned? Also, I recall there being a thermodynamic update of the engines and their cooling systems. Is this still in development, or just planned? Thx
