  1. The plan is that every module will eventually have a detailed damage model
  2. hi, I'm here to report a bug. LALT+F12 save function appears to be broken, and won't save. however, it does close the settings menu when it is pressed, it just won't save any changes, and sticks with the default convergence, mask etc settings. Also the mod is working flawlessly for IL-2, so this seems to be a DCS-only issue. if there is a way this can be adjusted through the .ini files, please show me the variables. :)
  3. I personally think it's worth it. It looks beautiful, and is I think the heaviest hitter, more than the 109 (because that 30mm is a pain to land). It's slower, but that doesn't mean it's not fun. And because of its armament, it's really potent in the ground attack role.
  4. Not really excited for this map.....yet. The fact that they dodged WWII and made this in modern is rather disappointing. Hopefully this will be the convertible map, between modern and WWII. Then there is still hope
  5. They come installed with DCS automatically
  6. Sorry for the late response! Yes, my water settings are on low. But, to walk back on myself, on low settings I actually CAN see the sea floor on the Caucasus map. I got VR roughly when Normandy updated, and I also lowered my graphic settings. I must have confused my change with the Normandy map in general. However, yes. The rivers and estuaries in Normandy have no sea floor, and appear as a different color from high altitudes, like in the pictures I posted (and can be seen on the F-10 map as well). My water settings are at LOW
  7. This is an issue that I ran into as well, and I couldn't find a solution. The only way to make it work is to mod the default. It seems DCS will ignore a cockpit livery if it isn't one of the default ones
  8. I personally, if given the sight, would have it always on fixed.
  9. Ah shoot you're right. I keep forgetting you can use the Saved Games DCS folder like a mod storage folder. It's probably better there anyways, as my mod will be wiped (or the description.lua anyways) after every update. So, I guess you figured it out?
  10. No no, don't use the DCS folder in saved games. The instructions in my post above are where you should go. If I said Saved Games that was a mistake in my part
  11. Use Notepad++ to open description.lua files 1) Navigate to DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\P-51D\Liveries\Cockpit_P-51D-25-NA\default 2) Open the description.lua 3) Add a new line with the content {"p51d-cpt_photo", 0, "mustang_photo", false}; 4) Save 5) Add your cockpit photo (in .dds format) to the folder default 6) Repeat steps 1-5 for P-51D-30-NA
  12. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3307044/ Try the instructions here. You need a photo editor that will stretch/scale a photo in a pure horizontal or vertical direction, I suggest the freeware Gimp, and use the .dds plugin (not installed automatically) to export it. If you have a photo already ready for use, you don't have to do that part, just replace the photo in the mod. I'll look for the instructions on how to do it yourself (without a mod) but give me a minite
  13. What cool hand said
  14. Not all of these items are slated for 2020, but still this is a good and simple list of what to expect in the coming years
  15. Yeah I'm also blurry on what he means. Currently the Spitfire itself is finished. Only items left to change will effect all warbirds, not Spitfire specifically
  16. Agreed, it's currently my favorite out of them all
  17. P-47, Mi-24, and Mosquito are going to be the major releases of the year. We may also get a new map
  18. What Fri said
  19. The Mustang was one of the first modules to DCS, meanwhile the Spitfire was only a handful of years ago. In that time between there was some reorganizing, and the Mustang got forgotten
  20. I can't recall the exact locations, but dig around! It'll be full of LUAs that copy the file structure and name of the folders with the actual sounds. Might be in sounds, maybe mods or Coremods, not sure
  21. In sounds, there is a folder full of LUAs. They are placed and named to match the sound samples. Find the one corresponding to the one you want, then open it and lower the gain
  22. Heh, heck. On the normal Caucasus runways I'd use full power only with heavy loads, but on Normandy I think I'd drop a bit of flap with 6 rockets and 2 bombs Hopefully Burning Skies uses a Normandy map soon, and hopefully UGRA fixes the grass on the airfields soon. If that happens, then I'll REALLY be sold (even though I already bought it lol)
  23. I believe the sound samples are the best, except for the sounds from the front. I personally though find the new default sounds fairly good, however. My biggest gripe with it now is the backfire sounds. Jafa seems to have better backfire sound samples, aesthetically anyways.
  24. Full power is only for heavy loads for me. I take off with 30% fuel anyways, I only get to 55", by then it's already coming off the ground lol
